I do wonder what is going to happen to their investment properties in the long term. Father is not well enough to be involved anymore in anything other than paperwork and mother seems to think she'll be able to do it forever; with all the will in the world she won't.
I'll need it, mum2one! :rotfl:
Son will be OK and I reckon we must all feel as if we need parenting lessons at times, especially those like me who grew up not really seeing young children. Up until my son was born, I'd only ever held one baby before and that was once for about five minutes! So I'm not doing bad to get to this stage ... :rotfl:2018 totals:

Saturday 16th November, 2013.
Day 77.
Dear Diary,
I have surprised myself today in regard to getting the accompaniments ready for next week and doing two rehearsals, one with a saxophonist and one with a flautist. Being unfamiliar with both instruments I was clearly unable to instruct regarding any technique issues but I realise how much I miss remotely "serious" playing - will most certainly be doing this again. Looking forward to the exams now!
Recently I have been terribly low about my situation with regards to the house, we have so little equity it almost feels as if we are just renting the place from the bank and for a while fear of my wife leaving / losing her job has been hanging over my head. It's completely irrational in all honesty but since I've began to face up to the fact we have both debt and no savings, I've had visions of something happening and us not being able to afford to pay the mortgage. All the more reason to sort our finances out, eh?
On the debt busting front, I've made an unexpected £50.00 from rehearsals and will make another £25.00 tomorrow plus £75.00 on exam day to do the actual accompanying. Truthfully, I've enjoyed it making a very easy £150.00. Whilst it won't be put towards the debts, we have decided all the money raised from the piano playing shall go towards the Christmas budget. The rest of today has been spent making our house look interesting to three year olds in anticipation for tomorrow. Can't believe we've gone to all this effort for what will amount to about 2 hours! Anyhow, it'll be fun, I hope and gives us an excuse to dress up.
Summary:
+£50.00 Rehearsals.
-£15.00 Groceries, OK there was a magazine in there too.
Yours Faithfully,
Alex.2018 totals:

Thats brilliant news about the music and productive about putting the money towards Xmas prezzies.
Good luck for 2mor your be fine...
I thought time for another one of my incidents stories.
Years ago I went on holiday with my then best male friend, we'd met on holiday, although we lived 250 miles away, we stayed in touch, and would go away the same week to Devon (he was carer for his mum and couldn't go far), and if I was on holiday he was about 50 miles away so use to take him out for day (he batted the other way), but people assumed we were a couple.
It was 29th birthday (feels like an eternity), so instead of having seperate caravans we said share.
1st ngt - we'd planned to go dog racing, neither of us had been before, although we'd been horse racing, and as it was a racing venue we thought it would be a posh ngt, he's in blazer, shirt tie, I'm in posh trouser suit, heeled boots, we had a quick drink at club on site and the bar manager laughed when said we were going dog racing, wondered why.
Soon found out.......
We got there, we were so over dressed it was unbelievable, I was driving so sober, friend had a few drinks, wanted the toilet - no idea - so I asked at bar (really a shed in disguise) the woman just follow your nose (ok, mind playing overtime) just round the next corner. Saw this queue, then saw they were the portable green toilets, friend asks should he go in the ladies or the gents..... I said the gents, - he then asks me do I want to go, no I'll hang on.......
His turn - goes in ok, comes out and at the top of voice, (camp) - he says "theres no mirror and there is no light in there"..... did I wish the ground could open up.
..........
back to the site, last orders, theres chit chat about us sharing a caravan, we knew the site and the staff, literally went down to the site 3 or 4 times a year, everyone was friends.... tucked up in bed, - about 5am, I hear the most almighty scream coming from him, I thought someone was breaking into the caravan,
next minute knock at the door - site maintance guy - someone had rang the security as they there was a murder, panic over, kettle on, turned out to be friend though I had a man in the caravan and had wondered into his bedroom by mistake (I wish...) no enroute to the toilet, he didn't realise the mirror was on the bedroom door, so as he approached it, it was his reflection, and frightened the hell out him.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Good luck Alex. Aw, wish we were all coming :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

mum2one: You do make me laugh, please carry on sharing your stories.
I've never been to the dog racing but am led to believe my father's parents had (and raced) greyhounds, says it all, eh?
Horse racing on the other had is a great day out, not been for a few years though.
Roland: Thank you, I think I most likely will.
