Welcome back to reality Puzz. So glad you enjoyed your trip. Like the idea of setting up more savings pots. I have so many attached to our account and always adding more, I think the bank must laugh when they see what I have named some of them....:rotfl:
I'm sure you will get back to the walking soon. I know I am having a lot of bad days lately. I must try harder as well.

    Hello you,

I still haven't started the walking... lazy daisy I am...!! Next week definitely...

My pots all have silly names too....:D

    Morning..

    Not a lot to report...

No word from PraT yet about my 2 debts they have bought.. one of which they notified me was UE so I told them i wasn't paying... the other figure is wrong so I told them i would set up a plan when they provide me with the right figure.... only had an email to confirm my DOB.. nothing else since last week... ho hum...

Still got some pennies in the bank and payday in 9 days..:D

Have been on the treadmill Monday and Tuesday.. today as well unless I go and do an evening visit.. will decide later...

dd planning some extended travel after her course finishes.. hoping the money we have left will cover this... well it will have to...!!!

    Otherwise all just plodding along....

Hump Day again.. and its been a long week...

So Prat emailed back still with the wrong figure so I can see this bouncing around for awhile...!! No payment until its sorted as far as I am concerned.. They again confirmed the other debt is UE but they can still chase for payment.. off you go then...

    Money News..

Sorted 20p 50p and £1 a day pots so banked £20 for the clothes pot and £40 into dd's bus fare pot...

Found 50p in the washing machine.. its all mine....:rotfl:

Payday in 2 days..:j:j And I still have pennies.. well actually pounds.. but will pop into savings on payday...

This is despite saving £55 this month for renewing my passport in the future..

And deciding.to donate 50 Easter eggs to a charity.. well in fairness I've only bought 34 so far so a few more spends to do..

And for the first time ever I have just had a manicure.. a real one.... I haven't had proper nails before but using my Christmas expensive hand cream produced these amazing nails that I needed a professional to sort.. they are now a tidy shape and length.... time will tell if they will stay or not and in which case this could become a regular occurrence but at £12 not too bad I thought..!

No treadmill action so far this week... worked late Monday, shopping delivery confusion last night so couldn't be bothered once we had worked out it was going to be 2 hours later so I had to make an emergency trip to the shop to get the missing ingredient for the planned dinner.. And tonight.. I just can' t be bothered...:rotfl:

Met LF and step mummy to be for a drink, need to sort time to see LM soon.. have ordered photo card from moonpig for mothers day..

dd still planning her travels and no demands for money yet from rental house they are hoping to get.. no doubt it will all happen soon...

    That's about it...

    Plod Plod Plod....

    Its the weekend...:j:j

Busy busy week at work, hoping next week won't be so much...!!

    Money updates..

Rental deposit £640 paid last weekend for house for the Autumn for dd..

Set up payment plan to start in May with Prat..

BF has been having a really tough time lately and she finally came over to see me for an evening of bubbles, she thought she owed £60 on the holiday which she gave me, it was actually £160 but she needs all the pennies she can get so I didn't tell her.... i'm sure I can make up the difference...

Meeting the rest of the girls tomorrow, well those that aren't ill.. shouldn't be too expensive £10ish...

Haircut booked for this week another £30 needed....!

Have completed my charity purchase of Easter eggs now just need to arrange to deliver them.... now started a new house collection of cleaning stuff etc for dd...

She finishes in less than a month.. is going travelling for a couple of weeks and will be home mid may...:T Going to visit relatives this afternoon and hope to discuss sorting her a flight back...

Still holding onto £2k of the last student loan payment, hoping dd won't need anymore for her travels as I'm sure it will be useful for the next year of uni... her accommodation cost is double the loan she will get... But at least I won't need to be saving for deposits and monthly USA health insurance so should be doable...

So still just plodding along.. have only been on the treadmill once so far in April, but in my defense it really was a busy week..

    maybe later...:rotfl:

    :j:j Friday....

And I have a lovely 3 day weekend to look forward too..

So a quieter week at work thankfully...

Lovely brunch out with my girlfriends last weekend, cost £11..:D
and we managed to pin down a date for our next day out as we have been a bit rubbish at getting together so far this year..!!

Booked to deliver my charity Easter eggs next week so I can have my spare room back!

    Hair cut done..

Flights booked for dd, main flight is free, the others cost £170 so not too bad... LM gave me £100... not sure why.. probably just because she's lovely? OH paid for dd's flight so I am doing well on keeping hold of my pennies this week...!!!

Friend over this evening for  and nothing else planned except starting on my list of jobs I want to do around the house and in dd's bedroom...

