Hi everyone,
So, here is the official Lenny v the girls challenge. Our friend Lenny is going beneath the seas for 3 months and in that time he has vowed to lose 10kg or 22lbs. I think us girls can beat him and lose more.
Each day we will post here everything we have put in our mouths and what exercise we have done. We will weigh in once a week, you don't have to post weights if you don't want to.
We will meal plan which will help us to not only lose the fat but lose the debt too. We should set ourselves a weekly spend budget for our challenge food so no one is tempted to buy special diet aids which aren't budgeted for. It would be great if people could post their free exercise ideas so we can motivate each other not just to be accountable for our food but also our exercise.
So, I will start. I am setting myself £15 per week out of my food budget for my diet food which the rest of the family might not eat. I have weighed in this morning at 9st 13 lbs, which might not sound much but my fighting weight is 7st 8. I'm very petite under all of the flab, so I really am in the same boat as the taller, larger framed ladies.

:hello:
Me, me, me and being that OH needs to loose a few lbs too I will not be setting aside ANY extra for the [STRIKE]rabbit[/STRIKE] diet food.
We are living on a very tight budget at the moment anyway with OH being out of work so will be setting the shopping at £40  (Thats for 2 adults and 2 kiddo's)
I will plan a shopping list with prices from asda online and stick merciously to it when actually there:)
Good luck laydee's:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -
Righty ho Lenny - you ready for this?!
I started yesterday so I'll weigh in on a Monday. i've got the shopping coming this afternoon from Asda but I'm using as much store cupboard stuff as possible to start with to keep the initial costs down.
I was a bit un-MSE and last week joined of the online slimming websites where you can choose your meals, enter it into your profile each day and there are charts with progress, average amounts lost, target dates etc etc.I like to play around with stuff like that seeing how far I can eek out my daily calories!!! It cost just under £60 for the year but as it will take me well over a year to get to my target of 11stone 7 I felt it was worth the investment. And, in a very MSE way, I did it through quidco and get 25% back and the £15 is already going through their system ,so its cost me £45 for the year.
I'm definitely not posting my weight as it is a shameful state of affairs. Ideally I'd like 3 stone off by Blackpool (with then still loads to go) and know that is a tough mission in 13 weeks but I'm going to aim high and see how far I get.
i'm tucking into muesli, banana and skimmed milk as I type. I think I'm going to have a chickpea curry for lunch and then a potato, bean and mozzarrella bake for dinner.
OH is away at the moment and I find it easier when he isn't around.
Exercise will consist of dog walking and whilst on my own in the house dancing to the cheesy 70s glitz mix disco type stuff on the radio. Exercise ain't my thing!
Good luck to the girls - we can beat him hands down!"Stay Wonky":D

Ok, my meal plan for today is
Breakfast... coffee and a fruit smoothie
Mid morning more coffee
Lunch...leafy salad with tuna
mid afternoon apple
Dinner sea bass (yellow label in tesco) with green beans and small jacket potato.
everything is in my shopping budget apart from the sea bass which only I will eat. So that's £2.19 out of my budget but I have a spare for later in the week too.:A

Right here we go
I've allowed £30 as OH has said he'll join me when he's at home - hes still going to eat greasy bacon and egg sandwiches whilst at work
So for the both of us tonight we are having lightly seasoned chicken breasts with salad and maybe 1 or 2 new potatoes.
I've had my Bran Flakes with skimmed milk this morning and will be having a tuna salad for lunch with extra low fat mayo.
But have bought flavoured water as I can't drink water from the tap so far I have spent £1.10 for two bottles.
We're going to eat whats in the freezer and cupboards - all the low fat stuff I bought but never ate - fish and chips was much easier and quicker :rotfl:
Bring it on Lenny!!!!0 -
Count me in :T
Just having some strawberries and a drink of water. Had a cup of tea this morning, no sugar (would have had 2 sugars usually)
My lunch every day is a school dinner - usually tuna salad or a jacket potato. The cook assures me even the weekly apple crumble is low fat and low sugar, but I will resist
Evenings is where I go wrong. I wont be in untill 6 tonight, so something quick would be good.
No mid mornin or mid afternoon snacks for me, unless there is any fruit left over in school.
Got lots of food in, so will have to use all that up before the budget will change. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

I too have school dinners when I'm working and I usually have jacket pot and beans with salad - only £1.25.
I too am shattered in the evenings, but find planning the weeks meals makes it easier - i don't have to think, just pull things together! Easy things like pasta with chicken, or spag bol (sometimes with real mince, sometimes with quorn) and then saving the extra for the next day.

I'm in!! Not a good start for me today though, as I've already had cheese on toast....oops. I need a few extra calories for the baby-feeding though (phew, good excuse eh?). The main problem I have is feeling so hungry all the time, so I'm going to try and eat regular healthy meals and snacks to stop myself getting to the point where I'm so starving I eat whatever isn't fastened down!
I'm not allowing extra money for the food, as we're on a budget of £40 per week, and that's really all we can afford, but we tend to buy mainly healthy stuff anyway. Not decided on a meal plan for today but will post again when I've had a look through the cupboards."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
