Thanks, my suggestion was bin them and get curtains haha :rotfl:

:rotfl: Yes, that too! I wouldn't have them again, I had a small ones in the hall and landing in my old house and they were a PITA. The ones I clean now are in customers' homes which makes it a million times worse, if they ask for them to be done my heart just sinks :(

  • Another nosey question: where are your hotspots?

Here, it seems to be the bit of work surface behind the kitchen door, the top of DH's chest of drawers in our room and of course, the coffee table of DOOM.

(I have excluded the kids' rooms in this, every available horizontal space is covered in carp, floor included )

I had been thinking I liked the look of the wooden ones and might price them up for the new house, but after this conversation I may pass! hahaha
  • Ok so I've failed my challenge as I haven't even touched my book this week. No housework done today as was out all morning and only home for an hour to put tesco delivery away then out again for hubby to fetch a big fish tank. So all I've done today is feed everyone and clean up the kitchen

Fizz, the shelf under the coffee table (just sold on gumtree) and the top drawer of the living room chest (being re distributed as the BF's clothes drawers) and anything relating to the BF. Tidy he is not!

And speaking of, am grumpy now because of his work. He works for a local company who do $ky type installs, due to this he's often all over the area and at times works silly hours which is really proving a pain at the minute. I was all full of plans to clear out and organise the basement as it's currently being added to with boxes of packed items so I'm not falling over them. Sadly I got a text about ten-fifteen minutes ago to inform me he was just leaving his last job and would be home in just over an hour!!! So that'll see him home eleven and a half hours after he left (if we assume he's home at 7).
I feel a bit mean saying here's a big list of things to do and stuff to move after that, but how on earth can we manage to get moved if I don't :(

Sorry for whingeing, just needed to offload that grump. Think I'll get changed once I've caught up on here and go see what I can do myself. Developed a sport injury (love calling it that haha), tendonitis, in my left wrist so it limits the weight I can carry without hurting.

Hot spot is the unusable work top behind the oven stack.
Cookbooks, radio, school letters, post. Newspapers magazines get dumped there along with anything else that has no home.

DS1 is using the top of the fridge freezer (huge American style monstrosity) as a bin. He's the only one tall enough to reach the top. I have to stand on a stool to clear it.

The messages from people that have come to know toots are lovely to read, I also never "met" her but she sounds like such a character!

Pigpen I hope baby poppy gets a brilliant surgeon, poor pudding is faced with a life full of operations and hospital visits, am really pleased you made the school run, my hips are fine I still hate doing it lol!

lynsayjane you have both of my sisters names, does your OH get a day off? if he does the night before it get him stuck into that basement then you can use the excuse of, "at least we can spent your day of relaxing if we get it sorted tonight"

FizzWhizz the hot spots in this house are anything my OH regularly uses, pc desk, space in between his side of the bed and the wall, the shed, cupboard under the stairs.

today I have wm x3, cleaned the oven, made mince and dumplings for tea, hovered and mopped the kitchen, took the dog on extra long walks.

Bit of a rant coming up feel free to skip

it was ds1 birthday yesterday he was 2 so with his birthday money we took him to a well known toy shop, on the way I seen my uncle walking in to opposite direction to everywhere he normally goes so we pulled over to offer a lift.

turns out he`s going to the hospital for a biopsy on his throat on his own and hes walking!!!! So I rang my dad told him what was happening, my OH drops me and ds1&2 off at my sisters, picks up my dad and takes them both to the hospital.

My dad wanted to drive but he was all stressed so my OH half took them and waited with them, the biopsy is for suspected cancer of the voice box and he wasn't going to tell any of us. My uncle is turning 70 this year and we all visit him regularly, take him shopping, to appointments have him round for tea so I am a bit sad to as I know he will refuse treatment but I can understand why as well.
sorry I needed to get that off my chest
