Have located the type of car I intend to buy and have 2 dealerships that have the car available so next step.. shopping.. but it will have to wait until next week as I have my weekend planned...well I say that now but who knows whether it will change..

I will update as I go along.. quite exciting really a new car for christmas.... I may wrap it...!

Great news for you about the interest-free loan from Dad. Easier payments will certainly make life less stressful for you:beer:. Now, where's that green with envy smilie?:o

Talking about wrapping your new car made me smile. I was delivering Phone Books and crunched up a really long gravel driveway to a very big and posh house. There outside was a brand new Mini Cooper in bright fuchsia pink:eek:. A woman was getting out of it and I said something like 'What a wonderful colour, I didn't know they made Minis in pink'. She said she'd only had it 2 days, her husband knew it was her favourite colour and ordered a brand new car as a 40th birthday present for her and had it resprayed in that colour as a surprise. She said the first she knew of it was when she arrived home to find it parked in the driveway completely wrapped in 'happy birthday' paper and ribbons and with a massive bow on the top. Now, where's that green with envy smilie again?:rotfl:

I'm sure we'll enjoy and appreciate our 'new' cars just as much, if not more:beer:

:rotfl: Told you I just pick one I like..... I've put down a deposit.. to collect on Tuesday...:j

It was at the dealership nearest to me but I would need to take dad with his money so they are taking it to the dealership near him.. it will be fully serviced, 1 year warrenty, doesn't need tax.. it is a little peugeot ( my current one is a peugeot) 14 plate, with less than 8K on the clock. and in my favorite colour red... excited...They knocked off £200 for my old car and so I will pay £450 and borrow 4K from lovely father.. Now let's hope it is a good runner.. it will be named by dd on Tuesday..

Here we go again another loan to pay back....

Right enough of this car shopping, I need to do some work...

Wow, you certainly don't hang about do you?:rotfl:

It sounds lovely and a bargain to boot:T. Red is one of my favourite car colours too, although I also love white. White cars seemed to go completely out of favour for years, everything was silver for ages, a colour I can't stand:(. A few years ago white came back into fashion again:j so by the time I'm in the market again I might manage to pick one up. If not I hope I can find a red one.

My current car is a deep metallic green which is nicer than it sounds especially under a light or in bright sun;). Wouldn't have been my first choice though but at the time it was too big a bargain to pass by. My financial troubles were just starting to bite and beggars can't be choosers.

I've never had a Peugeot, not for any reason other than none ever came my way. My brother has had a few over the years though. I'm pretty shallow when I opt for a car:o. It has to look nice (to me anyway, I'm not into impressing anyone else). If I spot one on a forecourt that immediately catches my eye I'll have it regardless of the brand or whether it's a gas-guzzler or not:eek:. Of course, these days the price factor looms larger than most other considerations so it has to be cheap as well.

I forgot to mention before that the guy who bought the bright pink mini as a gift for his wife also put a personalised number plate on it. It was one of those that cost thousands (with the letters spelling a name). Now why didn't I find a partner who would shower me with gifts like that? Or with more money than sense;)

It will be really reassuring for you to have a new reliable car before the winter really sets in. I wish you years and years of happy and safe driving:beer:

    forgot to add..

noddle updated at the weekend and Lowells are now reporting my bought creation debt as late payment.. umm no this has to have been defaulted to have been sold is how I understand it so complaint letter sent...

whilst I was at it I did my complaint letter to NW for not updating my loan payments for another 6 months.. oh I do like a complaint letter...

Also I cheekily (never have before) ordered myself a home delivery pizza the weekend before last.. it was cold and I complained at the time but they weren't really interested but offered me another.. no thanks. so I complained to HO and they have refunded my money..:T

And when checking my bank account I noticed a double payment for something I ordered dd.. straight on the phone and the refund has arrived...

    That's it folks.. for now...

