Enjoying the Sunshine whilst Saving for the Rainy Day

Good morning people, Well I am in a bit of a *meh* mood today and no idea why
. I have a headache brewing, change in weather will be causing that. I also have a gut feeling something bad is about to happen
I am often right with this gut feeling so have spent the whole day on edge thus far! I'm also extremely tired, 6am starts are not for me :rotfl: (you must all think i'm so lazy it's not like I even do much either!)
I've been out this morning, I went to the post office, got in the queue, got to front of queue and realised I had left my 'we missed you' red card sat at home :doh:so I pretended I needed a first class stamp to save face in front of half a dozen strangers :shhh::whistle:. Then I went to a$da as it was sort of on the way back to get some storage containers for cooking. Also picked up other odds that I had needed but they didn't sell in a1di (cheese grater, sieve, toothbrushes) and some more drinks bottles for the kids as they have been asked to bring in 2. 1 for class, 1 for lunch.
Oh and guess what the kids have already been sent home with a note 'There is a case of nits in class XX' JOY.
~~~~~~~~~~
Oh hold up, DH has just text me as I was typing. He hates his job (thankfully he remembered to tell me this or I might have forgotten!), and is reiterating his point of wanting to leave. Right-O. Sounds about right. AND he asked me to open his letters, which I have also just done. He's gone overdrawn. Ah-ha, perhaps this is the dreaded gut feeling coming into play. So it appears I, Mrs Dfw has had her LBM (many times through the years) and yet Mr Dfw has managed to escape his right up to now (and beyond) I guess I had best go transfer some money to his account. Also guessing that will be a bank charge too.:mad::mad:MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I can give your DH a kick up the bum alongside mine if you like for going overdrawn? I had to put 45 in his the other day to make sure he has some money in there!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
For nits - a comb and some value conditioner is what my mum used to use on me (years and years ago!!! haven't had them recently!!)
I remember they used to love my hair and they were so big - that memorable snap noise when my mum squashed them between two fingers . . . ah the memories! Fingers crossed your little ones are safe.
so happy you're staying with all us wannabee debt-free-ers on this board! :grouphug:
I've just transferred £80 into his bank account. that was £80 that I was going to put towards the car tax. :mad:. He really angers me sometimes he is so 'me, me, me' but never ever sees this. In fact because I told him it was a bad idea to leave work just yet (not meaning forever) he had a complete fit about how selfish I was being and I never thought about anyone else. That's so hurtful really as all I ever seem to do is put the kids, him and even the dog first
. Oh well.
My mum used to do that too! And I also used to have them loads as my hair is super thick and it was always clean ( it took us a while before we realised they preferred clean hair!) I hate them and am not looking forward to the day my kids get them as no doubt I will get them again too *shudders at the thought* oooh yuck!:o
I was thinking of leaving (and spying from a distance :rotfl:not in a stalker like way though, promise :rotfl:) but I feel like sometimes this is the only place I can talk to like-minded people and I feel quite at home here after 2 and half years of being here :rotfl::p I think we always feel better after writing it all down too, a kind of release!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Start them on the teatree oil, it works wonders and keeps them away. I also find it smells lovely
I think you should take the £80 out of his pocket money, you would if it was the kids so why should he be any different he obviously can't manage finances properly and how will he ever learn if you keep bailing him out?Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:
I didn't post my flylady progess yesterday! But when I was on in the morning I went over to the thread and had a look. It was the kids rooms and i've managed to keep these relatively clean and tidy all week :T so I just did a quick clean & tidy and also put all the clean clothes away
I've copy and pasted my goals from my last thread onto the first page of this one as otherwise I will lose them and can't keep track (it's taken me 15 mins to find them on the old thread :rotfl:)
I didn't sleep very well last night so the kids are already on last warnings this morning as my poor head can't take the noise! All they have done is fight! I went up to bed around 8 ish and couldn't sleep for hours I was so so tired though
grr will try again tonight for an early night maybe with a hot chocolate or chamomile tea and a hot bath first.
Anyway I was up at 7.30 this morning so a bit of a lie in on this week :j and I managed to stay in bed whilst the kids were [STRIKE]trashing[/STRIKE] playing in their room. They started bugging me around 8.30 for food so I relented and got up :rotfl: After they ate a whole loaf of bread between them and ds1 (toast) :eek: I hung the washing out quick as it's supposed to rain later on. It's very windy and fresh today which I quite likeeven DD said it was nice to play outside as there was some fresh air today! I've hoovered front room, swept kitchen. Tidied kitchen, emptied DW and re-filled. Bleached all the mugs and tea spoons as the DW does a rubbish job at making these clean :eek:
I'm on here as I couldn't remember what I was supposed to be getting out the freezer for dinner :rotfl::rotfl: turns out is was mince as it's a chilli night. I've got 2 loads of mince out. I will bulk it up with kidney beans & other things in the store cupboard and make 3 portions of this and freeze two. It's roast chicken for tomorrow so I'll get out the chicken as well. I will hopefully have enough meat left for a few days sandwiches but i've got 3 kids eating at school next week as ds2 starts full time so I may have to take the gammon out too ( I don't buy the processed ham or chicken if you're wondering why i'm cooking so much meat :rotfl: we really aren't that much of a pig :eek:)
I still have food in the fridge and cupboards as I was mean this week and monitored exactly what the kids were eating as I had the three extra. Start as I mean to go on. They get a slice of toast in the morning extra to what they have already eaten. Then after school they are allowed a quick snack (HM fruit loaf/bit of fruit) and then I make them dinner and then they have a 'pudding' (bit of cake/fruit/biscuit) They ALWAYS ask for more after all this and say they are starving but I just say no now. Their mum has told me to ignore them if they keep asking as they do it to her as well. She told me just to offer water or fruit. I was trying to work out how much i've spent on them for food as it comes out of my money so obviously I want to keep costs down! But i'm rubbish at working these things out so may have to make a guesstimate I am reckoning around £10 a week so £40 a month :eek: I might be wrong though (I hope)MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
