No light for me sadly. Blinkin solicitors always annoy me. Ours isnt happy with the building regs yet. Our buyers solicitors sent the approved contracts on thursday along with a note saying our freeholder's building insurance certificate expired during the time the legal stuff has been going through. They want a copy of the NEW certificate, but they ALSO wanted to complete on Friday??? BIZARRE!!!
At any rate, when my solicitor called them today to say we are close, probably exchange tomorrow and complete friday. They said actually because we didnt complete friday, they didnt think their client would be going ahead?!?! and they'd have to check. Yet even today our buyer was chasing the EA about whats happening. He was shocked to learn its HIM holding it up (contracts/insurance cert.). At the time I didnt know about the pulling out, and he didnt tell the EA that. I can only guess its the solicitors bluffing?? it seems a stupid thing to say tho....
At any rate now we wait for tomorrowsigh. Although I am not convinced I can get a removalist with 2 days notice, though I'll try. We'd still like to move Friday, its whether anyone can do it such short notice!

Oh kingkano....i really feel for you! Cant you contact removal firms and just check to see if any are free..maybe make a provisional booking with the understanding that if they get a definate offer of work they take that! Thats what we have done.....
I just hate all this hanging around and nothing seems to be getting done!
Im also prepared with the getting money into right accounts in preparation of having to do a CHAPS transfer to sols for completion (think we will owe about 7k!) so that if we dont get chance of a cheque to clear we can do that at least.0 -

thanks :T we are on frayed nerves lol.
I know one is free (well they were until today, I have to check again in the morning). I'm not sure they'd do it that way, most seem to want 50% cancellation if its within 7 days of the moveFair dos I guess but I cant afford that as its an expensive move (lots of stuff and getting them to pack). If I can get 2 that say the day is free tomorrow AM, I'll be confident to go ahead.
Yes exactly!! Always waiting for solicitors to get their bums in gear, or call you. We havent had to do hardly anything for the whole sale/buying except chasing. Maybe it was a good and bad thing. If we'd had more to provide/sort out we might not have noticed lol. But its always waiting for other people
The end IS in the sight if nobody pulls out. Its just a waiting game!
oh we are the opposite, we are getting a nice lump sum after the sale (thats the other thing we're waiting for really lol so we can order new furniture - cant do it all till we exchange really!)0 -

Hehe we are the same, millionaires for the weekend when we complete. MFI here we come.:rotfl:
I have had the mortgage offer confirmed today so that is a load of our minds.
Is there anyone on this thread that isn't having an absolute nightmare:rolleyes:0 -
After starting to freak out a bit due to no proper updates from mortgage broker found out today it is finally all approved and forms are on their way to solicitor. Just waiting for enquires to come back about building regs then I think everything is ready to go in the next week or so, starting to get a bit scared now though - doesn't help with people from work winding me up but it is nearly the end of the road.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 234 Proud to be dealing with my debts I love the Dave Ramsey podcasts. Mortgage company now have all details and have passed on to head office. We are now waiting for their decision over whether the property is mortgagable (sp?). And therefore whether or not we will be buying it.
Waiting is THE most frustating thing about buying a house. I am never, ever moving ever again! (ever, NEVER!).
Back to waiting patiently. :rolleyes:0 -
Well, who knows how long it will take us. Got a call from the estate agent today to let us know that the top of the chain has decided to buy not rent and therefore the chain has just stopped. We don't know if they will find anywhere, and when and then whether there will be a chain that they will be getting in too. So 11 weeks in we just keep waiting.
At the moment we have decided to stay with it, can't face the thought of looking again. Just see what happens and take it from there but think the kids will be staying at the same school for a few more weeks after the holiday.0 -
My agent phoned..the remortgage company have the right paperwork..blah..blah..something about indemnity insurance???? , blah, blah should be sorted by tomorrow, the funds can then be applied for, takes 48 hours aiming for Friday and apparently the key word is "AIMING"!! Thing is that this is from a girl that i "sacked" at the agent as the one that does my file only works wed - fri! Last time she told me something it was completely wrong so will not believe anything until i talk to my girls there tom! So potential to exchange fri or mon for completion on thurs. At this rate could exchange and complete same day and i just dont car!!! So long as it happens that is.0

Well, I didnt post yesterday as we are still getting over the fact our buyer has decided to PULL OUT.... on the day of exchange no less!!! He gave various c*ck and bull reasons that make no sense, and said he doesnt care about the £1500 he will lose ('i've got money to burn like that' he says).
So we are pretty distraught.
Our vendors have been understanding. They won't wait for us to find a new buyer, but we said we are considering other options (let2buy or something). They have said they will wait till after the weekend to start marketing, so if we can come up with a plan of action before then we can proceed (we were afterall ready to exchange darn contracts!!! grrr).
We can't believe it. Never trust a BTL investor is my advice, they have no morals and will just pull out at anytime....0 -

OH NO!!!! I feel so gutted for you, what an absolute w**ker!!!
You should have to sign something when you decide to offer on a property, that unless something drastic happens (eg. something wrong on survey, no mortgage offer or drastic change of circumstance) you cant pull out without paying some sort of compensation. This is so awful, I hope that it doesn't happen to us as we have just had to change my daughters school.
What was his reason???
It really shouldn't be allowed, it is just toying with peoples lives.0
