HI michjoe
Would the funds be the deposit? Is your buyer the bottom of the chain?
These sols are really getting to me too. We were also supposed to exchange today. Ive been nagging mine but he always seems to put me off and never replies to my emails..hence i phone him all the time cos i never know if he actually reads them (yes i do a read receipt but not sure he actually replies to those!). Ive now officially given up! What does it take to get 3 sols to speak to each other and be upfront with things..throw in few agents, brokers and vendors and buyers and you have a nightmare situation....my agent and i have decided its down to them now. We can do no more. It will probably take the banks sol at top of the chain a threat to pull out which will then work its way down and im just scared to death my buyer will say " ok then i'll leave it"..especially as she already has a house that she has not managed to rent out yet......going slowly barking.....!:mad:0 -
Why not? The teachers aren't there during the school holidays but the admin staff are, and the headteacher will be there for some of the time (except when off on his or her own break).
None of the admin staff in any of the schools I or my OH have worked in have ever been in during the summer hols except for the day that the GCSE results come out.0 -

Thanks for the reply. I am going mad with the stress of it all.
I don't know what these funds are, I have asked for an explanation but haven't had a reply yet. All I know is that our buyer is a business man, apparently he owns a restaurant and he is buying our property to let out. Our sale has already fallen through once due to the survey we have dropped the price alot for this new buyer. The sickening thing is our new house is ready, we just need the exchange of contracts to be done so we can get the flooring done and we are sure we won't lose anymore money if things go wrong.
My OH is going mad, he has given up on ringing round solicitors and EA's because his mobile bill is through the roof. I just want a quick happy ending on this now.0 -

Well, I didn't quite make Christmas, didn't quite make Easter, but finally completed today after months of stress and annoyance (I've even started to go grey and I don't think I should be old enough for that yet).
Have started to replace light fittings and clean and stuff - tomorrow need to replace the hideous light fittings in the lounge and bathroom, ooh and figure out how to get hot water, that should be fun...0 -
Congratulations AddieH :T  :T well done on finally gettting past the finishing line!
Welcome to all who have joined the race.
No news to report from us. We're still waiting for the structural engineer's report, hopefully it will be back Monday. Oh hum, back to the waiting game.0 -
News from me... We are due to exchange Monday with the view to complete ASAP. Not sure of the time span but have told my solicitor we want ASAP after exchange.
It seems we might even be in for the summer (dances around room):rotfl:0 -
Well Done Addie and papermoney.
We had our offer accepted on a house on Thursday, yey!
Had paperwork regarding our house from sol today, going in Monday to finalise mortgage (fingers crossed). Does anyone have any idea how long that takes??
Oh god, I hope everything runs smoothly!!!0 -
Update, we are ready to exchange, everything done on our part. The EA said we were ready and our seller. Just had information from our solicitor that it turns out our seller is still waiting for his mortgage offer!!!!! Its been 10 weeks since he accepted our offer and we were lead to believe that he was ready to move up. Looks like our chain is stopped at the moment. So fed up, at the min. Our solicitor is seeing if he can complete the sale and move later, who knows what will happen.0

Update from me..still waiting to exchange...
Bank at top of chain has put a deadline on Fri to exchange and we are ready. My buyer has still to get the funds from her remortgage (has deed to receive, sign and send back to lender and the postal strike didnt help)..its going to be tight as buyers sol refuses to exchange without the funds even though she has cash deposit that is acceptable....not sure what the bank will do on fri if we dont exchange. Start re-marketing? But whats the point a couple of days later and it will be sorted!
Fingers crossed!0
