Been a bit tearful these last few days, Toot's passing made me think of my own loss and I realised OH would have been 40 next week. The adverts for Macmillan coffee morning make me tearful. I'm sorry I feel selfish when so many are feeling raw with the loss of Toots.

So I need to do something positive ...

Maybe we could do a virtual coffee/tea event in aid of Macmillan or a charity that was close to Toot's heart. What we would have paid for a cuppa and a cake at starbocks or cost a lot. Or what we would have spent on ingredients to bake a cake we donate to that charity. Most charities have the ability to donate online.

It could be an all day thing for those who work full time, have commitments during the day etc

    It's just a thought.

That's just such a fabulous idea! I must admit the Macmillan ads are affecting me a little too. Don't feel strong enough yet to organise one but would definitely contribute to an online one.

The rather large bank that I work for also operates a matched funding scheme, so I wonder if I were to set up a "just giving" or similar page, they would double any donations?

I'm sorry its bringing back memories, Deco, there seems to be always something to remind us. Mine is the "strictly" series. At the beginning of the series he was sent home from hospital with a "no, don't worry, nothing sinister" and by the end he was gone. Yet I can't help but watch it, I do love the dancing. As it happens, I'm watching the launch show now on catch up tv :o

Try to be kind to yourself on his birthday (hugs)

I have a rather extensive toots list. Well, collections of lists really. I have one for each room :o

Think I'll go check the dailies though, I'm rather behind this week. Hopefully next week will be the start of a new routine for us...

    I think that's a lovely idea deco.

As I am going to the funeral, I'm more than happy to take collection money or flowers etc with me so it goes straight to Toots family, if fly ladies would be happy with that.

Thanks for keep us posted AnWs mum. X

Get strong soon vibes to baby Poppy pigpen

Just giving charge a fee so a percentage of what is raised they take. Virgin have a similar thing but all the money goes to the charity.

Let me know if you want the money raised to go to Macmillan or towards flowers and I'll create a page later after the paid stuff.

Which I must go to know otherwise I'll be late!
