Do you let your cats go on your bed?

Long haired cats should be brushed everyday to help them form less furballs.
My two are medium haired and I recently bought a brilliant brush from Tesco, it has bristles and slightly longer teeth with little balls on the end which massage their skin while the bristles remove the hair.
Mine are house cats and have always slept in my bed. One sleeps at my feet (tries to start each night on top of me but gets rolled off after a while lol) and the other likes to sleep beside me. I'm trying to coax him into sleeping at the bottom too as I think he disrupts my sleep, the method of a hot water bottle and a small quilt worked last night but he did sneak up to sleep against my back at one stage.
We had to buy a king sized bed to accommodate them

Math.
What do you use to groom them?
Anybody else have long-haired? If so what would you recommend for grooming?
I use a slicker type brush (not a tiny one like they sell for cats, but small dog sized), a comb - double sided - big teeth & skinny teeth, a detangling spray, a coat powder & he gets a shampoo, trim & blow dry now & again, sometimes by me, sometimes at the "salon":D
I did read about furminator brushes recently, I need to get one of those.
I have some sort of ripper/shreder/de-matting type thing, that I don't think much of.
I think little & often is the key:D0 -
my cat poppy has her own bedroom with a big pillow bed and fleece blanket and every night dead on 10pm she will trott upstairs and go to bed.0

both my chaps sleep on the bed - old boy sleeps in a ball at my feet - always has done and youngster sleeps flat on his back between Mr P and I.
They will have a bit of variety - in the shower tray, bathmats, kids beds, sinks, bath, wardrobes, drawers, laundry basket and a stool behind the front door, but in general it is the bed.
They have the full run of the house - the only place they are not allowed is the kitchen worksurfaces and tables - they get a spray in the face from a washing up liquid bottle filled with water for their trouble if they try it!
The worst habit they both have is drinking fromthe toilets - we have to make everyone close the lids - the more chemicals you put inthe toilet teh more they seem to like it!! Old boy is not so flexible anymore and has fallen in a few times so we have to be careful. Youngster also loves getting in the shower with me - wierd cat......
I feed them downstairs in the laundry room so they don't really associate the kitchen with anything nice so it's not an issue.
They have a cat flap that's open all the time (except just before a vet visit!)
and they just come and go as they please - both are usually in at night, old boy used to be out hunting and with his ladies, but he is too old for all that now (16 ish!) aand youngster is just too darn lazy!
As soon as I get up to go upstairs to bed they both follow me and are on the bed before I have got there to claim their spots!
Would not be without thm for the world tho - I have an office in the house and I can hear them both prowling round in the hall as 6pm is dinner time and they are trying to encourage me to be a bit early.......

Confession time.
Am I the only one to allow cats to jump up on lap when having a poo?
:rotfl: My lil fella gets a bit too carried away with affection sometimes and trys to jump on my knee when I'm on the throne but I never let him. I do explain to him that it would take our friendship to a whole new disturbing level which he seems to accept
The big fella isn't too happy with having to sleep at my feet, thinks it's beneath him. He kept trying to creep up during the night and I had to push him gently back each time, I could feel the disappointment and the 'b.. b.. but why not mummy' in the dark

Both of my cats follow me everywhere, to the loo included. Babes my eldest used to sit on my lap whilst i was on the loo, but she's too old and heavy to jump now. So theese days they both sit at my feet in the bathroom.Confession time.

Having just a 1bed flat to call home, my cats are allowed everywhere. If I close the door of the bathroom whilst in there they both mew and cry to get in.
With regards to letting them on my bed, I do indeed. Babes doesn't get along too well with Clio (the younger cat I took in last year) so at night Babes tends to sleep on the bed at the foot and Clio sleeps under the quilt at the foot. I can only presume she does this to avoid Babes moaning fits when the wee one gets too close :rotfl:Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
This time I'm on top of it! We live and learn :coffee:0
