 CongratUlations, Great Aunt AussieLass  You must be thrilled :D Enjoy the caves, should be nice and cool in there. The only caves I've been to were at Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole but it was a pleasant experience.
AMIE - Happy, happy birthday! :bdaycake:

Donna - No ideas on how to patch it, but your heart must have hit the floor when you saw it! Dratted waspies! :naughty:

Wardi - what a lovely gesture to give your boss a cake :T Hope he appreciates it and you!
Well, I've survived the "Splash" class - what a scream!!! Bouncing around with a woggle between your legs beats dusting any day! :D:D:D
Got a bit of time before the lads come home, so I'm going to slap a cake in the combi for tea. Too hot to put the oven on. I was going to put away all my card making stuff but I'd forgotten it's Father's Day on Sunday, so I may as well leave it all out and see if I can tempt the lads into a bit of creativity. ;)
Just have a lunch-munch on some organic strawberries I picked up from the reduced counter - delicious! £2.99 down to 60p was well worth it in my book :D

Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them and happy birthday Amiee. Have a good one!
Still not really come down to earth after our rare weekend away...OH helped me do a marathon pile of ironing last night...two hours and still not finished it but I had my Touchstone CD playing [they're our local folk group] and was perfectly happy caterwauling away:D
Not much news today really except the small person is now the official compost monitor at school..he seems very proud of his new responsibility. Perhaps he'd like to finely hone his technique by doing the compost run at home on a daily basis:rotfl: Worth a try eh. I let him out last night on his own for the first time to post a letter [he was 9 at half term] He's only got a couple of quiet roads to cross and it's only 5 mins but I was still like a cat on a hot tin roof. Didn't tell him that though...he was very proud of himself!!
OS today has been bathroom cleaning and putting away clean washing. We've got pasta and pesto for tea tonight as the small person is doing the country dancing festival and we're on a tight schedule.
Have a groovy Tuesday!

Well I'll be blowed!
I've just been out in the garden and noticed that some kind bird has 'planted' some bramble in my garden (I know *I* haven't). Thoughtful little things have even positioned the 2 pieces to grow under the trellis on the pergola so I can train it up without too many pricks :D:D:D How lucky!!!

Snowy :p If that's the sort of advice your'e going to give me, save your typing fingers and don't bother. :D It should be a nice day to work on your garden anyway. By tonight we all expect a rundown on how much progress you've made.

dlb Oh dear. In Oz you get get little repair kits a bit like how to mend a punctured wheel on a bike. You pick one that matches your upholstery. Mabye worth a look.

Queenie Thankyou. I have been a great aunt for quite some time. I was an aunty at 10. Pictures came through and she looks adorable.

Aril Well done DS. :T

The caves were very nice although we were grouped with about a dozen 10 year old girls. It could have worse, it could have been the boys. :D Saw & heard them in the distance. Shudder.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

:eek::eek::eek::eek:I had no idea you had decided to go ahead with the gender reassignment opp:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Cloudy and muggy here in the emids, never mind, it's forecast 3 days of rain from tomorrow. LOL

I've managed to convince Mrs MATH that we do not need to replace our bedroom furniture and that she just needs to but less clothes;) So I've spent a productive morning repairing some of the draws that stick/fall apart should you glance at them, and will give them a good fettling next week. If I can scrape a few pennies together we will re-decorate and carpet in the summer. Even better I could 'encourage' Mrs MATH to re-decorate while I am at the coast for 6 weeks with the kids:D

I'm gonna take the boys for a haircut after school so that's another £10 gone. Apparently the long skater boy look is soo last week. I kinda liked it myself, reminded of me of when I had long new romantic locks in nineteen hundred and thatcher.;)

DLB I was always buring the roof of my car when I smoked. I don't know how you cover them up. I just changed my car when I stopped smoking. (maybe not a money saving option, that one!) LOL
You know those self-richeous ex smokers who start tutting if someone lights up in the next county. Well, I'm afraid after 30 a day for 20 years and only 2 1/2 years smoke free, I've turned into one! I caught myself mid-grumble the other day and didn't recognize myself.:rotfl:

Gotta go, I still havn't finished my paid2clicks yet! Way Behind today!

Have a gudun

... and the JAM!!! :D:D:D
Hmm, actually you raise some good points ... ... I'll focus on the jam and blackberry tea ;):o

:rotfl: I tell you, MATH, you're not too far out! I could almost imagine what it's like to endeavour to walk about with an erection - except no man is *that* generously endowed; if they were, you'd spot them a mile away with their constant black eyes!
Just nicely sorted out our weekend entertainment :D There's some free events going on around our way which sound like a lot of fun! So, picnic baking will be on the agenda for the next few days. Boys are at their Dad's Saturday, so I've tipped him the wink and hopefully he'll take them to one event Saturday but as he's been called into work the Sunday, I get to enjoy them on Father's Day at another event :D Now I'm just praying for good weather!

Queenie - :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Got through my clinic appointment in super fast time so hopefully that is a good sign! Now have to wait 2 weeks for my letter. The staff at the clinic are sooo nice and comforting, real angels :A it makes the whole experience less frightening.

Dh spent some pennies in the Cancer Research charity shop and got a book he has wanted for ages but cost him £5 less than at the bookshop! We then went mad and had coffee and croissants in town.

My knees are hurting today and the stairs are a problem so I am now taking it easy and starting on some craft projects for the pressie box.
Congratulations Aussielass on becoming a Great Auntie!
I'm now a tad upset. Just found out that our solicitor hasn't been able to do anything for our house purchase because of the lack of paperwork from the other side. Ahhhhh. We appointed them over a month ago! There have been a few tears.

Its a shared ownership house and now I'm worried that we're going to lose the house because of all these delays. There has been a delay on the mortgage offer because they had problems getting the keys for the property.

This just isn't my year.
House buying and selling is incredibly emotional, but although I know nothing of your circs., just want to assure you that usually things do work out. Solicitors' lack of paperwork from the other side is a very common reason for things slowing up. All you can do is two, quite paradoxical things:
1. do everything you can to speed things up
2. allow things to take their natural course

you can speed things up by contacting yr solicitor at least once a week, to check that all is going as it should be. If something is to be posted, and you're in a position to collect/deliver it yourself same day by hand, do so, this can save a few days and prevent stuff being "lost in the post"

Forgive me if you know all this already, just wanted to assure you that most house sales go through alright in the end. Good Luck
