  • Good Morning... what a windy day we had yesterday.. I didn't risk going out so had a very boring day in the house as OH was watching films all day so I couldn't do any work as I needed to phone people and my computer desk is in the living room...

Unfortunately when the mse system changed it only offered up my very old username and email address and despite many emails with the team, I couldn't access Puzzcat's email, hence my new name.. same puzzcat though... :D
Nothing exciting planned, bit of work to do this week, lunch with LM on Thursday... and really should get on that treadmill..🤣

Hope everybody survived the storm, seems much calmer out there today...

    Love Puzz. x

  • Happy Sunday...

Well I've had 4 days off so that's been nice, using up leftover leave before the new leave year commences.. Spent Thursday with LF sorting legal stuff and Friday a couple of hours with LM.. just listening really...😂

Payday is rolling round slowly, just about got enough left in the bank to cover this last week.... can't wait to top up my pots on Friday.. should have enough in my holiday pot to cover booking that in April.... :)

dd's got herself a little job..... She had the interview Friday week ago and started last Thursday, she's currently doing her third shift as we speak...

Expensive day yesterday up to London with my girlfriends, menu wasn't what it was suppose to be so for the princely sum of £40 we each had a main course and the 4 of us shared a bottle of wine.. won't be returning to that restaurant... also £10 on train and £8 on a bottle of bubbles to share with BFF when we got home.. not a cheap day out...!!!!

Busy work week planned and about to log on to see what's been happening in my absence, I may be able to do a little overtime as well.. love my extra pennies....❤❤❤

So that's about it from puzzcat for this week...

Sorry, Puzzcat, I meant to post soon after I read this but R L has been sending some time-consuming nasty stuff my way recently.  Would add the 'eek' smiley but the new set-up seems to offer so few of them and there's nothing I fancy!

Am I right in thinking your DD is still a Uni student living away from home?  Is her job a PT one like I had, to help the cashflow or has she entered the 'real' world of permanent work?

Sorry to hear your restaurant visit wasn't all you expected but at least you had a day out with the girls.  Always good to keep in touch and do that sort of thing.  Sadly, all my good friends live so far from here that it seems I only get to see them as a group  at funerals :'(

Luckily for us the weather has perked up a bit, still cold enough to have to scrape the windscreens first thing this morning but bright and just breezy enough now to hang the washing out.  Tumble dryer is on the blink, leaking from underneath and although I try to use it just to finish off drying stuff that's been on the lines I still want it fixing.  Finding a repair man has been a frustrating business and the one I did find yesterday charges a heck of a lot just for the initial call-out and inspection so I'm thinking it might be more cost effective to bite the bullet and buy a new dryer.  There's bound to be spare parts involved when he's diagnosed the fault.  As well as the leak it's making a very peculiar noise and the jingle that it plays at the end of the cycle is happening every 10 minutes, finished or not.   Imagine I've inserted a whole row of 'eek' smileys!

Lucky you, thinking of planning a nice holiday. Anywhere particular in mind?  I wish we were going somewhere this year but planned crucial  and expensive house repairs mean that's just a dream for a good while yet.

  • I hope things are OK with you and yours, Puzz.  Not heard from you in a while and just wondered if you've started posting elsewhere instead and I've missed it .  I'm still having problems tracking down what I want on the new forums.

Last time I posted my tumble dryer was leaking.  Still not got it fixed and won't now until repair men (if I can find one in this rural backwater) start venturing into people's homes again.  Good thing the weather has perked up.  My washing lines have been seriously sagging from the weight of all the stuff I've been drying outside.  The last thing I need is for any of the lines to snap.  DH is a hoarder so I expect he's got some surplus washing line somewhere though.  He saves the most weird and wonderful stuff, as people tend to do in the countryside, in case it comes in handy someday.  Although I moan at him to declutter and get rid of stuff I've often been mightily relieved that he's ignored me LOL.  Now my microwave has conked out.  Still just about usable but I'm loathe to risk it as you can't be too careful with the 'waves'.  I ordered another from AO and it was supposed to come yesterday but they phoned to say they are having problems obtaining all sorts of stock and they 'should' get a consignment next Thursday.  I buy most of my electricals online through them.  Good prices and brilliant delivery.

Enjoy the sunshine, even if you can't get out far in it.  Take care xxx

    HI,

Sorry have been AWOL.... sorry you have been having electrical malfunctions, hope all is good with you now. x
  • Afternoon.. I think...

Well Life's certainly changed since I last posted.. I feel like I've retired and generally have no idea what day of the week it is...
Nice weather has been a bit of a pain for me, as keeping my cats in for my anxiety has meant none of us have really used the garden.... OH was ill..covid? who knows.. it went on for about a week but he is all mended now, missing the pub, football and all the events he likes to attend.. He is a key worker so is still getting out and about. I'm also a key worker so although I can't do my usual job I am doing Saturdays at the Food Hub distributing and packing food boxes for the vulnerable.. At least I'm out the house for 8/9 hours one day a week.. We are also doing patrols so can drive around legitimately....

OH picked up dd, the same day he broke.... her little job obviously shut but she has been furloughed ... She is like me and likes being home anyway so we aren't really suffering from not being out... Unlike my Lovely Mother who just won't stay in....

Hopefully we will get an announcement today or tomorrow with an update to what happens next..
Hoping all who read and post are keeping safe and well.

    Love Puzz. x
