Fizz.. the next step is making them get out their own uniform the night before.. it helps lots when they can do that themselves and they are sorted for adult life too.. Mine get theirs when they get their pjs on. I get Squeaks out too now and she is usually dressed by one of the older ones (8 and 10 and 12) after she has eaten her breakfast
Food time... I ate very little yesterday and am now starving to death.
Fair point well made, pigpen, I'm not a fussy mum who won't let them do things for themselves, but if I don't nag they won't do it and I'm getting sick of the sound of my own whining voiceI've been thinking of doing a room and uniform inspection before they're allowed to touch Xboxes or 3DSes, that might encourage them to pick up after themselves a bit more. One can but wish!
I can't fit all of their ironing into their drawers -- not helped by the fact they only have a 3-drawer malm unit between them. I suggested we get a taller set so things are less cramped but that was poo-pooed by DH as apparently DSS won't be able to lie in his bed and play his Xbox all weekend if the drawers are higher as that what he puts the tv on  So what?! He is a lovely young man, far nicer than most other 16 year old boys tbh, but he spends FAR too much time gaming. So in the meantime were going to have to have a big "try on" session to clear out some space.
Anyhow, my list is completeThink I'll vacuum the bedrooms and dust the boys room and our bedroom too. Not setting foot in the girls room until DSD has tidied up her muck, DD did it before I took her home yesterday afternoon and its already like a pit again.
I need to remember to have a polite word to DSD about her wearing DD's clothes -- she is a good two sizes bigger than DD and so far has ripped a pair of jeans and stretched DD's favourite shorts so much she can no longer wear them  I foresee the old chestnut "so you're saying I'm fat" getting chucked in my face :rollyeyes:0 -
has anyone been watching what remains on bbc1? It has just been the last part and my heart was in my mouth and i had tears in my eyes, i have not seen such a good tv drama from the bbc.
It was brilliant, then again, I really like David Threlfall. He scrubs up nicely.(He played Frank in Shameless, in case you're wondering what I mean.)
As something honks in our hallway, I'm pleased that it's the first room of the week :rotfl:
Anyway, washer at work has finished so I'll go and hang out those towels.

Hugs to CY, sounds like you need them, hope its not as sinister as your sis seems to think (hug)
Piggers, DD "best friend" is just a month older then DD but will start school a year earliermost of her playmates are a few weeks older and so she will be left in nursery when they all leave
it's such a shame.
I'm thinking 'aloud' so feel free to ignore this bit:
I've been wondering about moving DD - she is just turned 3 last week so can go to school nursery from Jan, but would spend 5 terms there before going to reception. Now I didn't like the idea of this but a) the private nursery are (obviously) more expensive and they are starting to pee me off with the new office manager, she is useless and b) school is having a new building so DD could have 2 terms in the old nursery and 3 in the new, although its the same school it will still be a changearound for her, as I am worried she'll get bored with too long in one place.
But that also means she will be leaving her current friends. Argh What to do for the best???Bossymoo

I Agree I do have a thing for the older man, it made me like him even more when he told Vidya to run, unusually they say help me I know its all made up but it made me think awwwwwww, my OH is 40 much to the horror of my family he is 16 years older then me :rotfl:
I have done breakfast, walked DD to school done 3xWM 2 and on the line which includes bedding, and dishes.0 -
Bossy.. I'd move her to the school nursery.. she will make new friends there she will start school with rather than trying to infiltrate the ready made friend groups. They make friends very easily at this age so that won't be an issue especially if her best friend is leaving anyway.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

CY - sending positive wishes for you, your family and your Mum - stay strong xx
Bossy - If you aren't truly happy with current arrangements, then follow your gut. Little Miss Moo will adapt and have a wider circle of friends from the off.
Pigpen - Wonderful piccie.
Well it's persisting down here. TD is on much to my annoyance. I've been out into the barn to saw and chop wood - boy it's hard work, but I have at least broken the saw so can't do any more for a while
Pots have been done, beds made, rooms aired. Now going to combine taking a heap of carp to the tip after bottoming DD's bedroom of "little girl" stuff yesterday. Will combine this with being blown off a cliff with the pooch and a food shop once the car is empty.
Whoever posted about cola gammon - thanks. Off to Mr M to a ham hock to have with roasted sweet potatoes, sweet corn and onion rings which will declutter both the fridge and freezer at the same time.

I agree with Pigpen Bossy moo. I did private with first and school one with second and the second seems to be better settled.
Kitchen is clear and tidy but living room looks a mess as I'm going to finish the ironing when I've picked up the brats.Cross Stitch Challenge Member ?Number 2013 challenge = to complete rest of millenium sampler.0
