Forgot to mention, taking your example I applied for a credit card meant to rebuild credit worthiness. Probably the same one you got. I did it via Noddle. Can't believe how easy the process was and was amazed to be accepted instantly:j. In fact I was amazed that I was accepted at all:eek:

Low credit limit of £500 (and even that's more than I expected) but as interest rates are horrendous:eek: I only intend to use it for small essential purchases that I can pay off in full every payday and never have any interest to pay. No way am I ever going to rack up interest on borrowing and all the horrors that go with it. Let's hope they're not famous last words, eh?

    Hi cbc,

Yep sounds like the same card with the same credit limit... I now have another green up to date on my Credit file.. its the little things in life isn't it.:D I have used it once to buy some petrol and have set up the dd to pay any balance off on due date... no way am I racking up any further debt.. well if you exclude the £4k car loan from lovely father..:rotfl:

    Good Morning.. and its Friday...:j

Only 3 more working days before the big day for me.. excluding today....:D

I will be going into Town this afternoon for work purposes so hope to pick up my wrapping paper so I can continue with that mission over the weekend..! Nieces will be away from Thursday so should try and drop the presents off, I only begrudge doing this because my bruv and SIL are so lackadaisical, we rarely get birthday or Christmas cards and they seem to completely forget that they have nieces and nephews too... will see how I feel.. would mean a run out in the new car so that's a positive...:D

So new car.. yep cbc I have parked it a few times now and I am certainly more choosy than previously.. but now I have had time to study her she has a few war wounds but hey that gives character right....and at least I won't be the first to get her dinked...! Minor concern over some tinny engine noise but will monitor and if necessary contact garage next week. She was fully serviced so in theory all should be well...

I am feeling very upbeat at the moment.. scary really..!

Christmas shopping very nearly completed.. will probably go shopping with dd over the weekend, will suggest we use PT then don't have to worry about big queues for car parking...

DD and I went to the cinema the other night to see Sully, very good film I do recommend.. and then we picked up a cheeky drive thru mcd's for dinner.. yummy..but my waistline is not appreciating it..

Can't wait to start sorting my goals for 2017....

Hope you all have a good friday..

:j Less than a week to the big day and only 3 more 'sort' of working days left.... Not feeling the work love at the minute so doubt I will be very productive...!! Have got a visit this evening and a meeting tomorrow morning, plus a visit to the office to do but expect that will be about it...!

Have been looking back at the year and we did fall behind quite a bit with the proposed payments for 2016. Unfortunately most of this couldn't be helped with car trouble and getting dd sorted for uni, not to mention the rent needed so i am not going to beat myself up but celebrate the positives...

    So achievements..

I have paid off £4515 of my dmp in 2016...:T
I have paid off £1625 to my lovely mother loan and the rest was written off.. :T
    So total debt payment for 2016 = £6140 :T
I also saved £600 for the first rent payment and have £1200 saved for the next 2 payments..:T

Positive v Negative...... I have bought a new car, well new to me.. so a new loan needed of £4000 from lovely father. This has bought me a tremendous amount of pleasure... I think my old car was causing some of my anxiety, always worrying when she will go wrong again, how much will it cost etc... So this is a massive plus.. I know its increased my debt and subsequent speed at repayments but its so worth it....I will continue to save my car money each month but hopefully as I have a years warranty and don't have to pay tax that pot will grow instead of being constantly depleted....

I have my lovely dd home..:j She's very relaxed and happy and looking forward to Christmas.. :xmastree:

Money.. I still have £300+ in the bank, other than a few small gifts to buy and the food shop, I should be able to 'pot' what's left. I will have £525 that I won't be paying to my dmp in January but will need to replenish the pots I raided to pay the £450 for the car... I'm sure it will all balance out...

I feel in a happy place right now.. let's hope we can stay like this into 2017 and beyond.. :D

Plans for 2017... I'm working on them....

That's me done for Christmas.... no more work.. not that I achieved very much anyway..:rotfl: Today I have a free day off.. a concessionary day no less.. never had one before but under my new employer we get this as a gift... not complaining... So no work for 6 days.. lovely.... apart from housework of course.. no escaping that..:rotfl:

Slow start to the holidays for me... one load of washing done and checked the banking.. payday today..:j But have moved it out of current account and stashed it safely in a pot until real payday...

All Christmas gifts purchased.. over budget..:( But it will be a good Christmas..... I have a gift for dd's 'special friend' to collect for her today from Town and need to pay cash into the bank.. big food shop coming later.. £95... Also treated myself to a wine order.. so that was another £48.. Still holding on to £275 in my account.. I really don't want to spend more than £25.. realistically £75 before payday so I can pot the rest....

Out tonight was suppose to be me and bf but another friend texted me last week to say our friend whose mum died in October was really low so I invited both of them as well.. Typically the friend who texted has now blown us out so its just the 3 of us.. I just hope we can do lots of this.. :D:D, sure we can cheer her up.. will be paying mine and bf part from our savings so a free evening for us....

DD out tomorrow, not sure which bit of the day but hoping just the afternoon so we can fit in another Christmas movie tomorrow night.. OH working now until the big day so not back until I am zzzz..

Right best go move some more stuff..... clearing the dining table in readiness..

  • Happy Christmas Puzz, looks like you are well on top of this DMP lark now. Like the new car.

Mrs BB has been struggling recently with work and health so we've taken the big step and decided she can stop working. She was Agency so it was zero hour but will be reducing the DMP payments to fund it. Simply tough, going on a 4 month payment sabbatical proved how easy it is. So will have a leisurely 4-5 years to pay the last 30k and enjoy life ;)

Anyway have a great Festive Period
