Alex, really good news on the F&F, well done. If you don't mind could you possibly share some information about it, as in what percentage of the outstanding debt did they settle for, and was it still with the OC, or had it been passed to a DCA?
Thank you.
The debt was with a collection agency (I have not began to do battle with the two which are still with the original creditors) and they have agreed to what amounts to 40% of the outstanding debt. I did consider trying for 35% but am happy to just get one cleared.2018 totals:

There is an old thread here from 2010 explaining it a bit more.
Did see a forum a few years back and people were posting pics of what their elves got up to - looked quite inventive.
My son's favourite toy was Roland Rat (hence my name!) and at Christmas Santa always gave him a gift too - sugar mice or a rubber rat - just something extra to add more magic.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

:rotfl: Being nothing but a big kid myself, we'll have a lot of fun with this, thank you!
And there was me thinking you played an electric organ.2018 totals:

That is absolutely brilliant news about the F+F, really good start to, fun all the plans for Xmas.
I love steam trains, although we got couple near us, never been, although if we are away i'll go on them.
The elf - a few ladies on the old Xmas thread do the elf story, basically an elf comes to you on 1st December, moves around the house, so at night, may accidently knock something over, or will be sat by the biscuit tin, and you can make up stories, then Xmas Eve, the Elf goes back to North Pole to help Santa for next year and comes back again 1st December, literally let your imagination run wild.
Sorry today been a down day, maybe its because all the exictement of little K birthday, and then its a downfall, in the 100 days of your diary, no-one would have expected you to come so far and achieve so much, you've done that, maybe now your body saying I want to slow down.
You take care xxxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Thank you, mum2one. I'm hoping to be debt-free by Christmas next year.
Really like the idea of the elf, will take my mind off things too. I'll tell Mrs. K. tomorrow and hopefully she'll like the idea too.
I think you're probably right and thank you, I've really put my mind to this and want to succeed. Despite being disappointed with myself for not raising more money. Really been feeling "on edge" today, don't deserve my family or my fairly cosy life.2018 totals:

My child free days - as youve gathered Devon was literally my 2nd home.
This one year, I had my palm read, - was told I was meeting a new man, already knew him, but not in boyfriend capacity, he had a managerial job, quite posh, his property over looked water but whilst it was true, keep my feet grounded.
----
The one pub I use to drink at was more my local than any up here, knew a lot of the locals, I always treated as one of them, not as a holiday maker.
The next year I went down, started in the March 1st holiday that year, and hey ho the group of blokes I knocked around with the one was quite posh he was a manager in large communications group, poshly spoken, I always remember he had this blonde floppy fringe, Burberry Coat, - we ended up getting together, so all my holidays were spent down Devon, some with family, other friends, sometimes just me, so I always stayed on the same site, if he was working I was in my environment, he told me his home had swimming pool - the palm reading was ticking more boxes, - never saw his house even though he always said come round, I was thinking not posh enough etc, - then the end of season, I had some holiday left, and was going to visit some friends down there, so he said stay with him. I'm on cloud 9, - drove 5 hrs after work, picked up curry enroute, then realised didn't know where he lived.
Rang him, - he gave me directions - thinking know where going as one set of friends lived in a block of flats - there was 2 seperate blocks of flats - his house!! was ground floor flat - did have a swimming pool, but that was attached to the holiday park, but the residentals of the flats could use it......
Bear in mind while I'm waiting in Indian, get dressed up smarter, - rang he come and met me in the carpark - he comes out big toe sticking through his socks, floppy fringe, the flat you couldn't swing a cat in, (he had lost it all in divorce), I wasn't bothered as I dont judge material worth.
That night I was shattered - he offers to run me a bath, - he run it to within 6 inches of the top of the bath..... one foot in that I would have flooded the bathroom... Bless his heart.
We split up the following year, as he was Mon-Fri 9 to 5, where as I was Mon - Sun shift work.
I Still smile when I drive down the main road, he's moved now, but I still have a drink with a couple of his mates when been down there xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
:rotfl: You never fail to amuse me! Afraid I have very few amusing stories to tell as I used to be very image conscious.
Suppose I still am in some respects. However, beginning to come round to the idea of being less "stuck up" for want of a better word may equal more fun.
Those who mind, don't matter, eh?2018 totals:

Alex Google Dinovember for something similar to elves for some ideas - maybe not the graffiti though :rotfl: Also, I believe the elf may do spot checks during the year to make sure Little K is behavingA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

:T 1 down. Keep at it as it's worth it in the end.0 -
Thank you, do you have a recipe, please?
Oh Alex, you must take me for one of those ORGANISED people! Soooo WRONG! :rotfl:
It's usually something like this:
Olive oil - enough to cover bottom of SC
2 large onions
500g minced local beef
(stir together before adding the rest)
2 tins tomatoes
2 packs mushrooms
2 large carrots
2 sticks celery
Good squidge of tomato puree
Big slosh of red wine
Tablespoon of Marmite (instead of stock cubes)
Tablespoon of whatever jam is open (bizarre idea but a friend's mum always did this & it makes it taste better)
2-3 cloves of garlic
Lots of herbs from garden like marjoram, thyme, rosemary, chives & even mint (or Herbes de Provence if dried)
Turmeric (supposed to be very good for you according to Ayurvedic medicine so I put it in most things)
Any depressed looking veg hanging around in veg drawer of fridge
Any leftover soup, gravy or veg from a previous meal where there's not enough to do much with (waste not want not!)
Makes 1 meal plus 3 "spares" for 2 adults, 2 kids.
Maybe I should call it "Lazy Bolognaise" (or if you want to get fancy & French "Bolognaise a la Paresseuse") as it kills 2 birds with one stone - getting rid of "what do I do with it" stuff in fridge & making a hearty meal base that everyone likes!
I add chilli, cumin, paprika, sweetcorn & kidney beans to transform it into a chilli con carne of sorts if I don't fancy Italian for one of the spares... yup, I'm THAT lazy!:eek:0
