  • Hi all

Can I come back to the nest please? Been thinking about the thread a lot since the very sad news of wonderful Toots :( I haven't even lurked for ages, and as for completing lists... well, its been several years since completing any housework lists. My poor home is looking tired, scruffy and unloved :o I have deactivated my fb account for a while (lots of carp with some RL 'friends') so I'm going to use the time I used to waste on there to get my house back in some sort of order. I still work from home with my little business (a lonely existence :o), so I need to re-learn how to juggle housework time with work time xx
    I need direction to perfection...
  • picked up all the rubbish off the LR floor .... do ppl think bins don't exist... it was all from last night and this morning !
LO is hoovering up his cereal he spilt ...... hes 4 (5 in jan) am i a mean parent ! :undecided .. he likes hoovering so its not all bad hes told me hes going to hoover the rest of the LR too ;)

Optimum, DS is the same age, January too. I have one of those rechargeable sweepers (vac is a bit heavy) and he loves it too - often sweeps the downstairs for me.

A wash done, kitchen S&S, DW emptied, and coat cupboard sorted. About to take all the "surplus" back upstairs to their original homes. Might boss DS to tidy under his bed, broken train track - can all go back in the bucket until he can learn to be nice to his sister.

School office called about time off for an appointment, I was given the wrong form, its not absence it's been marked as a medical appointment so won't go on his record. And she's going to call back in 2 weeks when we are settled into school so the family support worker can come and see if we need any additional support. Hurrah!

O-M If he likes doing it then cherish it and reward him with a cuddle/ story/ treat.

Going to get DS1 to clear up the mess he has made making porridge. It is setting like cement in the sink.

Need to get moving. So much to do.

    Good day wishes to everyone.

My laptop is installing 24 updates...I'm on DDs as I got sick of mine running so slow. Paid stuff is done except for hitting "Submit" before 10pm. I'm waiting for the "mum I need more....have you put your order in?" from DD when she gets in ;):rotfl: As long as I hit submit before 10pm it's fine to sit there.

Dehumidifier for DDs room is reserved for me to pick up when I go into town. So thats something off my Toots list :D

I've decided to scrap going to the butchers today after discovering more meat in the freezer! I'll just go next week with DD.

Off to find a top to wear, very fast bath then out to town now my bag is ready :D Will need to do HHI later so I have some smarter jeans to wear tonight. Might have a look in the shops for a smarter coat/cardigan which actually fits! Hmmm...way to many things on my 'I could do with' list :(

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

    Hello my lovelies.
I've just heard the sad news about our wonderful Toots passing. I've done what so many others have done, and have come to the thread to post my tribute to that amazing lady. I miss her, but I feel better for having known her. A true angel. She touched so many of us, whether in RL or virtually.
RIP Toots. You'll be sadly, sadly missed. xxxxxxxx

    ETA:
Flyladies, you've touched my life in ways you can't imagine. You showed me support and restored my faith in people. The wonderful things we did when I was posting, they way we looked after each other, there's nothing quite like it. I'm sure nothing's changed really. I am proud, so proud to be a flylady, and always will be.
Damn you woman, you have made me cry.QUOTE

Once a Flylady ,always a Flylady. I still point disorganised people in the direction of the thread, even if I am not here myself. It is only fair they feel the disappointment of never finishing a list like me;)[/QUOTE

So sorry to hear about Toots. It's when we hear of one of our flyladys passing that we stop and think how much we get from the threads. I only use the oldstyle threads now as I can find something on these threads for any situation. I don't post often but no matter what I need, a smile, a laugh or just to be nosey I can't imagine not being able to pop on here daily.
My thoughts are with Toots family and friends. XXX

My thoughts and prayers are with Poppy and her parents - I went through something similar many years ago with my youngest.

DH is not feeling well today so has retreated to his garage with the convector heater on. I will have to do a tip run later, as the carpenter is taking up the old flooring.

At least so far I have managed to declutter 3 important phonecalls, the Minutes of a Trustees' Meeting and an email to DS2. And I remembered to phone my godson in Germany yesterday to wish him Happy Birthday :)

Onwards and upwards... The bathroom needs painting!
  • Hi everyone. Positive vibes for all, especially baby Poppy.

I've just got back from the midwife from my 36 week appointment. The baby is still the right way up and his head is starting to engage. Makes it seem quite real now - I'm glad all his clothes are washed now, although I do still need to put them all away.

I'm also still overwhelmed by how many clothes I have. I bought a couple of packets of babygros at Asda and most of my friends and family had the same idea, as well as my sister giving my all of my nephew's baby clothes. I'm thinking of donating some that I know I'm not going to use to a domestic violence shelter or refugee group - somewhere that they can help people who will need them, rather than a charity shop where they will be worth very little. That's something to add to my list

Anyway, I'm absolutely pooped this morning. I had a good nights sleep last night, but yesterday was quite a busy day. I think I'm going to have a bit of a nap and see if I can get any flying done later this afternoon... I'm meeting an old school friend at 4.30 and then going out this evening, so not sure exactly what I'll get done today, but I'm sure I'll do some more washing if not anything more!

    Hugs to all! xx
