I'm sorry about your friend's wife. Breast cancer is a truly evil disease; I watched my mum die from it. I also sat with her while she had her chemo joking and laughing with the other ladies who were having their chemo too. Then, one by one mum would tell me that they had died. She's actually buried next to one of the ladies she went through her chemo with, purely coincidence, that lady was only 34 with 3 young kids. It broke mum's heart, not for her, she knew she didn't have much time, but she used to say, even though I'm only 54 at least I've had half a life and have seen my kids grow into adults, so many of these women won't see their kids grow into adults or get to meet their grandchildren.

5 weeks is a very short amount of time though, I can't decide if that's a blessing or not. Having seen lots of people linger, my mum for 3 years, that in itself is hard. I've seen her so sick from the medication she almost didn't survive that. Life is very precious though and we do need to grab all opportunities. I've toned that theory down a bit from, life is so short, too short not to buy that handbag:D to, life is too short to worry about things which really don't matter. I'm waffling again aren't I :rotfl:

Hey Keren missed that I am guilty of scanning over posts sometimes only looking for the innuendos. Its awful aint it and so young as well - it does bring it home to bear doesnt it. You some years ago when I was getting down to it with the lucky Mrs Lenny (she hasnt realised), whilst fondling one of her funbags, I came across a lump. Now in the deepest darkest throws of passion and sweat, it stopped me right in my tracks. I was horrified and franly absolutely terrified, I feared th worst and it wasnt even my lump. Thankfully it turned out not to be the C word. Do you know, I don't check my nuts - and I know that is so pathetic but I cant. I give them a cursrory stroke, cringe and say 'yeah they're fine' - who am I kidding eh.

You do look a bit like Edith Bowman tigtag - I think she's really pretty, although I hope you haven't got her dress sense!

Edith babes (just in case you're reading) - white tights don't look good on ANYONE!

Edit - I wrote this post before I read the ones about people fighting cancer, it was just bad luck that it landed in the middle of them.....I didn't mean to sound as though I was making light of it, sorry.

Toto, your post was lovely, really touching. Anyone who has watched someone fighting cancer would be able to relate to everything you have said. I've watched my Gran fight it and lose, and my little sister fight it and win, and it's horrible to see someone you love in pain and not be able to do anything to help.

The deciding fact is the suffering. Better five weeks of unbearable suffering than 3 years, but better 3 years of quality life than 5 weeks.

Life is too short to worry about things that won't change when they're worried about. Worry for effect, not for self-indulgence.
