Sorry about that. It was because of men, snickers and deep fat fryers that I didn't post back. I fell asleep watching True Detective and woke as the end credits rolled wondering why there was a man in underpants and what looked like a gas mask standing in a field. I will have to rewind to where I left the proceedings :rotfl:

Sooooo, I worked Thursday evening, it was very busy and I was rushed off my feet serving customers. I noticed the man who works in the club upstairs go into the kitchen. I assumed it was to make himself a sandwich or cup of tea. But no. He has had the bright idea that he will fry himself a snickers bar in the deep fat fryer. Why????? What made him think that was a good idea? Had it worked it wouldn't have exactly been healthy!

Hearing the shouting from the kitchen I find him lobbing mugs of boiling oil across the room into the closed bin. As I watched in that split second of '!!!!!!' he proceeded to throw a cup of water into the boiling oil. Of course the oil sorted of exploded into a hissing spitting volcano of mess complete with bits of exploded snickers bar.

Hauling out the reject of the male race by the collar, really I pulled him out by the collar, I called him by a couple of choice names too rude to print, checked he was alright. Slid across the oily floor with a tea towel in front of my face and turned the fryer off.

Continuing to berate him about the stupidity of his idea for the snickers bar I suggested he start to clear it up. But no, it turns out he has customers and can't stay. What a surprise

By now I am absolutely fuming. I honestly can't believe how angry I was, don't remember feeling rage like it for a long time :( Being on my own with lots of customers of my own I had to continue to work. When it had died down by about 11:30pm I went to find him to discover he had locked up and gone home:mad:

After clearing up the general areas, cashing up etc it took me another two hours to clear the kitchen, all whilst fuming. I paid myself overtime out the till, no way was I doing it for free and went home.

As luck would have it the owner came in yesterday and I told him a calmed down version. He went ballastic :D Stormed off to the club shouted lots and then a bit more [I don't think anyone will be using the kitchen anytime soon] Handed me a fifty pound note as recompense for the trouble they had put me to and left.

If you're still with me, that's the story of the man, snickers bar and deep fat fryer as well as my excuse for falling asleep on the sofa when I'd promised to post on here....

Today I must bank the overtime and £50, try and find a more comfortable pair of shoes, make some soup and go to work. Not the most exciting of Saturdays I'm afraid :D

:rotfl:Oh dear :rotfl:. Still, you're £50 plus overtime to the good :D.

PS - he should have put it in batter first. Rookie mistake. Me being a Scot and all I know these things ;).

I've heard of deep fried Mars Bars, but thought they were coated in batter first before they were thrown into the fryer! Xx
