I'm sure no degree is easy to the student, but be fair, if you're studying medicine, physics, engineering, classics, mathematics etc. then it does, erm, suggest that you have more intellectual clout than if you're on one of the raft of more simplistic courses on offer.
Sorry, but it just does.
I heard of someone taking an 'Art Therapy' degree recently - !!!!!!?"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
Whats unusual about art therapy, people do suffer mental illness you know.Norma_Desmond wrote: »I'm sure no degree is easy to the student, but be fair, if you're studying medicine, physics, engineering, classics, mathematics etc. then it does, erm, suggest that you have more intellectual clout than if you're on one of the raft of more simplistic courses on offer.

I certainly do not read the daily mail and I know for a fact that certain degrees are a lot easier to get than others.
If you truly believe that every person out there with a degree is highly intelligent and deserves a highly paid position, then you have no idea what you are talking about.
My sister did a media degree and quite frankly the work she put in to acheive it was minimal.
You do not know for a fact unless you have actually completed or written the guidelines for every degree! You don't have one yourself but continually harp on about how easy they are. Sour grapes more like.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -

My DD is doing Neuroscience and it always gets the reaction of "wow" when people asking what she is doing because it sounds hard!

Crikey - have you ever actually DONE any therapy - it's one of the most hardest things to do, to get people who can't walk or talk to actually engage in something? Spending 6 hours of your day trying to get someone to do things that would take most other people 5 minutes. It's one of the hardest and most frustrating things to do.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Also the 'hardness' of the degree depends on the strengths and weaknesses of a person.
I admire those who take dual-degrees, they often complete 75% of a 'full' degree in each subject but it shows a breadth of understanding and skill.0 -

To be fair, reading the grade requirements, syllabus details and prospectus tells you a lot about every degree.
Not all degrees are equal.0 -

Not all degrees are equal.
But very few are as simple as they are being made out. By people who haven't actually done one.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
