Hi all

Pretty new to this forum, I often read it for help and tips but this is my first time posting. Just wanted to thank you all for the great info received for help with a UKPC parking charge.

We we’re furniture shopping at Metro Retail Park last Sunday. We ended up spending a decent amount in Barker & Stonehouse, however it took us 4.5 hours to make our minds up and we received a £100 parking charge from those kind people at UKPC, £60 for swift payment.

I immediately phoned the Barker & Stonehouse shop only to be told there’s nothing they can do as the car park is owned by someone else and managed by a third party. That’s when I began googling and reading several threads on here. This thread was the most similar to our scenario and also the most informative.

The best guidance was the fact that every retailer on the park has the ability to add customers to their exempt list for each day, speak to the managing agent and not to deal directly with UKPC.

I emailed B&S head office and also emailed Savills, who are employed by the land owners to manage the site. Between the 2 of them we’ve had our parking charge cancelled within 24hrs. Simple as that!

Just wanted to come on and say a big thank you to all the experts out there, your information is vital and spot on accurate, my case is proof that it can be done if you know how! Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hi fellow PCN victims, 

First of all I would like to thank @Coupon-mad  @Umkomaas and @Trainerman as well as all who contributed for their excellent advice regarding a recent PCN charge that I received at the Border Retail Park in Wrexham, North Wales after myself and my disabled wife visited BK, B&M Bargains and Wickes (90 minute parking - no disabled concessions) overstayed by 14 minutes or so, won the case and got the parking extended by 30 minutes for all

Successful appeal direct to Newcastle Airport to have PCN overturned in their express carpark. 

They have various email addresses but I found 'PFOperationsOfficers@newcastleairport-parking.co.uk'

I recently received a PCN from Horizon for exceeding the maximum stay in a Tesco. The time between entry and exit was less than one hour and the visit was to use a (paid for) EV charger.

Following the advice on this forum, the first thing I did was contact Tesco. I emailed their head office explaining the circumstances and to request they instruct Horizon to cancel it. In their initial reply they directed me to Horizon, but when I responded asking them to reconsider, quite surprisingly, they did. They have now informed me they have asked Horizon to cancel the charge, and given me a case number to get back to them with if I have any problems. From when I first emailed them to being told they would get it cancelled took around 24 hours.

Tesco seem to have a bit of a bad rep and I wasn't holding out much hope of success. However, to be fair to them, they dealt with my case quickly, politely, and - after the initial brush off - helpfully.

Very good to know.

It really pees us off when retailers try to deny that they can order cancellations. If course they can!

Why would a Supermarket not support the consumer/valued customer, especially in a case like yours, of using the EV charging point (a separated bay area most likely leased exclusively to the charging company, and not actually within Horizon's remit of shopper parking spaces).
