How does anyone know that you have a disabled person with you and they are not sat at home in front of the fire while you use the BB to secure free/better parking spots?
Why would someone drive into a further education establishment's car park just to park up and have a smoke? The questioner had obviously not even looked for the blue badge before jumping in as the OP pointed out he came from the back. I have enver seen a BB anywhere near the back of a car.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Actually, I didn't complain about him questioning me, I complained about him asking if I had a BB, which was clearly on display on the dashboard, which he would have seen if he had looked, rather than approaching the car from behind. And should he have asked to examine it, I would have gladly shown it to him.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
having said the above, maybe you will understand what i mean....
although physically able, i cannot go to the doctors/supermarket/for a paper ( bit pointless as i cant read a paper ;)0....
yet people unable to walk without 'aids' 9crutches, wheelchairs, mobility scooters) have said that i shouldnt receive mobility benefits because i am 'only blind'
my now deceased mother in law had COPD to the point where she was almost unable to take a step. she was permanently on oxygen and even struggled to eat through shortness of breath ....
but she used to take me shopping because once she was in her scooter, i was more disable than she
I certainly don't begrudge you your mobility benefits for being 'only blind', as someone who's suffering right now, I would rather put up with my pain than be blind, even though I don't get disability benefits. I've been told to claim them by the disability adviser at my WFI, but I still don't think I'm there yet. I just really can't imagine the daily struggles you go though nannytone, just think it must be really scary at times.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

I would hate to be blind I must admit.
I don't get anything for mobility, too old, although my reduced mobility is due to disease rather than age.
Just glad I can afford the scooter.0 -
id hate to be in pain, in fact i cant imagine anything worse.
but this also ties in with the bedroom tax argument.
i have been fortunate that my KA reclassified the only 2 1 bed places in my market town. i didnt apply the usual way ( through the council) but badgered my housing manager until he caved in and risked the wrath of the council.
but if they hadnt been reclassified, i would have been stuck in the 2 ved place.
or move to another town that is totally unfamiliar and with no support or friends.
that is a far bigger issue than getting a seat on the bus or a car parking space!0 -
Think that's what we both have babes, fear of the unknown. You with constant pain, me with eyesight.
Yes, you were very fortunate that they reclassified those flats, and that you got allocated one of them. A good battle won for you4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

iy was a right place at the right time scenario. i am kucky to have a good HA, that go out of their way to help.
i didnt realise that both of the flats were empty ( they both had curtains up so the upper flat seemed lived in ) and there was only 1 listing on the council website.
there were 52 bids on the upper flat and it was given to a single male who was preciously living with parents.
my council gives no priority to people wanting to downsize. he had a higher priority as he wasnt already accomodated.
i know im sorted but there are plenty that arent.
ive said before that in principle, i agree with the policy.
but while people who are willing to downsize have nowhere to go .... it is just holding people to ransom0 -
Hilarious posts keep em comin' lol0

I would give up if I were you Mazza! No matter what you say to WWF, it will receive an argumentative retort from him/her. You could say you just found a cure for cancer, and you will be met with a sarcy response. Don't waste your breath responding ... I'm not :beer:0
