Meant to do a multi-quote in my last post but just can't seem to get the hang of it:o

I was curious whether your mother realised that she'd been a total pain in the whatsit when on holiday and is trying to compensate or is just the generous type anyway. I know my mum (who was a constant pain but never realised that she was:eek:)used to take umbrage if anyone even hinted that she had been and would go off in a mega sulk which lasted days:(

    Hi cbc,

Know she definitely knows when she has overstepped the mark.. bless she's lovely really just a bit like a toddler sometimes...!!

Friday...:j:j And dd is on her way home... :j:j

Am suppose to be working but can't get my head round anything, may go into the office this afternoon if dd wants to catch up with her TV.. although I am also going into a neighbours for a drink later only for an hour or so.... will see what she wants to do when she arrives...

Received my new cc... and have set up a dd for full payment every month.. not planning on using it for much, just a regular payment out, payment in.. I want more green markers...!!

No other money news.. creeping towards payday... have opened some new e savings for my planned savings in 2017.. also paid in my £200 to the bank.. that's gone straight into holiday 2017 pot...

Will sort out the creditor letters who need an update in December.. think its only a couple will have to reread my posts...!

Weekend plans.. well dd cuddling...! Only got her for 2 nights as she is off to London Sunday to spend 24 hours with her best buddy.. I have booked her return tickets for Monday straight from London.... she is then back for Christmas in 2 weeks...

Must crack on with Christmas shopping, I have been very slow off the mark this year...maybe Sunday...

    Have a good weekend.

Monday again.. I am sure there are more Mondays than any other day of the week each year....!

So I had dd home for the weekend, I am obviously very poor now.. £60 new trainers in the sale/£20 top up oyster/£20 train ticket for today/£20 cash just because I like her to have some real money.... plus cafe/mcd's and a new book..... all worth it though as I love her dearly... she is making her way back from London today/tonight.. I have asked she not leave it too late as I worry so much, but as she is an adult she will do what she will do.... despite her poor mother going greyer by the minute..

The bad news.. came back from the office and noticed a dark damp patch on the drive... yep oil.... I am guessing it is mine as it looks quite fresh and mine has been on the drive the last few days that I can recall.. so have parked it up and taking it to the garage in the morning. unless OH tells me he has a leak in which case I will cancel.... can't ring him as the silly fool has left his phone here today.... if it goes in lets hope its easily fixable and cheap.. not sure those are 2 words known to garages.....

On the upside it is payday tomorrow.. and I got my overtime.. but that will pay my increased mobile bill from my holiday...

Will start to sort letters for creditors and really must do some serious saving towards a new (er) car... I know I can borrow from lovely mother if I am desperate but would like to at least have some.. currently new car fund stands at £1...!!!

Still not feeling that well, sort of head cold type thing.. oh well I expect it will shift eventually...

Lots of things to do this week, so could really do with the car being sorted quickly. fingers crossed...

Right best log on to work and see what's happening...

So glad you had a lovely weekend with DD:T. Forget the extra outlay, you don't often get to spend time with her. Quality time is more precious than money;)

I know that sinking feeling only too well when something goes wrong with my car and I have to take it in for attention:eek:. Mine is a 2002 vintage so I know it won't last forever without costing me something but at the moment it's playing nice:j. Glad it is after all it cost me this last year when just about all the essential parts died over a few months:mad:.

    Good luck:beer:

So today.. blimey its chilly.. typical on the day the car's going to the garage... so 4 walks later and I have it back..Has been repaired was me leaking and bill of £96.83 so not too bad... had enough in my car fund to pay for it and once I sort my mileage claims out for Oct/Nov which will be paid in Dec that will cover the next 6 months tax..

:j:j Payday... always good.. and no water to pay for next 4 months so that will be allocated to a pot...! Also got my last (for all creditors) reduced dmp payment this month so after I take out the part for dd's rent think I will have an extra £150.. plus no loan to lovely mother so another £200... lots of potting to do ...

Stressful evening as I knew it would be .. dd didn't leave London early as I predicted, she got a bit cross with my texting her and as OH reminded me she is a grown up now.. she texted me at 11.06 to let me know she was home safe and I have fined myself £20 for being an overanxious parent.. well I have paid it to her.. might teach me to stop worrying so much...

Lovely mother heading over for a cuppa shortly and then a chilled evening in front of the tv for me .. I am going to try and feed myself/us from the freezer as much as possible for the next month, get it cleared down..

Thursday I have a friend popping by and we will probably go out for something to eat.. could do without the expense as I am also out on Saturday for my girls Christmas meal.. still that's the only 2 socials I have planned...!

    Jobs to do..

Christmas shopping and write Christmas cards.. May get the cards out tonight and make a start... hope to get into town at the weekend and do some physical shopping, but do need to pop to my brothers as well as it is my niece's birthday.. won't stay long.. I don't do 4 year old's on mass....

    That's about it for a chilly tuesday..:snow_grin

Monday again... and less than 3 weeks until... :xmastree:

Feel a little more organised after hitting the shops yesterday.. money going fast mind and still have 2 big presents to pay for... although I haven't taken a contribution from OH yet so should be okay...

Felt low again mid/end of last week so have made yet another appointment at the gp for friday.... dd also low and so that makes me more sad.... less than a week and she's home... :)

Friend came over Thursday but we didn't have food, she left at 8 and I had a fish finger sandwich so saved some pennies.. I also cancelled going out Saturday night as I was really not in the mood for socialising and I always organise these nights out and obviously usually go, so I didn't feel too bad missing this one.. even if it was our Christmas Jolly... They had a good time anyway...

So lovely mother was back with her demands for dinner out, so I have given in and agreed to that on Thursday evening.. but that's it.. no more social for puzz this year.. well that's my current plan..

Have printed off financial statement for M & S and done a letter and will post that later.. Will sort 2 in January to start in Feb and the others are staying at £5 until April unless they ask nicely..:rotfl:

Cars still leaking oil.. so going back in on Wednesday, they did say they weren't sure if it was leaking from more than one area so no doubt more spends there to come....

Roll on the weekend and getting my dd back and then getting some festive spirit into the house.. no tree yet... have nearly finished writing Christmas cards though and will start some wrapping this week as well..

    Here's to a good week..

oops..... remember that loan that I paid off from lovely mother.. well she scrapped the last few payments.. I am seeing her this evening and will be asking for another.... can't be helped.. unfortunately my little car is terminally ill.. will cost £1500 to repair.. still able to be driven but leaking oil so not a long term prospect...bit sad as I love my little old car and the timing isn't great with dd off at uni but was going to come at some point so may as well be now...

So I am looking at little runarounds in the £4 - £4.5k bracket, quite new as in 2/3/4 years old so hopefully will keep me going till the end of the dmp...

At least this time it is a loan for actually buying something I need rather than consolidating.....

Will let you know how it all pans out...!

Off into the office shortly.. best show my face as they haven't seen me since Monday.. :D

That's a shame about your car. I know exactly what you mean about being fond of your current 'old' car. I feel exactly the same about mine. We've had a lot of adventures together and whenever OH has pointed out ads in the local paper for much newer ones and advised me to upgrade I get all defensive and dig my heels in. I know the time will come some day and when the repair/maintenance ceases to be cost effective I'll have to bite the bullet and buy another:eek:. Like you, I know it's pointless throwing good money after bad. At the moment mine's behaving very nicely though:j

Sadly, I don't have a lovely mother(or anybody else for that matter) to borrow money from so I need to make a massive effort to save up to pay for one:eek:

It's always exciting shopping for a 'new' car, whatever price range it's in. Have fun.. Good Luck:)
