Too right. Down and down. Appalling recent set of results, Aldi/Lidl taking large bites out of their overpriced underquality trade, and Waitrose taking chunks out of their once profitable top-end.
Hard to see any real point to Tesco these days. Except perhaps to use the toilets.

Indeed! Tesco's a handy overflow for the Aldi car park in these parts.... and free parking when nearby PPCs are causing chaos (ref: Peel Stockport)
They've built a nice new Tesco, but the trade's already gone to Aldi and it won't go back. Good of them to build the overflow for Aldi, though, and to provide the toilets.0 -
I've just read through the majority of this thread, trying to avoid the remarks going off on a tangent....
So going back to the main theme of expired clubcard vouchers, having just discovered some, I realise now it is unlikely I'll be able to retrieve them as they were not accepted online (almost 2 months out of date) but what I would like to ask is about these so called 'email reminders' that a few people have mentioned.
I have never, ever received one of these emails, even though on a few occasions I have been pretty close to the mark when cashing them in for rewards.
Has anyone any new information on this subject as it has been a few months since anyone posted? Does anyone think that not having received a reminder is any sort of help in reclaiming the points?0 -

No, some people are having reminder emails about vouchers due to run out of date at the end of May - but be warned there is a phishing email as well !!
But not having such an email, doesn't change Tesco being able to see the details of any expired vouchers. And incidentally the ones for Feb '12 (i.e. expied Feb '14) have just disappeared.
So, please check the dates, before Mays' expire.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Not sure if this is the right place for this, we exchanged £15 for £60 prezzo vouchers. We used £40 worth and they crossed the codes off the email. We then got an email from tesco telling us that all 3 vouchers has now been used? Not sure whether this is worth following up?0

Can't find any other Tesco thread so hopefully someone on here can help. Have over £100 running out in May but don't want anything on site so am hoping there will be a double up instore. Anyone know if this will happen before coupons expire?0

No, there is not a 'double-up' promotion apart from the Hudl .I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Hi Manda
I would chase that up. I recently exchanged £50 for Bella Italia but only used £40. Our waiter made a point of only crossing off £40 worth and since then I have had a reminder e mail from Tesco for the remaining £10. Not sure how you could prove to Tesco that you did not spend the whole amount. Do you still have your restaurant receipt?0 -
The original post on this thread was only last year, but I believe Tesco changed the replacing of expired vouchers policy much further back.
I remember because I had put some near to expiring vouchers in a kitchen drawer and some fell down the back where I couldn't reach them. Customer service said that it would be fine to retrieve the vouchers, at a later date, then send them in for replacement. However, a couple of weeks later, I had the vouchers out, but rang to confirm that I was going to return them and was told that very recently policy had changed so I lost my £30+.
Unless they have further changed policy in the last couple of months, you can ring up to have soon to expire (not expired) vouchers cancelled and reissued, but you have to wait until the next mailing to receive the replacements.0
