b06hengu said:SUCCESSFUL CANCELLATION OF PCN FROM PARKINGEYE AT NHS CLINIC, ALMOST A YEAR LATER!
Got a PE PCN in June 2022, almost 2 months after my appointment. Implemented Plan A - contacted the clinic but they kept fobbing me off. Fluffed up the appeals process by posting a letter to POPLA without getting a code from PE first, so it was as if I ignored the PCN altogether Was mid-moving house at the time so left it at that. DCBL start their letter bombing, I ignore as I know it’s safe to do so.
Fast forward to now (January 2023) where I receive the ‘notice of intended legal action’ from DCBL(imited), I know it’s safe to ignore but am a bit rattled. Post on the forum, encouraged to go BACK to Plan A and really turn the screw this time - initially get pushed back by the property manager at the clinic saying it’s been 8 months and now it’s ‘too late’, so I escalate it further - and success! 2 days later I’m CC’d into the emails between an NHS property manager (not the chocolate teapot at the clinic) and a PE account manager cancelling the PCN!

So, the sharks seem to be everywhere and growing in numbers!
As i visited a local employment agency recently, spent a couple of hours and went back home!
A week or two later, had a PCN from Parkmaven through the post! (£100 reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days)
Thanks to you guys, i took the letter to the agency on the same day, they took it to the business park reception and had it cancelled on the spot, no quibbles.
People out there, that do know about this forum, will never be able to thank you guys enough!
Thanks guys!!!

APCOA, Tesco, Weston-super-Mud.
To be fair, this site is in the middle of the town, a short walk from the beach and the Grand Pier. It does need car park management to prevent non-shoppers abusing it, but ...
Friends of mine got a NTK for not validating their parking after making a few purchases. The infestation changed hands a while ago, I can't remember who it was before, but now APCOA are in place.
One of my friends has been very upset and frightened by all of this, but luckily remembered I was involved with fighting this sort of thing, so contacted me before doing anything else. I told them APCOA were benign, easy to beat, and they had nothing to worry about, but never having had a PCN before they were still scared by the wording and threats on the NTK.
I told them to go in store to complain, stressing they must only refer to themselves as the keeper. The lady they spoke to gave a sigh, pointed to a pile of other PCNs she was dealing with, and said even their staff were being targeted for parking in the staff parking area.
She promised to add it to the list to be processed, and a few days ago was contacted by the store to tell her it had been cancelled, but never received anything in writing from CRAPCOA.
They came round to our place today where I gave them a quick history lesson on the PoFA and keeper liability, before showing them this forum.
I then showed them how to log on to the APCOA site as if they were going to pay, whereupon they were most relieved to see that the PCN had indeed been cancelled, whereupon my friend took a phot of the screen.
It appears that the previous operator gave 20 minutes free parking with no requirement to validate anything, nor to make a purchase. Over 20 minutes required a minimum purchase of £5 and for the receipt to be validated at a booth outside the store.
Now apparently it's 30 minutes free, but has to be validated, although I don't know how.
Several people have told the store they are going to shop elsewhere now due to getting PCNs and having to validate the free parking period when they never had to before.
I suspect the change has taken place recently, but the signage telling people about the new requirements to validate even a short stay are inadequate.
Incidentally, my cousin/SiL was banned from the same store when the previous PPC was in place. She had collected a prescription from the pharmacy and therefore might end up going over the previous 20 minute free limit that didn't require validation, but not purchase anything, and therefore could get a PCN, which was unfair.
There was a heated argument and my cousin/SiL was told by the store manager not to come back again. Since that day she only ever uses Waitrose and Morrisons in Weston, neither of which are infested.

Back in January 2022, my friend had parked in a bay and bought a council parking ticket for £1 behind Poundland in Southampton, Above Bar, did a shop in there and Boots and came back. Months later, having moved home, she got tracked down by a DVLA search and presented with a bill for £170 by Gladstones, representing Premier Park. Apparently she had mistakenly parked in the Poundland service area. I've been there and it is an easy mistake to make as the place is a mess and the public car park is right next to the Poundland one.
She asked me for some help and I requested a SARS, and advised we were looking for debt advice and started to prepare for the MCO etc. I also advised her to contact Poundland Customer Relations and explain what had happened and how shocked she felt about the charge and how it is affecting her. I also got her to point out they had added multiple administration fees, which they shouldn't have done.
The next (today) day a lovely representative of Poundland rang and informed her they had arranged for the silly charge to be waived. My friend is extremely relieved and grateful
Thanks for all the advice here!