Contract all sorted for dd's next rental house, I always worry that I will fail the guarantor part but no all fine...

Right best get on with some work....

  • Sounds like everything is going ok for you. :) hope you get on ok doing your jobs. I have a few things I want to get done this weekend.....only because OH is home to help me, otherwise I would rather do jobs during the week and have the weekends free.
Hope the treadmill is going ok....I have to confess I haven't been on mine for nearly 2 weeks now....:(. Definitely need to try harder.

    :j:j Payday....:j:j

Always nice to fill up my saving pots.....

So didn't manage to hold onto all of the remaining student finance as had to pay £200 ish to get dd's bag sent back to UK.. ho hum... and I have just paid the last health insurance bill.. hopefully we won't owe the university anything else....

Have got a new debt of £156 on my cc as needed new glasses.. will sort that out during the month...!

Lovely day out with my girlfriends at the weekend and not too bad at £50 including lunch/travel and an exhibition.. Had pre paid for tickets for the exhibition and girls gave me the cash on the day so I only actually spent £8...

No other socials booked for now.. maybe a takeaway at bff next weekend.. we shall see...

April was a wash out on the treadmill front so I'm determined to get back onto it for May as it its good for my mood and my fat bits...!!!!

No other money news.. all quiet on the DCA front..just how I like it..

    That's about it...

:j:j A lovely long weekend again.....

Blimey its chilly though... thought I would hang the washing in the garden but quickly changed my mind when I stepped outside...!!!

dd's bag set off from the USA on Wednesday afternoon and arrived with me Friday morning... fabulous service!!! She heads off on her travels tomorrow so 11 days of worrying for me.. as I like a good worry.. and then she'll be home.. best get on with sorting out her room...!

No exciting plans here, OH is out playing with his friends at the Rugby and me and the cats are just chilling.. with a bit of cleaning/washing thrown in...! Will head off to a supermarket later for some provisions. just got to choose which one...!!!

May go for Brunch tomorrow or Monday with a girlfriend, yet to be confirmed...

I've been on the treadmill twice so far in May.. not bad its only the 4th... hopefully will manage a few over the weekend.. must keep going puzz....

Nothing exciting to report on the money front.. just still plodding along....

    Have a good weekend..

    :j:j FRIDAY....

But I haven't got that Friday feeling due to probably working Sunday.. hate weekend working.. like the money mind....:D

So dd's currently on her travels, they seem to be doing okay so fingers crossed for the next 6 days and then she'll be home..best get that bedroom sorted..

Feeling a bit off/low today, had optical appointment to have a variety of tests and then had to make my home with very blurry vision and new glasses.. not a great combo.. eyes still sensitive to the light so will take it easy today and just go into the office this afternoon..

    Money News...

    Have received a very generous f & f offer of 70% discount..
This would drop my debt down to 21k's... I do have the money, but like it being where it is, just in case... will do some thinking as the offer doesn't expire till beginning of June.. I can pay over 6 months but have so much I need to save up for with dd's new house rent/dd's 21st/my general love of saving.. etc etc...

Did manage the treadmill the first 2 days of the week but then went a bit t*** up with shopping delivery (any excuse) and no way I could have gone on it last night.. I could hardly see it..!!!

Still 4 times and its the 10th.. umm.. must do better...

Right best get on with things..

I love your posts, Puzz:T. You always manage to put a comical slant on whatever life throws at you. Have subscribed to your diary.

Sorry to hear about your eye problems and I hope your vision is clearer today. Best to not try to do too much when it's like looking through a fog:eek:. My eyesight seems to have got a lot worse over a short period of time. I keep getting eyetest reminders from my optician as it's over 2 years since my last and being an OAP at last (yes getting older does have some advantages;)) I'm entitled to a free test every 2 years:j. I keep putting off making an appointment but feel my current prescription isn't right. I just have a hunch they'll tell me that I have something like macular degeneration or glaucoma or one of the other nasties. Better to know though than just worry about what it might be. My friend recently told me that her niece went for an eye test thinking she might be ready for her first pair of reading specs (at age 40) and was told she was actually going blind:eek:

Can I ask which of your creditors made you such a good offer? I'm debt-free now at long last but have one UE debt that I'm not paying and have no intention of doing. They've started writing to me a lot recently, the tone is getting nastier, and to be honest I'd like to get them off my back by making a ridiculously low 10% F&F offer as I know some others have successfully done with UE debts. The creditor is a real pain and not known for being helpful:mad:. It's L***k. Were they the ones who made you the good offer?
