Just to add to the debate, ebay T&Cs do actually say you must only sell stock you have in hand :silenced:They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

I don't really get this argument - wouldn't this hypothetical second buyer would have had the same opportunity as the OPs buyer to purchase from the OP?
That said, it's not clear if the OP sold it in an auction or a BIN.0 -

Me neither. No-one forces a buyer to buy at the second price.
In my own area, there would be nothing stopping a buyer from buying pieces individually to make a set themselves. But they never do. Buyers want it packaged together in a set before they will buy. Hence the market between sellers having odd items. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

I assumed it was a BIN. If there was plenty of opportunity for the other person it's different. It's also different buying something to create a set as you're not likely going to have to keep buying one item to make up sets and if the buyer wants a set they wouldn't have been doing for the single item in the first place.
If the buyer/seller is clicking buy on all BIN as soon as they're listed then relisting higher so no one can buy it cheaper, then expecting the other sellers to do their job that's a different matter.0 -
There is no reason why the OP should be getting a lower price than the buyer/ reseller. It might be an idea to have a good look at the buyer's listing to see if they can find some ideas to improve their own.0

They are.Why cause trouble for the buyer/dropshipper though? its not as if they're doing anything wrong as long as he pays within Ebay rules (waits for the "but he's a business" brigade).
Maybe the OP listed the item badly (wrong cat/finishing time) and this why there is some money to be made.
The have agreed to purchase goods from a seller and have not yet paid the seller for the goods, but have listed the goods they have not paid for or have on the own account.
They could be someone would buy it from them, then pay them and they pay for original seller. but if i was the seller i would report as NPB if anything this will force them to pay or if they dont they will get a strike and you will get your fees back and be able to relist. I would also block this buyer. then this buyer will end up listing an item they dont have and cant get from you, so if anyone buys from them, they wont be able to supply it.0 -

The OP can't open a case till 1pm Wed, even then the buyer can delay payment a bit longer, not everyone pays as soon as the auction ends.0 -
I wonder if the OP will ever return. Maybe this was a wind-up all along.0
