Have you done any research on the vendor's solicitor yourself?

    Hi King

I dint personally, but they are just few streets away n definitely there.

just to add i can see a credit check done by halifax on my report yesterday as well

i have tried SOL as well, they saying they called several times and cant do anymore unless bank responds

so we are out of house since 14 days , our stuff has been split and left into 3 diff houses (mates)

the vendor has vacated the house for us last night thinking we will needs keys in the morning

i seriously doubt its something to do with vendors solicitor

i mean how much time does it take to verify a accountant/solicitor etc

I suggest you call Halifax now, speak to the manager at completions and ask them to read the notes from the screen about what is going on and why is it going on.

Genuinely not seen anything like this, what if part of a chain??

Kingstreet - this has to be a Solicitor covering for a previous error - surely??

I don't know what to make of it, TBH.

I can't remember ever coming across something like this before and I'm not sure I'd be able to do much more than escalate to Business Development Manager.

    Hey Guys

Just wanted to update, a lady from HALIFAX called to inform my SOL the hold has been released, so just going to keep fingers crossed and wait.

I just called HALIFAX myself to check, but the advisor couldn't get into my application as he said looks like some else is working on the application(so may be this is a sign of money being released ?)

so i just hope even if i can verify end of day that the money is in SOL account , ill be more then happy with one more sleepless night

    Hi Dave,King

Just got off phone with Halifax cust service. just like yesterday another very helpful lady answered and after putting me on hold for few minutes

she confirmed , that the verification team have completed checks on Vendors solicitor and the report was fine and case is now with completions team

so my SOL just needs to call and request funds
  • I'm really hoping there is no update because you are looking round your new house. I hope things were resolved.
