Morning, well they never turned up so I took a friend and off we went to get the dog to take her for a walk. However, she ended up taking us for a walk and i've hurt my shoulder and my hand where she had pulled so much . The fleshy bit under my thumb is in agony and really really hurting *boo hoo* and my shoulder feels like it has been pulled out of place . I won't be offering my services again for that job! She gets walked 2x a day usually and my friend hadn't walked her for just one day as she had been in the office longer than expected so was more bouncy than usual. But wow! She is so strong that we ended up being dragged there and back :eek: I am very grateful we chose a small dog for our family . I've checked my bank account quickly and a few small DD's have gone out for charity but that is all. I've got £20 pending on there which is for 4 small presents I bought for parties we have coming up. We've one next week which both my younger two have been invited too so i've bought the little boy 2 presents which were around £5 each. My niece's party is end of the month and i've got her 2 presents also so both my children have something to give her (again only around £5 each) but neither were budgeted for this month and I didn't want to break into the xmas fund so i've taken it out of the £100 which has been sat in the bank (which shouldn't be spare according to my spreadsheet.....)
I've decided to try and manage on the cash I have out of my bank and in my cash tins until the end of the month. Then I potentially have just under £200 to transfer over to my savings. I'm very aware that my job is coming to an end very soon (a :j and also a ) and whilst I won't miss the stress, no food in the house thanks to kids eating it all and no time for my kids, I will miss the money! So hoping that I start getting some tenancy money through very soon so I can re-work the budget and savings plans! ) and whilst I won't miss the stress, no food in the house thanks to kids eating it all and no time for my kids, I will miss the money! Morning,
Today is a catching up on washing day as i've neglected the washing basket for at least half the week! I had it emptied by around Tuesday and I wish i had taken a picture now as it rarely happens :rotfl:
I also need to go shopping for food. If I can manage on the cash in my tin that will mean £85 per week for food. I've annoyingly noticed that I'm just running out/ already run out of lots of cupboard items so these will have to be replenished too. If I do a fair number off veggie meals though I may be able to pull this off still.
My two DSs are both in bed sleeping still, as well as the dog, so just DD & myself up...I also would have chosen to sleep in but if DD isn't eating her breakfast but 7.30 every morning she turns into some sort of gremlin, or something, haven't dared risk it to see as she gets grumpy enough by 7am
I found a nice house on RM yesterday for it to be perfect it would need some walls knocking down and new ones put up (Yes I watch far too much of kirsty alsops programmes (Yes I watch far too much of kirsty alsops programmes ) but the garden is nice and big, there is only one neighbour and it's rural. It's a fair distance from the city though which is a shame as that's where my sister currently lives and i'd like to be closer i think. But if dh can actually get a mortgage we'd be good to go on this one now as I reckon we could get it a little cheaper  ) but the garden is nice and big, there is only one neighbour and it's rural. I'm going to finish my herbal tea now and finish knitting a square and then maybe think about doing some jobs! Hope everyone is well Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Shopping came in at £63 for the week. I can't help feeling like i've forgotten something for it to be so cheap . Cash has been put back in the cash tin in case I need to get anything else during the week. The meal plan this week consists mainly of veggie meals and lots of pasta! It's nice and quick and when I have lots of after school clubs during the week it's easy! My DD & DS2 have been invited to a party during the week so they will get fed there one day, if I can get them there that is! I haven't got room in my car for 5 kids and myself  so am hoping DH will be around for half hour or so . .
I cut ds2 & dd hair this morning. DD has an awful habit of biting her hair as well as her nails so it was all split at the front. DS2 has curly hair so I trimmed it to keep it under control. Not too much though in case I cut all the curls out and they never grow back again :rotfl: I did this with DS1 who also used to have lovely hair and now it's straight! so it was all split at the front. As I type I have a load of Kale in the oven baking. I'm attempting to make crisps after DH bought home a whole load of kale the other week and I have just found it at the back of the salad drawer oops! Kids won't eat it as it is so I'm hoping to tempt them with crisps oops! Kids won't eat it as it is so I'm hoping to tempt them with crisps Hope they turn out nice! Hope they turn out nice!
