So.. its Monday.. again... lazy weekend, very money saving keeping away from the shops.. bar a small spend on 2 tops for work from the charity shop £6.58...
Finally had a response from the PRAT.. my complaint to them was the account should have been defaulted long before they took over by BC.. they have done investigations and decided I am right..:D and will apparently change the default to March 2015, doesn't really make much difference as a few of mine were 2015 defaults but I do like a win and they have also given me 1 month's dmp payment.. how generous...!!! Will write back and tell them they can join my SM dmp in July...
Have scared myself a little over the weekend doing student finance... dd will only get the basic maintenance loan, which doesn't even cover the accommodation... so that's an immediate £200 a month top up not including everything else she will need...!
Luckily and hopefully my lovely mother loan will end in December so that will free up £200 a month... and I may have to drop my dmp payments down for the months between dd starting and my loan finishing.. OH will also be contributing of course but I don't think its fair for him to have to pay all of it...I am sure it will all work out.. and that's assuming she gets the grades and actually goes...!!!
OH back from his holiday and has given me all his euro's... 250e.... so that's a nice start to my November spending money...
Not a lot else to report today.. roll on the weekend...!

Me again..
Have been having a think.. and although I didn't need to borrow the money to pay for my car repairs my creditors don't know this... so..... I am going to do a reduced payment in June of 50% and stash the other 50% to help with the first few months uni costs.. I already have £200 from not paying PRAT or Lowell's for a few months so that would give me £500 in the kitty....
I have written the letters and will send them with a copy of my repair bill... doesn't mean I won't have to reduce my payments for a time later in the year but fingers crossed.....
Of course car is due mot next week so all could change again....
Any thoughts?

Hello Puzz,
Sorry its been a while but I just had a quick catch up -
Sorry that car has been a pain, and if it eases things for the start of uni in a few months, then reduced payment is fine - you can only do what you can manage. Good luck to DD with examsMy dd only got the minimum loan too, it is hard the first year! but then she managed to save some money from her summer job last year, and we haven't had to give very much this year (but am paying for crash driving course instead), she said she was really pleased with herself this year because she hasn't had to ask for top up money - whereas her friends all have allowances which they blow well before the end of term - am very proud of her as she has become very money savvy:)
Have a lovely week

Hi Noah,
Thank you for dropping by, I know you are very busy at the moment.
Lovely to hear about your dd, she sounds like she is doing so well, a chip off the old block some might say..!! And your ds taking early gcse's.. You must be a very proud mum...!
Mine is upstairs revising.. bless, although would rather be out browsing a book shop so we might do that this afternoon...
Take care you.

Happy Tuesday...
So I have an extra day off as the car was in the garage for its dreaded mot... and she passed..:D:D:D So only £39 to pay and a recommendation for some new tyres which I will sort later in the summer...
Have got soaked twice coming back from the garage and then going to pick her up again.. dried off soggy trainers with hairdryer.... not very :money:
Lovely evening out last night with my bff for her birthday, all very moneysaving as we use our savings pot so no spend to my bank account....
Have sent letters to all creditors advising of reduced payment on the 3rd not sure how they will respond but hey, I've done it now so tough...! I did get a letter back from PRAT saying they couldn't set up a payment plan as my proposed payment on 3rd July was more than 35 days away.. I emailed back to state they said account on hold for 30 days so when that runs out it would only be 20 days until they receive payment and to stop sending me silly letters....
So after this payment my dmp stands at 29.1% paid.. Will hit that magical 30% next month....:T
That's about all my news for today.. hope its drier where you are, I may need to borrow Noah's Ark over here....:rotfl:

Welcome to borrow the ark anytime Puzz:), though its taken a battering with all this rain here too.
Both DS and DD are good kids, so I am a very happy mum:) despite all my moans and groans!
DD's will power puts me to shame:o. She'd overdone the unhealthy snacks somewhat whilst meeting essay deadlines etc this term, but since she's been home, she has been strict with us all - she's lost 5lb through cutting out snacks/biscuits and exercising 40min every day:T
I, however have not because I have a secret stash she doesn't know about:rotfl:
Great news about car

Morning..
I am being horribly unproductive with work today... umm... Have done 2 loads of washing and got it out in the garden.. well more of a meadow actually as my grass is sooo tall.....!!!!
House insurance quote from current provider was £3 a month more than I could get with Tesco's.. so a phone call done and a more realistic quote which is now less than Tesco's....
Have also purchased some tickets to see a ballet in London with dd the day after her 18th.. she doesn't really want to do anything but has mumbled on occasion about seeing a ballet so that's what we shall do... combined with a long browse round the biggest bookshop in the world I believe.. (dd loves books..) and a cheeky nando's I expect.. she doesn't want a party or anything like that, doesn't wear jewellery.. just loves books.. So no doubt I will be buying the usual ton of them for her big day... once I get the list.... :rotfl:
Did a few hours overtime on Saturday and have some more this Saturday.. every penny helps....!
Lovely mother's birthday this week and she has invited herself to dinner.....:)
All quite on the creditor front despite only receiving 50% payment this month..
That's about it, best go and do some work.....
