Narco: Bossy, in her role as Flylady Challenge Monitor, has a list of Flyladies' personal challenges in Post 2. It just so happens mine is to finish a novel I started nearly two years ago, because I'm stuck and this is at least making me have a crack at it. (This is my third that I've started and I just can't bear the thought of abandoning another one.) Good to know there is someone else around who is thinking about doing writerly things, even if we're not actually writing. :o

thanks, I'll check it out. I went to a writing group/class many years ago and really enjoyed it, even got a few articles published. I always keep a diary when we go on holiday; we're reasonably adventurous so it is nice to revisit from time to time. I think having been teaching literacy-based work for the last few years partly satisified the writing urge, but now I'm reorganising my life as a freelancer, I'm hoping I will return to writing in my new spare time (haha). I like the 500 word "returned from your holiday" bit in the Telegraph on a Saturday, and one particular situation this last holiday really got me thinking of that. Oops now I've said it in public, I'll have to write it now............maybe.

  • Evening all

Only been in from work half an hour  ever wish you'd never volunteered to help someone out...

Lovely to read more touching tributes to Toots... and to flyladies in general. Warms the cockles of your heart, it does!

Piggers you will have to come back and [STRIKE]haunt[/STRIKE] watch over the thread to see what we say :p

Apart from a quick tidy of the kitchen & LR that's going to be about it for me tonight; I've got an early start (and probably a late finish) tomorrow but boy will I be happy as the project will be FINISHED :T

Love, hugs, sticks & spoons to all xx

  • Glad to see the study is on tomorrow's list; that's my work for the week. Did the desk clearing/cleaning bit on Monday, and reorganised all test materials into new drawer set today. Wasn't new drawers - it is stacked wire baskets which for some reason I have kept stationery in for years - glue sticks, sellotape, electronic cables and chargers ets; all of which fell through the baskets regularly and drove me mad. Have now commandeered a plastic shoe box for all chargers, plugs and cables for phone/tablet/kindle etc. The general stationery has gone temporarily into a cardboard box, but the wire baskets are great for my assessment stuff. Also reorganised printer paper into racks by colour, type etc. That's another corner of the office looking much better.

Apart from that, am still managing to put at least 1 thing away from each room I go into (why does the contents of each room migrate?).
Other miscellaneous stuff done too tedious to list. Have contacted quite a few friends this week.
Also wrote a proposal for some work and sent it off.
Made a fairly abysmal plum cake based on an old Dorset Apple Cake recipe, but it either didn't like my plums or my wheat-free flour, so it was a bit sticky and flat, though tasted ok with custard.

Can we have some of our magnificent flylady vibes for my daughters friends baby girl??? She has a serious heart condition.. basically her heart valves don't work so she is very very poorly.. she was 10lb at birth and just under 8lb now and is 3 months old. She is having emergency surgery tomorrow or Friday.. waiting on the specialist surgeon and needs some survival vibes.. she has a 75% chance of survival :( Her mummy is a wee babe at 17 and all alone in this country (her parents are in Germany) and the baby's papa has met her for the first time today!!!

Off to my nest as soon as baby is fed again.. I need to find her pjs too and get out Squeaks uniform.

Almost knitted the second sleeve of Spams sweater :D

  • Veered off list somewhat but its been productive all the same. Picked up some more boxes after work (fyi if you ever move t0ys r us have been great at providing all different sizes of boxes and good customer service too) so now have five boxes of kitchen wares packed leaving only day to day use items.
Dishes done, lunch made and danced the Hoover around the kitchen, living room and hall.
Also set up an online FB party/sale night for AS so hopefully can clear some bits and earn a few pennies with that.
Started my information folder for the tenant with a copy of the EPC and gas safety cert, taking some of the manuals for appliances to work to copy.
Also wrote a sympathy card to a family I'm close with who sadly lost grandpa this week.

Time for some well deserved zzzzzzzz

Ps Kerri, a friend of mine also changed her name after having kids as her OH diesnt seem to be in a rush to make an honest woman of her either haha

    Hey,

I'm soooooo sorry I didn't post the list earlier... I wrote it all down, opened up the laptop, did a disk cleanup and a defrag (proper flying!) and decided to do some bits while I waited!!

Got totally distracted, but did however finish the kitchen just about and make a huge dent in the ironing pile!!

I also decluttered a magnitude of crapola from the LR bookcase, dusted said bookcase & hoovered behind it :) I decided during this time the Hoover needed emptying and filter needed a good bashing outside.... Cue looks from amused neighbours!

I then did my Uni work needed for tomorrow's classes... So after all that waffle, I haven't posted the stars (Can all you newbies tell why this was never my job before :p) I'm in Uni all day tomorrow so will be around after tea time.

That means you've got ALL DAY to do something, and/or anything!! I'm loving that your all getting on with your Toots lists too :) those jobs qualify for stars too (well I think they should :) )

I've loved reading all the tributes to our wonderful Toots.

I've baked 2 cakes and let the kids eat one before it cooled down... yes they all got tummy ache. I did warn them.

I hope hubby's scan goes ok CY.

Safe, successful op vibes for Pigger's young friends baby.

Lots to do tomorow. Things to take back to shops. Things to order online. Friend to support who is going to an employment tribunal. Arrange DH's appt with ear consultant for scan results. Meet SIL to discuss ongoing care of poorly MIL. Meet other SIL to get outgrown football boots/cricket stuff for DS3. Mountain of ironing to do.
Personal things to do is Dye my hair and go to the eyebrow threader, going to a wedding on Sunday and I don't want to look like a badger with dark roots!
