So sorry to hear of your Dad's op and problems. Hard on everyone - not least for him. Hope he recovers quickly.

What a crazy buyer! I hope that your solicitor comes down hard on them. Worryingly it's going to be expensive if this sale fails now.

At least your ebay news is positive - very well done.

So pleased that your Dad is home and recovering, you must have been so worried and absolutely shattered.

I hope that the queries on your home are resolved very soon, it is so wearing when this stuff happens.

Brilliant news on the bay sales.

At this rate, the ebay sales are going to pay the solicitor. Luckily I am on a fixed fee. I am hoping that my threat of pulling out will shock the buyer into sorting themselves out, but if not, perhaps the other interested party might still want the house.

It's good that your ebay sales will cover the solicitor's fee but it would have been great if you could have used for something nicer. Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

    Take care.

Hello Piq, sending some positive vibes your way. Glad your Dad is on the mend. Scary.
Echoing Granny's words, goodly sums of money for things that you no longer need, at least that has been a win-win situation. Delighted the Chaos warrior brought in such a nice little pot of cash. May he not be the only chaos to depart swiftly.

The solicitors of my house buyer are being hemorrhoids. They want a certificate for just about everything, I don't have anything they require. I have instructed my solicitor to tell them that I will cancel the sale. The buyers knew that the house was old and needed work done on it and any work that has been done was done at least ten years ago. They can sling their hook.... In the meantime the buyer keeps contacting me wanting to buy almost the entire house contents as she loves it so much - very very irritated

    .

Does the buyer even know what her solicitor is asking for?

It seems odd that her contact is so different to the solicitors?

I think the solicitor is trying to cover himself in case anything goes wrong in the future and they come back to him.

Can you speak to the buyer direct and say that her solicitor is being a nightmare and explain why and see what she says?

My thoughts as well. Solicitor is just banging out standard stuff, speak to your buyers - they will know the windows are not new etc.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
