Haha Granariesgirl you sound like me with soup - "whatever veg is left" plus stock and a carton of chopped tomatoes, spiced to taste and blitzed with the stick blender!

And ain't it goooood! Especially with bread, a good bit of ham & some nice cheese...0 -
Thank you.
The debt was with a collection agency (I have not began to do battle with the two which are still with the original creditors) and they have agreed to what amounts to 40% of the outstanding debt. I did consider trying for 35% but am happy to just get one cleared.0 -

Not with bread, but yes to ham and cheese!
I also use it as an extra to add to chicken stew, beef casserole and chilli for a bit more veg (I don't like most veg :rotfl:)

BRAVO Alex for F&F no.1 - when you're feeling down, work out how much debt + interest you saved on that alone & it will make you feel MUCH better!
Cheers to mum2one for the recipes, will definitely be giving some of those a go.
I love the Elf idea too - might nick that one, though I'm a little worried about rules on Miniature Migrant Workers 'Elf & Safety...
(sorreee, couldn't resist!;))0 -
Alex Google Dinovember for something similar to elves for some ideas - maybe not the graffiti though :rotfl: Also, I believe the elf may do spot checks during the year to make sure Little K is behaving
I will have a look. Not sure I could even remember the spot checks. :rotfl: Maybe the threat will be enough!
:T 1 down. Keep at it as it's worth it in the end.
Hello there,
I was wondering where you'd got to! I hope your mother is on the mend.
Thank you, yes it's definitely worth it, I am quite looking forward to being debt free.Granariesgirl wrote: »Oh Alex, you must take me for one of those ORGANISED people! Soooo WRONG! :rotfl:
It's usually something like this:
**RECIPE**
Makes 1 meal plus 3 "spares" for 2 adults, 2 kids.
Maybe I should call it "Lazy Bolognaise" (or if you want to get fancy & French "Bolognaise a la Paresseuse") as it kills 2 birds with one stone - getting rid of "what do I do with it" stuff in fridge & making a hearty meal base that everyone likes!
I add chilli, cumin, paprika, sweetcorn & kidney beans to transform it into a chilli con carne of sorts if I don't fancy Italian for one of the spares... yup, I'm THAT lazy!
:rotfl: Yes, I did have you down as being the organised sort!
Will give it a god with likely half the ingredients. Not had chilli con carne in years, well you've gave me an idea for tonight!2018 totals:

You are most welcome.

Thank you, it does indeed make me feel much better about the debts, think we'll get there with those hopefully before next Christmas.

Hi, Alex, good news with the F&F agreement.
Don't forget to update your signature when it's paid !Early retired - 18th December 2014

I used to be, but then realised I just ended up with dribs and drabs of food not being used. I even put a bit of leftover chilli con carne in one soup, and also leftover bean stew. Anything will blitz to a good soup or sauce with a decent blender.
I'm sure I remember one of the "celeb" chefs doing a series where over a week he did a meal each day that used up the previous day's leftover
