Can I come? Can I, can I? I promise to be good :). I've only been on a steam train at a transport museum place but I loved it smiley-transport022.gif Toot Toot :j.

:rotfl: Are you joking, gallygirl? We haven't got diesel up here in Derbyshire yet... ;). Seriously though, I often see steam trains pulling into Matlock station, if son and I are at Sainsburys (don't tell my mother :rotfl: :o:p) he loves to look for trains coming and has to wait for them if he can hear them. Really going to miss silly little things like that when he is older as I only started going out of the house for anything other than business purposes for him - to teach him about the world.

In other matters - well done on the F&F:T, the NSD :T and the accompanying :T. Do you know if they passed?

Thank you. Unfortunately, I won't know until they know (about two - three weeks), I've asked they ring and tell me but it's up to them (not my pupils and their teacher entered them).

Thank you, I don't think I believed this would actually happen until today. :)

I do try to be a diplomat. ;)

The "are you joking" comment was not in reference to the "can I come" comment, it was regarding the fact you'd never been on a steam train other than at a transport museum.

Yes I think its good to explain the proper Christmas story - by means of a nice little book and the Nativity figures of some sort - especially as hen in school they might be doing it - though these days you never know. Though sons always preferred the Santa stories with elves and toys and reindeer.

Re Elf Magic - had not heard of it when kids were small but sounds great fun - explained here

Its to have fun in the build up to Christmas - one bit states:
An Elf Magic Elf brings a poem, which explains his or her visit, and Magic North Pole Snowflakes, which are sprinkled on the Elf each night to bring him or her to life. This allows the Elf to go on all types of adventurous Elfcapades! The Elf hides each night waiting to be found the next morning. Wonder where he or she might hide first?

Alex, really good news on the F&F, well done. If you don't mind could you possibly share some information about it, as in what percentage of the outstanding debt did they settle for, and was it still with the OC, or had it been passed to a DCA?

Yes, he'll do a Nativity play at school; both my old school and the village school are quite traditional.

I think he'll prefer Santa stories too!

LOL, love this. Mrs. K. and I could have some fun with this one. Think we'll be making an Elf before Advent!
