Hey all!
Just been trying to add up money and see what needs paying where tomorrow but my brain is fried so i've given up and thought i'd come check in here instead
DD was sick all night
I've been super ill too but no sickness thank god (i'm very rarely actually sick anyway so think it's the same bug
) I'm so tired that I think I might drop kids off tomorrow and go back to bed. DD had perked up immediately after throwing up everywhere so has been back to normal today :T They both had their swimming lesson earlier and loved it so glad I went in there now and spent all my money
I'm trying to work swimming lessons into my budget but they are quite expensive really (for 2 kids anyway...) and so there is no easy way to add it in aside from taking away from the house fund each time! So I've done that and now the house fund is sitting at only £150 per month being added to it which isn't enough really for me to ever see it getting anywhere
I've already decided I am cancelling my phone contract & tv contract before the end of the year. I will go to freeview and payg for the phone (keep old phone if possible and just get new sim) so that should free up some money but nothing is immediate! I'm so impatient
I've decided to set a weekly budget for food & petrol and personal spends and anything left at the end of the week will go to savings so I will set an amount later on and see if I can stick to it. Thing is money comes in all over the place during the month so it's tricky to try and do!
NN mother & father are over, i'm quite glad mediation has been cancelled for tomorrow, i'm not really feeling very well and i'd forgotten that they are just as loud as NN is so that would have been a nightmare! I wonder if they even realise just how loud they are?!
SO anyway, bath & bed for two little ones, I will see how DD is tomorrow morning as to whether she is having the day off, she's fine atm so hoping a good night sleep will sort her out for sure. I will also be going to bed as I did last night and the night before as I'm just so tired and run down!
I hope everyone is ok, i've not had a chance to pop into the diaries much with sicky household and things going on so I hope you're all ok

Evening DFW,
Sorry to hear your still having trouble with the neighbours, would be much better is they were just shipped out! Im glad its mediation is cancelled for tomorrow with you not feeling so great. I had DD2 off back end of last week with sickness, must be doing the rounds again.
Oh yes I know all about the expensive swimming lessons, we have 2 in them too. It is worth it though so I see it as a necessary expense.
Hope youre feeling better soon xxMummytogirls x0 -
Hi DFw, :hello:
Apologies for zilching m' post yesterday - took so long to write it that you'd posted several times, things had changed, and I wanted to think more about your NN.
It doesn't quite add up. If this woman has been diagnosed, then she's being failed by her MH team. She's had two stressful events [moving and a new baby], and it's known that meds levels will probably need adjusting at such times - so either the MH nurse at her GP's surgery, or the hospital team if she's been admitted in the past, should be monitoring her regularly.
Can't help wondering whether NN decided to stop taking her meds while pregnant, and just never went back to her doctor for the dosage to be re-assessed?
But if NN has a documented history of MH problems, her parents' behaviour simply doesn't make sense. You said they have given you grief as well - but surely, it would be more natural to come and have a quiet word with you to explain why their daughter may behave strangely at times, and ask your forbearance?
Anyway. Good thing mediation isn't going to happen without both hubbies being present, although not great for you having to avoid the woman in the meantime.
Swimming lessons - imho - are an essential part of a parent's responsibility in preparing their off-spring for life. Please don't be guilty for splurging there - think how you'd feel if you had to move into your own new home without one of your kids, due to a terrible accident in the water?
Booking a course of lessons should guarantee both kids soon become confident swimmers; it amazes me every time how fast a child progresses once they catch the trick of keeping afloat.
Plus of course, it's a fun thing to do that gets you out of the house for a while; you'll be able to relax out of earshot of NN.
Hope you shift the bug and feel better soon; sleep well tonight (((hugs))).

As an instructor I have to agree swimming lessons is an essential spend not a luxury. Accidents in water are common and even the most confident swimmers can struggle. It is also amazing stress relief and a lovely family activity. My DD can actually swim frontcrawl for longer than me. As the last time we went she pulled 40 lengths off without stopping !! Makes me feel old.
NN needs to hurry up and move ! Xxx
Glad you haven't actually been sick my DD was last week just the once and then seemed fine apart from having an ear infection. Up until been sick she had complained for days about stomach.sealed pot challenge 099

Thanks for dropping in MTG, Robin & Shinner
We're definitely continuing with the swim lessons, the kids would never let up if I didn't
I did all this for ds1 too and wouldn't forgive myself if only one of my children got all these extras!
Robin, DH & I were discussing NN and we wonder if this is a new diagnosis not an ongoing one? This would explain the parent's behaviour as well as hers, and also explain why this has gone on for 6 months and i've not been made aware of any of this before now. I don't know for sure but it's just the feeling i'm getting from what was said, unless of course the alternative being you are correct and she had stopped taking her meds (when she moved in she was pregnant) and never went to the new drs to be reassessed. As she'd moved so far whilst being pg she would have needed to re-register herself and sort it all out and perhaps this never happened? Either way it explains the behaviour but to me doesn't excuse the fact she's singled me out all along to bully with her intimidating behaviour.
Anyway...on to a more positive note
Today is pay day :T:j
I've not bought anything yet (i.e the usuals on pay day- petrol and food) as I took the doggy for a 2 hour stroll down to the beach
I'm still full of cold and it helped to clear it a little, and we timed it just right as it started raining just as we got home! I'm changed in warm clothes now (was in shorts and wellies earlier :rotfl: I looked very fetching lol) and a chilling out for the day. I think a treat for the kids tonight of fish & chips is in order (because mummy is feeling lazy and tired) and I will get the food shopping tomorrow once I know what has come in and out of my account
I've chased up my expenses and they should be with me soon so that £50 can go towards my monthly income. I've set up lots of standing orders and payments for tomorrow (topping up savings accounts and paying credit cards, dh is pocket money and ds1 his pocket money) so after tomorrow I should be more aware of what is left
I want to buy a sander and some paint with my pocket money this month, i want to repaint my table and chairs and do my dresser that has been sat in my kitchen for months
:D.
So for now, cake (that I made yesterday), tea, and Gordon's kitchen nightmares

