Hope it goes ok with your parents, and well done on the ebay sales.

I'm no dream expert, but maybe its your subconsious wanting to give you a kick up the bum to say your worth more than this, it could be your brain feeling down and negative.

At least now saying yes to help from the GP is not a downfall, a negative, 2 steps backwards, its a move forward and a positive one xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

mum2one: I don't think it can mean anything good. These past few weeks I've been very anxious about my future; dreams of having nothing and nobody haven't helped that. In one I'm fairly certain I was homeless.

GP and counselling in many ways seems like my last hope to overcome my problems.

Oh Alex I wish I could give you a huge hug. Insomnia is the absolute pits (and I say that as someone about to start the day on 3 hours sleep ) and then to have horrid dreams when you do sleep.... You poor love.

Huge congratulations on the further debt busting. I know you don't always think so but you are doing brilliantly.

I hope that you have a good day today.

  • Listing £5000 of stuff is pretty awesome ! Wow, go you.

Take care today. We almost have a blue sky today. If you do too, get out in it for brisk walk, or run, let your body be too busy for your mind to think, if you know what I mean. Imagine how peaceful it would be lol!
  • Good morning Alex!!

I hope you will have a fantastic day!!

GP and counselling to the treatment of mental health issues is called dual intervention, I read you will be taking CBT? Great! That will be complex intervention. I believe you could also benefit from family intervention as it appears that your close relatives don't seem to be aware of the profound effect that depression can have. To be honest, I am somehow happy! :-) For you!! You are going to 'trust' more the medication and other help available to you. There is a reason why those interventions are in place.

CBT will address your tendency of catastrophising, all or nothing, fortune telling :-) social psychologist stated that human beings we act as scientis predicting the future and the outcome, usually a negative outcome.
Overgeneralising tendencies, LABELING! evidence of this is monumental in your threat :-) and perhaps is as a result of low self steem: labelling uourself ad being a failure etc. Mental filtering is another aspect whereby the person only sees the negatives and so on! That's why I personally think you could benefit from CBT!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel :-) you will get there!

Have a lovely day and fantastic with the eBay thingy! Ha ha
    No debts 🙌

Sorry about the family row Alex - hope it soon blows over.

Great to have listed so much on ebay - you are doing great with the debt busting and with CBT coming up you are sure to be tackling your issues.

One little thing I have noticed sometimes with your statements is that you will often add a little negative at the end just a made up example - 'had a great day with son today - but he'll hate me when he grows up' If you can notice when you do that and either stop or turn it into a positive - like 'we will have such fun in the summer' it will stop feeling so much negativity into your brain.

Echo: Thank you. :) Fortunately, a fairly good day had. Hope yours wasn't so bad either.

Bess: Thanks. The weather was nice but I had little time to appreciate it, only just finished for the day. I try to get a fair amount of my work done on Mondays. :) Tomorrow though hopefully the weather will be nice in the morning so my son and I can go for a walk before his nursery.

Iwillsucceed: Thank you. The chances of my family seeing a counsellor of any type is about nil.:rotfl:

However, yes I am going to start trying to do what the doctor says instead of ignoring it. Hopefully it will mean at least somewhat of an improvement. I hope there is a light as you say. :)

Roland: I do too, spoke to them today but they are still not happy - my parents think I'm wasting my time with a lot of things (some of my future plans, school volunteering).

I will certainly try to stop focusing on the negative, often I don't realise I'm doing it, must be such a misery to be around.

Naughty Naughty- you just did it again!!

Actually we must like your company or we wouldn't keep following your diary.

If you were such a misery we'd have abandoned you months ago.
