going for a couple of HHCs on the sewing machine at 10am anyone want to join me?

I'll join you in HH admin! I need to email Mr A - they've sent "Large Navel Oranges" at £1.75 but charged me for "Large Citrus" at £2.35. Then the 500ml bottle of cooking oil turns out to be a chiller one so I'll be contacting my5upermarket to tell them they could do with indicating that on the item info! I thought I was getting a small bottle of sunflower or veg oil from the shelf :(

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning
Am at paid stuff, just checking in between jobs. Still thinking the nursery situation. Get this: currently I pay £39 per day  for DD which will go down to £37 next month (c£470 per month for 3 day week). In Jan she gets her early years funding so they reduce it by c£150 per month (they annualise it as they are open 51wks / year) so £320 per month, £74pw from Jan. If she goes to school nursery I will pay for 1 wraparound afternoon, two "tea" clubs and one brekki club per week which would cost £42. Of course thats term time only however inlaws have said they would have DS at half term and in summer hols, so if they will have DD too (sure they would) then thats a huge saving!
I realise I'm prattling here, and I need to account for 2 lunchtimes so I'll call and see how that works.

Deco, have you considered joining WAY? I've made lots of friends and found it a great support. There is quite an active group in my area, we meet for meals / nights out etc. There is also an online community (mostly facebook at the moment but they are developing a website with members area too) to stay in touch with people.

I've just caught up from the end of last week!! Worked 3 full days Wed, Thur & Fri, then slept for 14 hours Fri into Sat. Had my first work-free weekend since about June. It was fab - went to the Cake & Bake show at Earl's Court on Sat with my 2 best friends (sat at front for Rosemary Shrager demo, very interesting - and funny - boy that woman is loud :p) and saw Luisa Zissman (she is tiny). Sunday me, DD & DS visited friends we've not seen for quite a while - I'm godmother to their youngest son - how did he get to be nearly 18?!! - and then lunch with my parents. Perfect.

Yesterday was spent catching up on laundry and watching the weeds disappear from my front garden (lovely gardener man).

Happy belated birthday Dot x Loved the family pics, piggers x
Hugs to CY and anyone else in need/want :A
Slap round the chops with a wet haddock for valli's KH
Love to all - 'see' you later.

  • In my 2 x HHC I managed to make inroads into one of yesterday's tasks. It's definitely not finished, so that'll be more for a few more HHCs before I move onto the next unfinished task from yesterday. I also put the BM on and found the remnants of a wishbone that the cat had nicked and snacked on. Ooops.

 Daisy. I can't believe there are four of us Flyladies in this tiny city! Deco: Difficult decision for you; Bossy's suggestions sounds helpful; (((hugs))). Congratulations Kazw! (((Hugs))) CY, it sounds as though you're really going through it at the moment. Congratulations Ionafan on your DH's discharge from horsepiddle - at last! And Valli, not only is your ex a KH, he's also a stingey !!!!!!. 1 wok? Tw*t.

I'm waiting for the antiques man to come and pick a couple of things up, but as he hasn't phoned yet, I strongly suspect he won't be doing so, after all. It means I'm stuck in the house and Mrs Dog is getting restless. Decisions decisions.
    Better is good enough.

Just having a cuppa, then work and then back to it. DD has netball after school today so I have an extra hour to do some stuff.......

Hope all are well and hugs and spoons to those in need xx
    • Morning all,
hung up last nights load from the WM and put on the clean cycle before heading to the office, will properly update list when I get home.

Madcatgirl tell me about it! When we decided to make an offer on the house and think about renting the flat the bathroom needed completely redecorating! It actually looked like a bomb site, holes in the plasterboard, wallpaper stripped, flusher broken on toilet.... I'd been in process of re decorating and had got as far as putting in the new shower cubicle so it was usable. It had been left like that for a couple months haha so mad dash to get that completed. Next big job is to paint the bedroom but planning to get that done this week.

Bright day here today and the car said 9.5 this morning (improvement on yesterdays 5.5!).

hugs to all who need them