Afternoon
I've done my volunteering for the week with HS, had a stroll round a$da with her (bumped into my neighbour too  can I not get away from her!) and had a nice chat and that's nearly my day gone
I did manage to get a wash done and hung out before the school run so not a total write off of a day ...I also picked up dinner and a few pack up bits for the week ahead whilst in a$da so I didn't need to go to a1di until tomorrow. Cost me £14 though and I didn't really get a lot  My HS lady spent £70 on bottles of water/coke and nappies :eek: so I felt I did ok actually with 2 possible dinners and lunch things. I couldn't believe some of the things she buys when I am happy to have the free version or go without (i.e squash, flavoured water, plain water) But I guess once upon a time I was the same
I did get her to buy some vinegar (white) instead of calgon though :money: told her of the multiple uses of it and she looked bored by the end so I gave up and shut up :rotfl: one step at a time huh
My bank has paid everyone it needs to now including savings pots so I will see what is left now and try and split into spends for the week. By the time I get to the shops for a weekly shop the week will nearly be up anyway so hoping for small spends this week now when i do get to a1di
. I need to do a list and a meal plan still....
DD has her trip on Thursday and i'm helping out on it so will need an extra packed lunch for me that day. They had a hot dinner in school today so I need to pay for that.
My ip0d has arrived :T i'm just charging it up and downloading i tunes at the moment and then I will try and transfer all my music on to it
wish me luck!

Spendy day today, I'm quite chuffed I've only just spent some money though considering I was paid on Monday :rotfl::cool: I'm usually straight out getting food in etc! I've divided my usual grocery budget into 5 because it's a 5 week month and tried to stick to budget! Should be easy to last until next Weds/Thurs as DS1 is away from Sun-Thurs this weekend coming on a field trip and DH is already away so just me and the little ones for 4 days. Stupidly though I forgot this before going shopping :wall: so actually bought more than I needed
Will use up the perishables but try and eek out other bits like milk, cheese & meats! I spent £90 (or thereabouts, just under- can't be bothered to get the receipt!) so that was bang on really. Also popped into a cheapy shop on the way home and spent £35 there
wasn't all needed either so that was naughty
Most of it (around £30) was on a bird feeder, bird food and a new clock for the bathroom . So at least the birds will be happy now and I will know whether i'm running late in the mornings when in the shower or not
Also picked up £25 worth of toys in toy shop for ds2 birthday was really chuffed with my finds and then got home to find he already had the dinosaurs I had just gone and bought :wall: I'm clearly no paleontologist am I
:rotfl: SO I will take those back and see if I can find suitable alternatives otherwise will get my money back (£12.99).
I've just claimed £7.35 cashback from my national trust tickets I bought a while back, it's only just become available and good job they had emailed me as i'd forgotten! Usually takes 3 days to hit my bank so will wait for that and that can go against some of my bird spends
DS1 is seeing if he needs anything buying for his trip today, am hoping NOT to save some money :money: especially as he will only be using it for 4 days. I know he needs some new jogging bottoms and jeans but that is what his £60 a month is for so he will have to buy it himself  I might still give him the £30 "suggested pocket money" for the trip though as I know all his friends will have it, I've seen the cars they drive and the houses they live in
Tomorrow I am going on a school trip with DD, then DS1 has a parent's evening that he is helping out with (I am just needed for picking him up after) and Friday I think I have free to clean the house (finally
:D) I should have done that today but the bird feeder took me 1 hour to put together. It should have taken 5 mins but I am a bit of a div really I hammered the lower part of the stand into the ground so it went deeper in and would be more sturdy. Then I was supposed to just slot the rest of the stand on the lower part. Well of course I had hammered the bottom part so much it had changed the shape of it so the higher parts no longer "just slotted on"
I had to sit there for nearly an hour hammering it back into shape :rotfl: I felt stupid to say the least
:rotfl:
Right Fajitas for dinner and salad so I best get cracking! Hope everyone is well

School trip was today and i'm absolutely cream crackered after it. The bus was sweltering hot and by the end of the day we were all melting, the kids were moaning and asking every 2 mins when we were going to be home and I was nearly asleep from the heat! Aside from that though it was a great day and DD loved having her mummy there to help
Wasn't a NSD as planned because I managed to drink 2l of water around the farm by 2pm and needed to buy another drink  I stupidly bought a fizzy drink though as was hot and tired and thought the sugar might help but it just made me more dehydrated and gave me a headache. Lol one day perhaps I will learn ....I always do things like this :wall:
I would like to be going to bed right now with the little ones but am waiting up for DS1. I've got a friend coming to sit with the 2 little ones for half hour whilst I whizz over to collect ds1 so am hoping he is out on time and there is no traffic. Two smaller ones are finishing watching a film first (101 dalmations) and then I will put them up to bed
