I hope you don't mind me posting on your diary, Puzzcat. I'm a long time lurker on MSE but have only just joined and started posting:o. I read some of your posts before when your DD was thinking of going to Uni and after a catch-up I see that she's spent a year in US and seems to be enjoying student life. I know you must miss her as the pair of you seemed very close but it must be very heartening to know she is becoming independent and spreading her wings.

I hope your anxiety situation gets the attention it deserves very soon. These 'hidden' medical issues can be the worst of all as it's a case of suffering in silence with no one except those we live with having an inkling that anything is amiss. If you're anything like me (well, like I once was anyway) you'll be painting on a smile each time you have to venture into company and feeling nothing but a sense of relief once you shut the door firmly behind you once you get home again. Sending hugs xxxx

I know how you feel about the upcoming defaults disappearing forever:T. All but one of mine have now gone, the last should drop off at the end of November but I expect it will be the New Year before it's recorded on my credit file. To be honest, my score hasn't improved much at all since I became debt-free and all the other defaults disappeared from view:eek:. I was pretty disappointed by that:(. It might be because I've taken out 3 sub-prime credit cards but they were practically begging me to have them so it would have been rude not to:rotfl:. I always repay my full balance each month as per Martin's advice:money: and only buy what I would have to anyway using real money. I must admit the whole credit score thing is a mystery to me, as is so much else in life:o

I hope to be back posting on your diary again if you'll have me:beer:

    Hi Finally Solvent,

Lovely to meet you and thank you for your kind words.

I have 2 of those cards as well, although I keep forgetting to use them.. when I do I always pay them off straight away like you.

Anxiety is a tricky subject if you don't have it or live with someone with it.. My Lovely mother when I told her said.." I had that 3 weeks ago"...:rotfl: They just don't get it and it is so exhausting, but hopefully I will get to see the jolly NHS soon to unravel me again....

Do pop by again, I love visitors...!

    Another update...

Just checked my credit file and my Unenforceable debt of just shy of 9k has been closed and marked satisfied.. In fairness they were very good and haven't chased me for it since I told them it was UE...

One down just a few more to go....:rotfl:

    Well that weekend went quickly...

DD dropped back last night by OH, so an empty house again for me.. well apart from OH occasionally and the 2 fur babies of course..

We didn't do anything over the weekend, lots of chilling and watching TV... one takeaway so not too bad...!

Need to get organised for the weekend as I think OH is away and my bff is going to come over one evening.. must sort...

Have ordered first Christmas presents :xmastree: :D:D Will probably go shopping at the weekend and also do more overtime.. did a little on Saturday but lots more to do, and as I don't have to leave the house to do it, its perfect for earning a few extra pennies....

Not much else to report, no word from NHS so have contacted them again this morning.. won't hold my breath..

    Off to the office shortly....

What a chilly one... I can't seem to get the house warm and its only November...

So I have today checked my credit report and I only have 2 defaults showing...:T:T Not sure why some have dropped off as they weren't due to until 2021.. but i'm not complaining... also creation/lowell have marked my latest payment as up to date.. bit weird as it has been red markers since 2016.. but hey... long may it last..!!

NHS have come back to me.. at least another 12 week wait.. not a very good service at all...

Today hiding from the cold.. lunch with LM, lets hope she's lovely... and then some visits this afternoon.. tomorrow I'm working outside.. brrrr.. have dug out the gloves and scarf...!

Did 4 hours overtime at the weekend.. more pennies.. confirmed with BFF that she wants to go away again next year, which she does...:j:j So let savings commence....

Planning on hitting the town this weekend to commence the proper Christmas shopping, have done a little online..

Noting else very exciting to report..

It's officially the season to be jolly... I'm finding it hard to be jolly but doing my very best...

My Anxiety is causing me issues, but I'm battling on.. I know its all illogical but the Anxious brain doesn't know how to deal with it...

    Hey ho...

Christmas shopping is well under way, tree is up and plans for Christmas sorted.... dd and I are having a PJ day as OH is working...

Haven't had any social occasions so nothing to report there...

dd popping home for the elections, not sure on her timings yet.. and then she's going back as work to do on the run up to the holidays, her current plan is to come home 22/23 December...

