Ok, i've moved on from basic 10% mandelic to a combination of 10% mandelic and salicylic. The blemishes and acne-scares are slowly fading but i want to get rid of stubborn blackheads too, hopefully the salicylic will do the trick.

Used it for the 1st time on Saturday and experienced slight stinging but no break-outs. But my face is a little itchy all over  but otherwise ok.

I'm thinking about using the 15% mandelic sailcylic acid peel collagen kit. Been using the 15% mandelic collagen kit but I've finshed that course of treatments. So will be looking to start a new regime in a couple of weeks.

Could you keep me updated please pam :)

Tonight will be my 6th peel, not really had the results I would have liked. Still been having breakouts and blackheads. Do you think the retinol cream would be a better option for me?

My pores are the bane of my life :o it's just the way my skin is I suppose.

I can get them clear and then they come back. I use retin a. Love it.

Are you using salicylic? I'm doing one tonight. Will leave 20 PC on for 3 mins if I can. Rinse with warm water then ocm for 5 mins clean off then face mask. Then before bed aloe Vera with jojoba to moisturise.

I don't think six weeks is long in a skin care routine. It's about six weeks for cell turnover so it does take time. Cumulative effect.

Can you use the retinol with the peels & the vit c serum? Also, what benefits are there?

I do. Retin is scientifically proven to benefit skin. I've been using for ages. I've noticed lots of brands are adding it into their creams now but they don't state how much. Hmmmm. Probably no where near enough.

I use it now along with vit c on alternate days I just don't use it on the day I peel. As you all know I am a good six months on I still get the odd chin spot (hormonal) but my skin looks great. Yes I have to get up earlier to make sure I have enough time to get everything on (I start at 7.30am so when I say early I mean eeeearly lol) but the discolouration that started all this is almost gone now and the extra care I am taking of myself shows (important for interviews).

I do spend time on my hair and skin but no where near the amount of time I spend cooking cleaning washing etc :D. I'm worth it.

Will confess I sometimes put vit c serum on in my night routine to save time in the morning;)

Sally Hughes in the Guardian has a column each Saturday, this week it's a review of facial sunscreens. Worth a look.

I started a thread on here a while ago and received some good suggestions https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4932319

I went for the body shop vit c one and it is quite gel like in texture so fine for summer but wouldn't suit my skin in winter.
