Successful complaints about private parking tickets - how to get them cancelled!

Success Story (don't know of this comment needs linking or moving somewhere else).

I got a ticket parked in Borehamwood Shopping Park. It has a 3 hour limit. I was 13 minutes over. I released hell on all the shops. Some were open to helping and, psychologically, I now like these shops. Others were no-can-do types.

I received an email this morning from one of the helpful ones:-

Good morning XXXXX,

 

I am pleased to confirm that the Landlord’s Agents have agreed to cancel the ticket.   

 

I will let you know if anything further is required but if you have any additional queries, or concerns, please let me know.

 

I trust you find this acceptable.

The shops worth sending to, as in 'are helpful' are:-

1. Hobbycraft

2. Sports Direct
3. Prezzo.

Hope this helps others.

Successful Complaint to Landowner about PCN

After complaining to landowner about this unfair PCN , it was cancelled. The forum has been a valuable resource and special thank you to everyone that offered advice.

Success report: (please move if necessary as it's not strictly a complaint to the landowner). 

After following the Newbies advice I appealed to UKPC for a ticket issued at Stevenage Leisure Park (with proof of money spent on site). In my appeal I speculated that the Managing Agent (Jones Lang Lasalle) would not be happy about patrons being pursued and mentioned that I planned to email the relevant manager (whose name I took from a search of this Forum). 

Having geared myself up for the next stage with POPLA, when UKPC responded 28 days after my online appeal they advised that the charge was not eligible for appeal because it 'has already been cancelled in full'.    

Many thanks to those who share their advice on this Forum to assist ingenues like me

Stevenage Leisure Park has always been a nightmare. I used to live near there and routinely avoided it as it was a big clamping spot years ago! They'd literally stalk cars in there and even sling clamps on idling vehicles with passengers in them!

In more recent times there is a parking attendant who is instructed to hide by sitting in his car then waits for people to walk up the steps to the railway footbridge (many are probably merely going upstairs to use the cash machine at the station) and then he tickets their cars!  At no time does this chap call out to the motorists he is covertly watching to advise them on the "no leaving site" rule.  If your from round there spread the word on local message boards! I got this info firsthand from someone who works nearby.

One email to CEO of Sainsbury gets same day response (Charge Cancelled). Twenty minute over stay.  Sent copies of two weeks receipts and told him not going again till cancelled.

This was a friend of mine who had sent an appeal to Euro a couple of days ago.  Told him to email CEO, worked a treat.

Will see if Euro come back but I doubt it.

Great job!  They don't need to be risking losing customers by throwing them under a bus, when the only outcome for Sainsburys is a loss of customer, a loss of income and a loss of profit, just to enable a third party, scavenging on their land, to fill their own coffers. 

There's been more than too much time gone by for retailers to even think for a moment that PPCs are assisting them in any way at all. 

Time to wake up and smell the coffee, because I believe there's much worse to come, Covid-wise, for the retail sector in the New Year!
