High SPF moisturiser

Hi, I am looking for some of your experiences in my hunt for a moisturiser with a high SPF. I find that if I use sun creams designed for the face my skin gets very congested and I break out in spots. I have also tried products that sit over normal moisturiser e.g. Elemis have one, and I didn't like them either.
I am in my late 30's have a very fair complexion and love the sun but don't want wrinkles. I do quite a lot of skin peels so have good skin and want to keep it. I like the clarins eye cream with SPF but don't really get on with their moisturisers.
Any suggestions for a minimum 25spf moisturiser?

I don't know if this will be of interest to you, but you can layer spf products. So for example you can use a spf 10 moisturiser plus spf 10 foundation plus spf 5 powder, which equals spf 25 cover on your face. Or spf 15 moisturiser plus spf 10 foundation, or other combinations.
Maybe you can use layers of lighter products.0 -
Sunsense Daily face (on amazon) although it is one specifically for the face. SPF 50 and you can get it in a tinted matt formula.0

Thanks for all the feedback. I looked at sunsense a while ago and was put off by the feedback that it rolls/rubs off.
I don't wear foundation or powder so would just stick to a moisturiser. I will look into the avene and bodyshop ones.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
How about Clinique City Block? They do it in spf 25 and spf 40.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Sorry but you are wrong. Laying SPF products does not mean they add up to a stronger SPF. This question has been asked on many beauty boards and links put up from the manufacturers stating this is totally wrong. You layer two SPF 10s and 5 you still only get SPF 10.

You're right. That'll teach me to quote something I read on the internet without checking properly! Apparently you can layer and get additive protection if you use products with different mechanisms of action, but then you have to know exactly what mechanism your product use, and apply them in the right order.
I just spent an illuminating hour online to see what I could find out from scientific sources. I couldn't find anything specifically related to layering of products. However, a couple of things stood out:
Most people don't use anywhere near enough sunscreen product. You're supposed to apply quite a thick layer or the effective SPF is much lower.
Apparently most cosmetics that include SPF are not photostable enough to last all day on just one application and since we don't reapply these types of product, they're actually not as good as we like to think
Still better than not wearing anything of course.0 -
Thanks for all the suggestions, I have ordered the body shop one and will see how I get on with that. I'll try the avene one after that.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

There are quite a few available, but beware if you're going to sit in the sun all day that a moisturiser with SPF won't offer you as much protection as a sun screen. The report button is for abusive posts, not because you don't like someone, or their opinions0