Perfect! Well done @Simulacraton and friend!
To you, your friend and ALL lurkers reading this:
Please don't miss the upcoming Public Consultation to change the private parking law and cap the 'greedy money' down at a lower level than £100.
You must take part, you know how horrific this is and how draining and stressful this 'bulk litigation threat' crap is - and why should consumers have to suffer this relentless bullying claptrap?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could get some advice in dealing with a PCN. Unfortunately, this is not first one I have received, but thanks to this amazing forum, I won the previous one.
Summary :
Letter with the PCN received from "Civil Enforcement LTD" on the 06/03/2023.
Incident date: 18/12/2022
Issue Date: 27/02/2023
Location of Parked vehicle: Car park at Pately Bridge, The Lodge, Bewerley Park, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate, England, HG3 5BD
Terms and Conditions of Parking: Payment not made / permit not obteined in accordance with notified terms.
From 18/12/22 10:45:47 to 18/12/2022 11:07:32My car was parked in the car park mentioned above, while trying to get a parking permit. There was no payment/ticket machine installed in the car park, it is only possible to pay by phone or via the app "Phone and Pay".
The app was downloaded and then after battling through several app crashes and error messages, since the app did not allow to add any bank card details, and after several attempts, it was decided to leave the car park and park the car elsewhere. It was parked at the Southlands car park, Pateley Bridge HG3 5JX (on the other side of the river) where a parking permit was purchased via the “pay and display machine” with apple pay (transacation details from the bank can be provided).
I have read the "Newbies" post, and if I am not wrong, the first action is to appeal to the owner of the land. I have also seen a google review where another person had a similar problem to mine in the same car park, and is when I saw that the owner of the land is "Nidderdale Agricultural Society".
Since English is not my first language, I wonder if would it be possible to get some help to write down the email/letter I would like to send to the owner of the land to see if they want to cancel the ticket, before appealing to Civil Enforcement.
Kind regards,0 -
You don't 'appeal' to the landowner, you complain but WITHOUT SAYING WHO WAS DRIVING.
Why did this PCN take so long to get to you? Two months is a long time to get a PCN. Is your car leased, hired or a company car?
What do you mean "Letter with the PCN" ...are you saying there were two pieces of paper?
Don't answer here on this thread.
Please start your own new discussion and answer my questions there, so we can help you.

A big thank you to this forum once again for another successful cancellation of a PCN!
The last one was much tougher but this one was surprisingly swift and it's all thanks to the guidance on these pages.
I received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus on behalf of Gemini Parking Solutions about two weeks ago which I ignored and then I received another letter about a week ago and thought I'd better refresh my memory and come on here to see how best to handle it. As has been suggested many times before, I contacted the landowner (well, it's a leisure centre so I sent an email FTO the manager. I sent the email on Sunday using the template I believe provided by @Coupon-mad on another website (sorry, I didn't save the link) and I've received an email from the manager today telling me they've told Gemini to cancel the ticket and in bold letters to not pay! He went on to say he was trying to discourage Gemini from using debt recovery companies as well.
Once again, thank you for all of your brilliant work and excellent advice.
For anyone who's in doubt, I've followed the advice on these pages now and I've not had to pay a penny to these crooks. Don't be dismayed if you've received a debt collectors letter, you can still have the PCT cancelled yet!
All the best.8 -
He went on to say he was trying to discourage Gemini from using debt recovery companies as well. Now that is good! We think the same as him.
If PPCs could scrape the DRAs off their shoes and do their own 28p address 'traces' (easy to do in bulk) and deal honestly and equitably with consumers with lower PCNs and non-aggressive reminders with no added £70 extortion, they would be paid FAR more often.
They would also attract more landowner clients.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
