    Hello x
Im going to fly very gently this week. I have had a horrendous two weeks as my Dad was rushed into intensive care and has made a miraculous recovery:A Anyhow I need to do lots of dot-to-dots and 10 minute challenges and rest etc

    Kind regards x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Monday Mayhem - Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    15 minutes...
[STRIKE]Vacuum through the living room, hall and stairs[/STRIKE]
    30 minutes to spare..
    [STRIKE]Dusting, even if around everything[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe[/STRIKE] still a bit of stuff on table, but manageable
[STRIKE]Clean windows and all glass.. including the tv screen[/STRIKE] haven't done all windows, but some
[STRIKE]Clear the mantel and only put back the items which are supposed to be there.. and that doesn't include letters, keys or other treasure![/STRIKE]
    Got an hour..
    [STRIKE]Wipe and water plants[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Put all your hotspots in one pile[/STRIKE] and work your way through it.. that'd be the dining room table, work in progress
[STRIKE]Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself[/STRIKE]

Feel pleased with that lot, although to be fair it wasn't in a bad state to start off with. Also:
-making progress on business/office setup and have set up lists for what needs to be done, under organised categories
    - applied for Uni car park pass
    - various emails to check on work and set up various systems
    - :mad:reluctantly given up on wireless mouse and keyboard as they just jump the cursor all over the place and wrecked an email which really interrupted my train of thought. Irritating as I hate wires everywhere. think the keyboard was causing the most problems; perhaps I'll give the mouse another go.

Had reply from 2 of last year's students; they want me again :j so that is some work. 3 more 'returners' to reply, then I can get some idea of what space I have for others.

Plan for evening - empty at least 1 bag from the floor of the office, sort 1 more shelf (did 2 this morning) and need to do a comparison as house insurance due.

CY hugs to you, you've got a lot to deal with at the moment.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Afternoon all! Been busy flying today.

CY - hugs to you and thinking positive for your mum
Lynsayjane - we seem to be in similar situations, moving house in a few weeks and renting out our flats! What is Toots moving list and where can I get my hands on it!!:rotfl:

Good news today, that the developers have fixed the completion date on our flat for 5 days before the baby is due...:eek:I'm glad it's before he's due and not pushed out any further! It means I have to get on with sorting stuff for the move now, so no excuses!

    My list is looking like:
    • Go through larder and meal plan what can be used up - also use up all freezer food before vinyl fitter comes
    • [STRIKE]Wash maternity pillow and baby slings[/STRIKE] - put away
    • Research home insurance for new house
    • [STRIKE]Book in vinyl floor fitting man for next week[/STRIKE]
    • Spend half an hour packing up the "posh" tea set.
    • Sort out money and spends for the past few days.
    • Buy "essential" things for my hospital bag
    • Research Landlord's insurance for flat
    • [STRIKE]Speak to developers [/STRIKE]and solicitors - [STRIKE]hope to fix completion date on the house[/STRIKE]
    • Go through flat, make a list of all areas which need to be painted, start painting them.
    • Transfer birth preferences plan from notebook to maternity notes

Well except for the baby, if one of those appears anytime soon up here I'll be looking like

My Toots list was actually done before I started posting in OldStyle. There were a number of things I had planned to do to the flat before the move was decided (very sudden and unplanned!). When we started planning for the move and renting it our I decided there were some that still had to be done. For example when my kitchen went in 7 years ago the 12cm of skirting between the living room and kitchen walls was removed as it needed a little nick out of it to fit in with the unit. This was never done haha which was fine when I was here but couldn't really be left like that when I was moving. So I made a list broken down into each room of all the jobs that needed doing before the tenants could move in.
I've now added pages of companies etc that need to know and things I need to organise (EPC's, insurance etc).

So in summary, there is no set Toots list, you need to make it yourself :rotfl:

Have been out all day so I'm just decluttering a much-needed cuppa. DH has been signed off by the hospital :T and we had a lovely lunch out with friends - our final fling before we start SW tomorrow

Hope Dot had a happy birthday! My DS1 has asked if the four of them can come to us for tea on DGD1's birthday next week :j so I am delighted that the DR floor is now level and the doors should be in place by the end of this week, so that we can turn it into a temporary snug where DGDs1+2 can play safely, and we can just shut the door on the unfinished lounge :D

CY, big hugs for you, your sister, your mum and all the family, and early appointment vibes for your DH.

Molly41, hope your dad continues to recover well.

Don't wear yourself out, Madcatgirl - you will need to conserve your strength for that baby. Good luck!

I think we might go shopping at 1ke@ this evening - I need to get DGD's birthday present and a bread bin for us ;)

    aaargh

KH said he and partner had a box of pots for DS for uni. Brilliant; I thought, so I bought food, bedding, other stuff. Mum helped. Sunday he mentioned this box. 'Just send the whole lot and we will sort through and give back what he doesn't want'.

    So he sends

    a wok.

Can't find the rest. They don't have 'that' box, apparently.

So off I go out again to buy plates, a pan and a few other bits DS will need if he'd to cook (thankyou Morrison's 'savers'!

So I text him and ask if he can make a contribution.

He's skint until payday apparently. But he has given DS a card with some money in, for his birthday.
    £20.

This from a man who has made contributions according to the CSA calculation, for 3 years for ONE child only because DS was over 16 even though he's at school.. We have two.

    An effing wok.

Normally I wouldn't wish evil on anyone - but it's a good job I cba to drive over there and give him a piece of my mind. He had a huge cash settlement from me 'to buy a house' and he's been in rented ever since - so he's clearly frittered it all away...
