I love your posts, Puzz:T. You always manage to put a comical slant on whatever life throws at you. Have subscribed to your diary.

Sorry to hear about your eye problems and I hope your vision is clearer today. Best to not try to do too much when it's like looking through a fog:eek:. My eyesight seems to have got a lot worse over a short period of time. I keep getting eyetest reminders from my optician as it's over 2 years since my last and being an OAP at last (yes getting older does have some advantages;)) I'm entitled to a free test every 2 years:j. I keep putting off making an appointment but feel my current prescription isn't right. I just have a hunch they'll tell me that I have something like macular degeneration or glaucoma or one of the other nasties. Better to know though than just worry about what it might be. My friend recently told me that her niece went for an eye test thinking she might be ready for her first pair of reading specs (at age 40) and was told she was actually going blind:eek:

Can I ask which of your creditors made you such a good offer? I'm debt-free now at long last but have one UE debt that I'm not paying and have no intention of doing. They've started writing to me a lot recently, the tone is getting nastier, and to be honest I'd like to get them off my back by making a ridiculously low 10% F&F offer as I know some others have successfully done with UE debts. The creditor is a real pain and not known for being helpful:mad:. It's L***k. Were they the ones who made you the good offer?

    Hi Noella,

    Nice to meet you...!!

Eyes are a worry aren't they, I was expecting bad news so should be jumping for joy today.. maybe when I can see properly again I will try that.. might even burn a calorie at the same time....!!

No my offer was from we**ot, sorry.. I hope you get a good response if you make the offer, as you say it can't hurt and if they don't accept then continue to ignore them.. as a UE debt there's not much they can do other than send pointless threatening letters.. I just ignore all my UE one's.. and don't forget if its past 6 years and you haven't made contact with them they are statute barred anyway..

    :j:j Friday.....

    And dd's home...:j:j:j

Talk about trains, planes and automobiles.. she had a taxi, 3 flights, a train and then OH picked her up.. long journey for her.. hence she's still in bed...:rotfl:.. I also stayed up till past 1 am so was very tired yesterday and still feeling it today...... but good to have her home..

Home working this morning and then off out this afternoon, no weekend plans.. I expect LM will want to come and stare at her sleeping granddaughter at some point!

    Money news..

None.. not no money, just no news. .still haven't decided what to do about the f & f offer.. I fancy reducing my debt by 4K but like having my savings in the bank..... still got 2 weeks to think about it.....

Not a lot else to report...

  • Been absent for a while so been catching up again. We also had F&F offers from W*sc*t accepted, as well as C*b*t. Seems to be a lot of F&F's flying around at the moment. Wonder if Brexit has anything to do with it. I know what you mean about liking having the savings. We went with the C*b*t one and they said we could pay over 6 months, then the W*sc*t one came along and I worked out the pennies and decided we could manage it as they also said we could pay over 6 months. But then you start to think of all the other things you could do with the money...lol. I just really want to get all ours paid asap though really . I am sure you will make the right decision.

    Monring.. well afternoon actually..:D

Payday's been and gone, just done all my pot filling.....:D:D

Got a little extra with some overtime this month, but already spent it...:rotfl:

I have paid out in full for the years house insurance.. and paid out in full for RAC breakdown cover.. ( I do save in a pot for this one..)

Have started a new savings pot to cover house insurance annually from now onwards.. will work towards the car insurance one....

Have decided against doing the f & f offer I was sent.. I know it was a good offer but with dd having another year at uni and all the expenses that incurs I think I'd rather hold onto my savings for now.. I'm sure another offer will be made in the future...

Nothing much else to report. .hoping June will be the month I actually get on the treadmill regularly rather than just looking at it......:rotfl:

    Morning...

What can I report... well I'm feeling rather overwhelmed with my anxiety at the moment so decided I was tired of the hamster wheel and have booked next week off.... No plans but just not to have the normal routine may help..

Nothing exciting on the money front.. I forget how much the food bill goes up when dd's home....

Last weekend consisted of mainly washing and taxiing around... do have a family social this weekend and bff coming over tomorrow for a bubbles evening...

My spare room is full of clothes to Ebay.. friend bought 2 sacks over and dd's had a clear out.. so that will be a job for next week...

Other than that life's a bit dull really... although I have been on the treadmill.. albeit only once...:rotfl:

Sorry to hear you feel 'down' at the moment so it's a good idea to take a week off. Just make sure you don't make yourself ill with all that eBaying. Sounds a lot to list:eek: and I know whenever I do it, even a few items, I'm a knackered wreck when I've
    finished:o

Yay to the tradmilling:T:j. I know, from reading all your diary at one go when I came across it for the first time quite recently that the treadmill has been something of the elephant in the room. Literally:rotfl:. Unless it's a fold-up one that is.

    Take care of yourself x

:j:j Monday Morning..... and I'm on leave.. how nice is that..!!!

Weekend did more clearing, got the charity sacks ready and they got picked up this morning so that's some of the 'stuff' out the house....

Yesterday LM's birthday so a small gathering at relatives for her.. dd went out for lunch and then again in the evening.. I played chauffeur for that one, but it wasn't too late and we knew we were on holiday mode this week.. nice lie in until 8am..!

I did put 13 items on Ebay yesterday, will try and do some more during the week, but don't want to end up with masses to post in one day if they sell...!!

Lots of rain forecast for this week, but that's fine as we are only planning house/shopping things so doesn't matter to us...

Spent £140 on concert tickets for dd and a friend for her birthday.. although the concert isn't until next year...:rotfl:

Today, washing and decluttering. more work on dd's room I expect.. when she wakes up...:rotfl:

Will catch up later in the week, I'm so glad I booked this week off I can feel my shoulders lowering....!!!!

:j:j enjoying my staycation.... getting bits and bobs done and ignoring the housework.. bar washing of course...!

Yesterday we made the decision on the mobile contracts as dd has had 2 since last August as her usual one would have been far too expensive to use in the USA.. so I have cancelled her old one and she is staying with the cheaper one.. saving me £42.41 a month....:T

I will need to pay it in July but then it will go into savings as her other contract is sim only and she will need a new phone at some point, or if her current one lasts till next May she can have my upgrade possibly...

Off to Tesco today to stock up on dd stylee food..... no other plans, maybe a bit more clearing of stuff from somewhere..!!
