I applied online for my N&P Gold Current Account so didn't get questioned by any customer service staff.

What are you trying to prove here ? Your experience does not necessary match with other people experience. Also your circumstances might be different with other people e.g. Some people already having many accounts and the decision maker will see them unfavorable since they are unlikely to bring any profit.

What I have found based on my personal experience it will depend on the person who is processing application and making decision. You might be lucky at the time to get a person who did not bother whether people are using their account for foreign withdrawal or did not care how many account people are already holding.

I remember about 2 years ago when N&P account was very popular as it was launched at the right time where sentiment to Nationwide BS was growing as they stopped their free foreign currency withdrawal. While many got approved there were quite a few people like me reported in this forum got rejected for N&P account although they could easily get credit card with other banks at almost the same period of time.

I took a plunge today. Applied on one of TSB branch today. Got approved two accounts in just about 15 minutes together with online access. Entirely different experience with Clydesdale Bank. in Clydesdale Bank I brought my Identification and proof of address to the branch twice and they loose it twice. How unprofessional and incompetent.

No overdraft facility but that is what I actually want as I will just use it as saving accounts and OD facility will only harm my credit rating. Fortunately. no killer questions were asked.

I will definitely open another one when my RSA is mature and thus have another £3-5K to dump.

Just a suggestion, you may want to open a third now even if you can't fill it with the 5k. Reason I say this is because I imagine that eventually they will reduce the number of accounts you hold with enhance.

so you don't want to miss the boat and only open two, to find you can't get a third one down the line.

For example at one point you could have more than three vantages with lloyds, and halifax rewards have been limited, they generally do not close or restrict existing accounts (I.e I still have three halifax rewards and my parents still have 4 vantages) and you never know tsb may follow the same line later on.

If you don't want to leave a third enhance empty and have 10k across two accounts, why not do it so you have £3333.33 in each you will still then get the 3% across the money and give you room for manoeuvre if you get more savings over time.

Not trying to prove anything just suggesting to the poster that it would be easier to apply online as it would only be a credit check not 20 questions. I also have many accounts.

  • I believe you must have to leave 24 hours between applications as the third account had not appeared by yesterday afternoon. So I applied again yesterday and now three showing in my account and have added Enhance to all.

Don't have the account, but to my knowledge it's the same as Lloyds Vantage and Bos Vantage, which I do have, ie the end of the first banking day of the month. So Monday evening/overnight?

EDIT: It is the same. From the T&Cs...
...we will work out interest on a daily basis at the relevant Enhance interest rate from the second working day of that month and pay it to your account at the end of the first working day of the next month.

are internal transfers ok to meet the monthly criteria or does it have to be from an external source?
