  • Well my ds1's bmx turned up today right as he was walking in from school so had no time to hide it so just let him have it early :o !! He's spent all afternoon putting it together mind you so it saved me a job ;)

Right off to look on fleabay and amazonia for a cheaper heated airer if I can't find one I'm going for the one I mentioned earlier :)

  • Couldn't find one cheaper so have ordered it :) no cash back ir codes for money off to be had anywhere, pfft!

Today is beautiful lovely and warm and windy perfect weather for clothes to dry on line. I'm so sad that I actually check the weather every day not so I know what to wear but whether or not it's ideal for drying clothes *saddo*

My ds1 has an inset day tomorrow I didn't believe him as I'd not had a letter but I just checked his school website and it's on there so no need to call and I can just pretend I decided to believe him and score some mummy points ;)

Might be a nsd today but not sure I'm meeting up with the girls soon and they might want to do breakfast (I've eaten but don't want to have to say no as I always do) so might get some (more) toast or something !

Might be back later :) having trouble getting my dell to charge stupid thing I think it's a common fault from Google but don't want to pay to fix it :( !

Have a good day all :)

What's wrong with your Dell? Is it a laptop? My connector port was all loose and I had to get Dell to come to fit a new one. If it's the power adaptor, then try a different kettle lead :)

  • Kerri I have tried different power leads as friends had dell and similar netbooks so I knew it was the right type and same problem so I think it's also a loose port same as yours. DS1's dell laptop has done the same :( ! Not impressed! I have to fiddle with it for 10 mins before it starts charging and sometimes as it was doing the other day, the battery was so low it wouldn't switch on until i'd fiddled with it so it was charging. But I like the computer to be on whilst doing it so I can see the little battery sign with the plug over it so I know it's working! Anyway it's working for now so I won't move it until it's fully charged ;)

I'm cooking a chocolate fudge cake atm, although saying that I think I ought find a new name for it as I had no sunflower oil so used virgin olive oil (is there a taste difference in a cake??) and I had no golden syrup so used honey :o oops it will probably taste foul now...although my finger's are crossed that it doesn't lol :)

I've done 3 washes today :T and dried 2 already and the third is half dry *whoop* It's looking like rain all of a sudden though so I hope it holds off till that last load is dry ;) I have an empty wash basket now :D yay!

I've made bread today and i'm down to the last bit of flour, really hoping it will last till I order some more!

I'm looking at buying a bike and everyone that is knowledgeable that I've spoken to is insisting I get a bike worth around £300 as otherwise I'll be wasting my money? I'm happy to pay that (well actually i'm not but that's another story about me being tight...) if they are right but I've held off now as I was looking at a very pretty bike with a bell and basket for only £150 and thought that was expensive till I was shown these other ones  I'm so un-knowledgeable (if you haven't already guessed ;) ) that I think perhaps I should just listen to these other people as they all either do cycling for a living (these are the people I go with on a Tuesday) or they are serious cyclists in their spare time *hmmm* they've said not to go above £400 as you'll be wasting your money so I think perhaps what they are saying is probably true then. Has anyone here spent that much on a bike and regretted it or do you love it?? I want to cycle at least 2-3 times a week on and off road so would like a decent one but not so decent that the cycle thieves we have round here are tempted to nick it (seriously!! we've had spats of burglaries where bikes are nicked to order :( )

Anyway so far today a NSD :) no brekkie paid for and I held off from the shopping I was going to do (mainly because I was bored...I made cake instead ...so instead of bored and broke I shall get fat  )

I bought a bike on our bike2work scheme for £1k, worked out about £40 a month for the year after tax etc :D I have ridden my bike a handful of times, but when I did ride it I loved taking it out with the OH. OH has also ridden it, but it's a mountain bike and I think I needed a hybrid really. Oh well, it's fun to ride. OH is so scared his bike will get nicked that he keeps it in the house!!!

You have the same thing the Dell man came out to fix on mine then, go on fleabay and order yourself one of these (but obviously you need it for your own model) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-Latitude-E6420-Laptop-Genuine-Power-Dc-Jack-Socket-/181215090363?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item2a3142d6bb Carefully undo all the screws from the back of the laptop, and this piece comes out really easily, put the new one in and voila fixed for less than £15 :)

So you don't get it again, stop using the laptop in bed :p

  • I thought I replied yesterday kerri  my message has disappeared somewhere lol?! Will get DH to look at that ebsy link tomorrow see if he can do it for me :D

I've bought a bike :T £270 with £100 off the price it is in our local bike shop :T I like to support locally but not for that price difference unfortunately :o it should be here Monday and I'm super excited :)

Ds1 hsd an inset day today so I took him out for some bonding time and it was a good day if a little spendy as he needed new trainers (old ones fallen apart) and we also picked up a few bargains as we went to the factory outlet place down the road ;). No spends needed tomorrow and Sunday now to redeem myself a little bit:o

  • Morning

Well I totally failed on the flylady front this last week so am planning on having a catch up day today! Will try and stay on top of it next week :o

I need to do a shopping list and a meal plan for October too :(!!

I'm full of cold and feeling slightly sorry for myself today....on the upside DH said no to an invitation last night to go to his mum's house today, I'm not sure i would have coped with the 7 screaming kids all day after all I've done that all week and today is my quiet day :)

Ds1 has asked if we can buy another printer as he's had to spend all his lunches in the I.t room printing off homework. I feel like I'm leaking money left, right and centre. But I guess we've done without for so long now we're debt free it feels like everything needs replacing at once when in reality some of it needed replacing over a year ago and I just never bothered so as to save money. Ds1 is doing maths, science and English gcse's this coming year though so I guess I ought to get the printer and put off buying something else :think: at this rate we will have no emergency funds left!

You can pick up a printer pretty cheaper these days, I think I paid £35 for mine and it's fairly decent with a scanner and wireless. It's the ink that costs the most for them grrr. Don't forget cashback when you're buying though.