Today is a NSD :T i've had quite a few this month which I think has helped with money being left over in the bank so far. I could buy my paint with it for my dresser that I want to make over, but i'm on a mission to save as much as I can at the moment as I know my friend will be moving soon and taking my job with her . .
I've got to go and see my DD's headteacher tomorrow as she came home saying some rather disturbing things last week and on Friday evening she said something awful which she had obviously picked up from someone else (something sexual in nature and my kids don't hear me talking about it nor the t.v as I vet everything that goes on there!) I'm so disturbed by it it's made me feel ill all weekend through stress. I know it's going to cause ructions in the playground as the girl my dd got it from has a mother who loves to cause trouble I can't and won't let this drop though, it was something no 5 year old should be saying! Thankfully my DD had no idea what she was talking about even after extensive questioning from me  We have had over half a dozen letters home from school in the last term asking parent's to stop letting their kids watch 18s and play GTA amongst other games so I am assuming they have already had many complaints from parents or teachers from what kids are picking up so hoping it will be productive. The quicker I get away from this place, the better in my opinion hence me saving as much as possible as quickly as i can. Even if I don't manage to get a mortgage with DH we will look to rent from May onwards next year.....just over a year left here I can't and won't let this drop though, it was something no 5 year old should be saying! Anyway back to cleaning for me, DH is due home in the next 4 hours :T:j and he called last night to say he'd found his lost phone :j however as he'd cancelled it he can't use it as the sim was blocked and he has to wait for a new one! Well the first batch of kale crisps are done and they are yummy. DS1 thought they were "o.k" and ds2 and DD nearly keeled over and died from the "disgusting taste" Hmm oh well, at least I like them and the kids won't be fighting with me to share them will they Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Great to hear good news on food budget. I have never tried kale but hear good and bad reviews. Will have to look and see if i can find some to try. My hair used to be very curly when i was younger and a very famous and expensive hair dresser cut it and they never grew back - we never went there again! Morning!
Well DH came home at dinnertime yesterday so the kids were uber excited to see him :T I've dropped kids off and spoken to the head teacher, it went easier than I thought it would and as suspected she didn't seem surprised to hear which child had been saying these things!
I've been showing DH the house I liked on RM and he likes it too, he's going to call a mortgage adviser at some point to see what sort of likelihood it will be that we can even get a mortgage after our credit histories have been ruined If it's a definite NO then I will stop looking, if it's anywhere near a yes then I will carry on If it's a definite NO then I will stop looking, if it's anywhere near a yes then I will carry on . .
I need to do the banking yet and have a tidy round I seem to have lost my motivation though I just want to go and lie down and rest  that bug knocked my energy totally! Should be a NSD today i've nothing planned to spend so will try and keep a tight rein on spends all this week! I just want to go and lie down and rest  that bug knocked my energy totally! Well I did my banking and still have £120 in there. I've been over the spreadsheets a hundred times and can't find any spare cash  everything has been allocated to a fund/bill/savings  I also have the hundred due bk from my friend so that is potentially two hundred spare! All of which will be heading for my isa if it is still spare by this time next week
I bumped into my friend that I lent the hundred pounds to, she's clearly spent all of it without budgeting and was "testing the water" for more. I could just tell as I had the same speech given to me a few weeks bk from her I don't want to be rude but I've worked my way out of a ruddy big hole by learning to budget, shop around and stop buying carp. Over the last week she's been to McD's, sainsbug for her shopping (have advised she try ald1 but she refuses!), put petrol in the car amongst other things. My thinking was that hundred quid was emergency money and should have been used as frugally as possible to feed her family until payday (perfectly possible too!) And now I've come to the conclusion that I will just have to say no if she asks again.I just hope I get the first lot of money bk !! She's also told me that she owes £400 on payday to pawn shops for stuff they pawned and another £300 to doorstop loans  I don't know if I can advise her, or even if I should. I kind of wish I hadn't lent her the money now as I've just made her payday even harder! They will literally have nothing left  Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. I wouldn't lend her anymore money as I don't think she will be in a position to pay you back if ever, if she owes to other parties they will want their share as well. If she hasn't learnt a lesson about her spending habits and doesn't accept advise from a friend then I don't think she ever will and will probably blame everybody except herself.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000
