    Thanks, HBS and slowlyfading. :)

Things are going well, had a few potential leads today and updated the records (no, I'm not sure what's wrong with me, either ;)). I've also had my first not so positive dealings with a tenant, I wasn't quite expecting the level of rudeness in all honesty.

Just some music teaching left to do this evening to end a low (£9.00) spend day. :)

    Dear Diary,

After a not so good start to the day with my usual problem of struggling to see the "point", my motivation picked up pace after lunch and I've managed to get some work done as well as some prep for my next course assignment. My son has been helping with the work and I've realised I will greatly miss his company when he starts school in September. Over these past few months he seems to have really grown up considerably and I'm very proud of his achievements, goodness knows what I'll be like in a few years. :o

Today was also my first encounter with the not-so-nice part of being a landlord but it's not put me off quite yet. However, I do wish people in general would be more polite and realise that there are occasions when things don't quite go to plan.

Money spending stayed low with just a £9.00 spend on food for the day. Tomorrow should be a similar story.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.

Yup, can be tough going at times. Keep them happy by doing things as soon as they need doing and make your life easier in the long run :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

It's always so sweet when you talk about the time you spend with Little K. You ARE a good dad, even if you worry that you aren't :)

You say your parents are ashamed of you "despite their recent protests to the contrary"
I want you to look at something in a different way again please
What proof do you have, from the last 6 months, that they are ashamed?
You have changed remarkably over the last 6 months.
Have you any actual evidence or proof from the last 6 months that you can give to back up your thoughts that they are ashamed.
Have you evidence or proof that they are NOT ashamed ? YES - they have told you that. Why can you not believe what they say ? Do you have recent evidence they tell lies of this nature?
Start to believe what they say
Use the evidence that you have, and start to try to look at things from an evidence based view.
That is what CBT will help you with should you decide to take that route, but if not, try next time you get a negative thought which could potentially ruin a good day, ask yourself what is the RECENT evidence that this thought is true and valid
You are doing really well, keep up the good work.

I certainly agree, though I was surprised by just how the rude the tenant was about getting the job sorted - this was the first we had heard of it. My parents say this is not unusual?

Thank you, HBS, I try my best. :)

Regarding the tenant, they had a problem with their central heating which is now sorted.

    Thank you, Deb. :)

I have no proof from the last six months and haven't known them to tell lies about such things. Personally, I think that I constantly let them down and that if I were them I'd be ashamed of me.

Unfortunately, I have trouble being objective about my negative thoughts even though I know I should be. :(

    Dear Diary,

Unfortunately positivity has evaded me today. Whilst I've managed to update records and go through the motions of work, bad thoughts have not been far away and I wonder how I am going to keep long term momentum up in order to carry on saving.

    Yours Faithfully,
    Alex.
