I have no proof from the last six months and haven't known them to tell lies about such things. Personally, I think that I constantly let them down and that if I were them I'd be ashamed of me.
Yes well, your mother is not exactly backwards in coming forward Alex so I think we can safely say she does not feel let down by you :rotfl:.

    Tuesday 10th February, 2015.

    Dear Diary,

Unfortunately positivity has evaded me today. Whilst I've managed to update records and go through the motions of work, bad thoughts have not been far away and I wonder how I am going to keep long term momentum up in order to carry on saving.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.

Keep plodding Alex. That's where most people are at. Take each new day as an opportunity and GET BACK TO THE DOCTOR!!! You don't have to do this on your own.:)

At the moment I can't face talking about what's going on in my mind. Though I do hope tomorrow is better, even though Mrs. K. will be going away until Friday evening for work and my parents are in Spain.

:rotfl: She does always speak her mind.

Does that mean no roast beef on Sunday :D? And more importantly a chance to do something nice with just the 3 of you for a change?

I am afraid that some people just can't stop themselves from being rude, they don't even seem to realise that they would get a better reaction if they were even just a little polite. Do you think the tenant's rudeness has had a negative impact on you?

I only ask because you have been doing well recently and then that happened. But you were still "going through the motions of work". Not "I have done no work at all". So just look at the positive (difficult I know) and TRY to ignore the negative (also difficult)

Yes, there will be no roast beef on Sunday. It's not that bad, really, just a bit annoying that we have the same thing every week.

Until reading your post I hadn't considered actually doing something with this Sunday but thank you, I think Mrs. K. would appreciate me planning a nice surprise. If the weather is nice, I'm thinking perhaps a drive out, walk and a winter picnic. Or a visit to a gallery if it's not so nice.

That is an interesting point, patanne. :) I suppose it did have a negative impact especially as I was spoken to like a naughty little boy who'd happened to pick up his mother's phone. He actually had the nerve to say "I want to speak to your Mum, Alex." before clarifying if I had "the authority" to have the work done. :o

It can't have escaped you that it's Valentine's this weekend. Do you and MrsK normally mark the day? DH and I are having a meal in on Saturday (currently deciding between Waitrose or M&S deals:money:) as we're going to a wedding on Sunday. Why not do something similar on Saturday and then a family day out on Sunday?

I suppose tenants will have to get used to the fact that you're increasingly part of the business after dealing with your parents for years but that doesn't excuse rudeness.

Valentines Day is not usually something we bother with but as you mentioned it I did realise it's been a while since we had a (really) nice bottle of wine and a nice meal. Erm, think thats meant to be the other way round but doesn't matter. Leave the price aside, please. ;)

I do need to plan something to do on Sunday as it's not very often we have the day entirely to ourselves. Earlier I thought I had something planned but found the event had sold out. :(

As for the tenants, they are used to dealing with my parents, even so I can't say I particularly like being treated like an 8 year old.

This can work to your advantage sometimes I found. When I was left i/c as a Deputy I dealt with most things. But when I wanted to play for time (or perhaps hoped they'd go elsewhere and not come back) I'd tell the person concerned that I couldn't take the decision until my boss returned.

I got my M&S Valentine meal today. I thought good value for £20 but will need a couple of extra sides. I chose cava which I'll drink myself one evening. We'll have proper bubbles on Saturday.