Money ... don't like spending my savings... :rotfl:

Am stuck at home waiting for a re delivery of a Christmas present.
It's due between 1 - 3 apparently... also having my haircut later.. it is looking a right mess....

So nothing exciting going on... hoping that next Christmas I'll be back to my enthusiastic self as I really don't feel in the zone at the moment..

  • Really sorry to hear that your anxiety is causing you to be less than your usual chipper self but I expect you'll do your best to carry on as normal for the sake of your family. You come over as a confident person on here but I know from personal experience that mental health issues (invisible to all but the sufferer) can be devastating to our self-esteem. Thinking of you and sending hugs :kisses3:

It must be nice having DD home even for a flying visit and a new hairdo should lift your spirits. I let mine go far too long between appointments and end up looking like scarecrow before I get round to making an appointment. I love the winter for that because I can hide the whole sorry mess under a woolly hat and at least be able to leave the house without scaring anyone:eek:. I walk on air when I leave the salon:rotfl:

You seem to have Christmas much more under control than me! I've posted off presents that need to be sent and by agreement most of the other people I buy for have agreed not to exchange gifts this year. It's a relief but sad that I'll have so little to open on Christmas morning. DH is a kind man but doesn't 'do' Christmas so there'll be precious little from him for me under the Christmas tree:(. Well, the metaphorical tree anyway as we aren't bothering with one this year as none of the adult children are coming over Christmas itself this year, all for unavoidable reasons like work (NHS jobs/army abroad etc.) Will see them all early next year but it will be after decorations are normally down and packed away.

I hope your parents are doing OK with their various illnesses.

    Hi Finally Solvent,

Apologies for the delay in responding to your lovely message, time just seems to run away these days...

I hope you had a nice Christmas despite your children not being with you.. did your OH join in ? My OH doesn't do Christmas either, so I would only get a card with cash in, if I was lucky if it wasn't for dd doing his shopping for him!

I wish you well for the New Year.

:xmastree: I know I missed it.....:)

So the big day has been and gone, dd and I had a very chilled day watching films, eating gammon and opening presents very slowly throughout the day.. OH got home about 9pm and opened his in about 3 minutes...:rotfl:

Boxing day I cried off visiting OH's relatives and spent the day relaxing.. cleaning plastic garden chairs.. doesn't everyone do that on boxing day? They were absolutely filthy but OH had offered to lend them to stepson and I don't think they realised what condition they were in.. 2 hours later with a kitchen full of mud they were done....:D

Anxiety still playing games, I do things to do battle with it.. face your fears and all that.. but then something happens to undo my good work.. hey ho.. have booked GP visit for earliest date...8th January..:eek: and I booked well over a week ago.. just to remind them I'm still waiting...

Back to work Monday, dd knee deep in essay writing and OH working hard so he can go off for his month long holiday next week...

Nothing Money wise to report... didn't spend all my vouchers so used some at the sales yesterday to buy Christmas cards, also got me some cheap new boots.

Meeting a friend for brunch tomorrow then off for a potter with LM in the afternoon.

Unfortunately my LF was diagnosed with mixed dementia before Christmas so that's sad but not unexpected...

Hope everyone has a lovely NYE whatever you may be doing.. I think you can guess where I will be.. yep on the sofa watching TV... maybe with dd.. you never know...

    Much Love.

  • Glad to hear you had a nice 'chilled' day with DD:T:beer:. Mine was well and truly chilled because DH forgot to order some central heating oil:mad:. The tank hadn't totally run dry but DH reckons using it up right down to the dregs sucks impurities etc into the system. His instructions to me was to 'go easy' on using it:mad:. There can't be many people who love to be as warm and cosy as I do, especially when I'm relaxing and not working up a sweat:rotfl:. Needless to say the atmosphere chez Finally Solvent was chillier than the ambient temperature. We do have fireplaces and I insisted on having fires but the anthracite pile was a bit low and the logs we sometimes burn were also depleted. The oil delivery came today though:j.

I'll be joining you on the sofa on NYE. Not literally, obviously:rotfl:, but we'll be watching TV especially the London fireworks. I love fireworks especially when I don't have to set foot outside in the cold;)

Sorry to hear of your Mum's diagnosis. It must be very worrying for you.

I'll end by wishing you and yours all the best in 2020. Here's hoping it will be kind to you and those you care about:beer:
