    Hello DFw, :hello:

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. It's the curse of Mums trying to raise kids when their partner is away (or non-existent). I found/find Echinacea invaluable for such times. It has mixed reviews but imho does speed up recovery time significantly (especially combined with immune-system boosting foods; eg. garlic, fruit rich in vitamin C, ginger etc)..

Maybe the mate you loaned ££ to could help with a shopping run tomorrow, if you're still feeling rough?

So sad to read you are still in conflict with neighbour, and that her dog's behaviour is progressing as predicted. :(

Why is it that all the lovely people always seem to get lumbered with one Nasty Neighbour? :o

Great news re new tenants though - do hope they are gems. ;)
  • hey DFW321!

Just wanted to add to others to say hope you feel better soon - and also add that when I'm not feeling too good with my stomach and can't eat much I swear by rice water - the water you cook plain rice in - it really helps to settle a stomach and gives nutrients you need when recovering from a fever/flu.

and boo to your horrible neighbour - some people can be so vindictive - I had a flatmate once who became very vindictive when I stood up to her once (she liked getting her own way) - her father phoned up my grandmother and started telling lies about me to her - I mean, who does that?!!!! but these people get their come-uppance - karma and all so I hope it all blows over for your sake soon and for that poor dog's sake next door who I feel very very sorry for :(

keep your pecker up chuck and we're all here for you if you want to talk about it :grouphug: xx

    Hi DFW.

Great news about tenants. Are you still letting through an agency? Three unrelated adults will need an HMO license (in Scotland at any rate).

We ended up in this murky world once, with Polish tenants oddly enough. We ended up renting to two of them (legal) and then found they'd moved their mates in (illegal) and some of them were living in the living room (with a back boiler - beyond illegal, H&S everything).

When we played their lease back to them they said they sort it out. Next I knew they threatened to move out with no notice if I didn't cut the rent by 10%.

I let them go and waved goodbye.

Sorry if that's a horror story when you're not well but HMO is a whole world of trouble unless you're in that market.

In England you only have to have a mandatory licence if your HMO is over 3 levels and you have 5 seperate households living in one house.

Some LA's have introduced a discretionary licensing of HMO's (especially if there are problems within their own areas such as HMO's which are not up to standard).

You should be able to find info out on your LA's website.

Forgot to say great news on having some tenants.
  • I've got a letting agent so they can sort it all out for me :)

I had a temperature again all night so am tired as h3ll today. Got to wait in for a repair man otherwise i'd either be in bed or out shopping (so i can sleep in the afternoon!). I'm trying to decide what to cook the kids later as i've nothing in and no energy to do a big shop. I've got potatoes in so may just pop to the local coop and get some sausages to go with them.

AH door bell just went and it was the repairman he's decided he doesn't want to paint my gate so has got me to sign and off he's gone. Yay. SO now I can pop to the shops I think and then chill out once i'm home. :)

I really need to fill out my spreadsheets i've not done it all week because i've been feeling yukky but need to do it before I forget about everything that has been bought :o.

Hope everyone is well. I tried to post on a few diaries on my Nook last night but it was hit and miss, some just went awol into cyber space and others did work  will try and catch up again later :)

    Hi DFW,

So sorry to hear you are feeling rough. Be good to yourself and relax on the sofa or in bed.

When I get run down from worry or just being super busy, I always get ill.

Take it easy, hope you feel better soon xx

Thank you Steph, I always seem to get ill when I stress myself out too :(

I went off to the co-op and the road was closed! I ended up being diverted towards the big a$da so ended up there! I got myself some new jeans whilst in there as well as enough dinners until at least Friday (I hope!). Spends have been put into the spreadsheets and if I can get to Friday with what I have then I'll be doing ok as i'll be half way through the month and half way through the budget spends ;)

Right off to finish catching up on call the midwife and maybe a little rest on the sofa :)
