Without wishing to bore you further, still coughing in an eye-watering style...
I'm having problems with my laptop, may need to post a question on the techie board soon, wish I could be guaranteed an answer I understood *sigh* I've been round the mac boards via google and understood nothing except things are not as they should be.
On a lighter note. Colin was gifted a mouse from heaven. There he was minding his own business sitting in the sun outside, when suddenly a mouse fell from the sky landing just in front of him. Being the brave cat he is, he ran off and hid in a bush only venturing out when he was sure whatever dropped it wasn't coming to get the mouse and Colin back
To be honest he didn't know what to do with it, he batted it with his paw a couple of times, looked at me in a pleading fashion, then sat back and watched it wiggle. Eventually the mouse recovered and ran off under the gate. Colin just looked relieved :rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Hilarious ! Colin & the mouse .. I caught my Jack Russell playing with a rolled up hedgehog on the lawn the other night, Said hog was rolled up tight but dog was determined to get him out ... Quite funny to watch, but the soft side of me grabbed the hedgehog and put him away in some long grass and took dog inside for a while ! She was most put out about having her new interactive toy removed !
Dog was flea treated again !!
This cold is a doozy to shift, Im coughing still after a week and a half ... more hot toddies needed to aid sleepIts just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
Not sure if I can help but I've got a Mac. Generally I just expect it all to work (as their old ads used to say) - well, it was a good selling point for me! I'm just going to venture into the kitchen but I'll be back later.
Love Colin and the Mouse story!! Many moons ago I had a cat who was frightened of the mice my other cat used to acquire!0 -

Love the mouse story :rotfl:The Fortunate Cat brings in lizards. When she releases them they face her with a front leg raised - as if about to strike. She truly believes they will bop her on the nose and runs to fetch me to save her from the fearsome creature.

Bless your Colin! He isnt a tiger on the tiles as some are, however there is room for non hunting cats in my opinion - I have a couple who dont aspire to catch anything bar the odd butterfly or if they are feeling inclined, a leaf.
I did have an incident when I was a teenager at my parents where one evening, it was dark and misty and I was in the dining room. I could see the cat hunkered down and intent on the patio. The noise eminanting from the patio was a squeal. It was a a very disturbing noise and I was scared of what I might see when I put the light on. I imagined a childs beloved guinea pig or something... but no. It was a toad. The cat had his head on one side, studying it. Occasionally, he would bop the toad on the head, at which point the toad would squeal! I rescued toady and dragged the cat indoors.
Mind, he wasnt the best hunter I had. While I was on holiday once my parents had to have my back door removed. The reason? My cat had tried to drag a badger in the house, failed, rigor mortis had set in and my parents were faced with an immovable badger and a pair of trapped cats when they called to feed them.
Anyway, sorry for cat chat.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Hope you are feeling much improved today.
I have cat stories a-plenty - mostly mouse related (and I'm paranoid about mice in the house). If I could be guaranteed a Colin type pacifist then I would have another cat!0 -
'Morning Piq, :hello:
Hope the cough is going away by now (have you made yourself some Amazing MSE onion & honey Cough-Cure?).On a lighter note. Colin was gifted a mouse from heaven. Being the brave cat he is, he ran off and hid in a bush only venturing out when he was sure whatever dropped it wasn't coming to get the mouse and Colin back

:rotfl: Oh, bless dear Colin! ..What a lucky mouse to escape an aerial predator [presumably], and then to encounter a pacifist cat - he'll be squeaking that story to his offspring for the rest of his life!
I have a small problem at the other end of the scale; think there is a centipede - one of the alarming orange and black striped ones - living in Clever Dog's favourite armchair..
Every few days she wakes me in the middle of the night, obviously "hunting" eagerly as she digs into the cushions..
Must wait for two strong visitors to arrive at the same time so they can turf that chair outside; meanwhile the only remedy is to make CD sleep on my end of my bed (and keep a hammer handy in case this six-inch-long creepy-crawly ventures into the open - despite Buddhist principles am not happy about sharing our home with a venomous insect!).0