You've probably already left to pick up your lovely new car by now but when you get back you'll see that I'm wishing you lots of pleasure from it and hope you'll enjoy years of happy, safe and trouble-free driving :T:dance::j

I'm just about to go into complaint mode myself, this time on OH's behalf. His TV remote has been playing up and he wanted to make sure he had a fully working one for the Christmas period. He watches a lot of films both on TV and DVD. He uses the main set (massive screen and all the extras) while I prefer my smaller more basic model in a different room most of the time. We never want to watch the same stuff, he likes banging and crashing action movies and I certainly don't:rotfl:

He went to Currys at the weekend and bought a Universal Remote Control which I told him before he opened it up probably wasn't suitable. His TV is a Smart one (although he only understands and uses a fraction of its features)and his current remote is about twice as big as the Universal onewith rows of extra buttons on it. He's a technophobe and hasn't a clue. He put batteries in to try it out and of course it didn't work:(. He took it back and the assistant said they don't accept returns of items that have been opened:eek:. How are you supposed to know if it works unless you try it? He saw the manager who also refused and who pointed out a sign in the store which confirmed non-return of opened packages. They couldn't care less and nonchalantly told him to contact Head Office if he wasn't happy. That's what I'm about to do now. He is prepared to just let it go, it was under £20, but it's the principle and I'm up for a fight;)

So Puzz has a new (ish) car and a new loan to go with it.... The car is lovely, she has been named by dd and got the thumbs up from her and OH so all good..!

In the last 4 years I have paid off £30k.. £20k to dmp and £10k to lovely mother... I now owe £40k on dmp and £4k to lovely father.. hoping to get that paid back in about 2 years (the loan not the dmp..) although I have 40 months in reality so no panic...

I need to sit and do figures, I must allocate an amount towards the next car fund each month as I really don't want to have to borrow from either parent again.... will have a play with figures again before I send off my FS and offers to other creditors..lucky it will be a new year soon and I love a plan in a new year...!

    Spends..

Will be taking dd to cinema tonight but got 241 with meerkat movies...
    £10 lottery for work.
Crisis at Christmas donation to do today as well...
Last minute social (only PE) with some of the girls next week, BF and I will use some of our saved pennies to cover our costs..

8 days until payday, but will be moving that straight out into a pot until real payday on the 29th...

Could do some overtime at the weekend if I fancied it... will decide nearer the time.... downside shops/parking will be really busy and I tend to avoid the shops this close to Christmas when I can.. I suppose I could use public transport if any of it is running.. will ponder...

Tomorrow will be heading off to work on the other borough as they are so short staffed, we are suppose to be doing this 1 day a week.. I have managed 1 day so far...:rotfl: Costs me £4.50 in parking each time, (can claim the public transport bit back..) and I have already been over for a meeting on Monday.. will definitely try to get there tomorrow as I really don't want to next week...!

That's about it folks.. will be bobbing off in my little car in awhile to the office..

Sounds as if you've a busy time ahead;)

I remember when I bought one of my cars, I wasn't worried about money in those faraway days and that car was the best and most expensive I ever owned. Even then it wasn't new when I got it, it was 3 months shy of 3 years old. I was totally in love with that car:o and ended up keeping it for years longer than I should have but I couldn't bear to part with it. The day after I brought it home OH wanted to give it a good workout on a long drive. I'd bought it totally without any input from him and he wanted to do his macho car expert 'thing';).

We drove to a city about 40 miles away that we don't go to often because it's a tourist magnet and parking is horrendous:eek:. He loved driving it by the way, at least I got something right by opting for that one:rotfl:. He found a carpark still with lots of spaces at that time of day but I knew it would get completely full later. Every space he thought of parking my lovely baby in I found something wrong with, I kept saying 'no, not here, drive on'. I wanted to make sure it was left in the best possible, safest bay:o. Silly really because after a couple of weeks I'd become very blase and was parking in all sorts of weird little spaces:rotfl:
