Daily Thread for Tuesday 12th June 2007
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning Everyone!
I've never been up early enough to start this thread, makes a change!
I seem to be needing less sleep these days, I woke up at 4.30, been up since 5!
Work today. Our Year 6 are away this week so it's a lot quieter.:rotfl:
DS is soundo, he didn't get up yesterday till 10.30 and that's only cos I phoned him,:rotfl: Still only two more exams to go, one tomorrow and one next week. Then it's THE PROM! Seven lads at my house, going in a limo together. AAh, I can't wait!
My parents have had a flood last week courtesy of their freeholder who hadn't cleared the drains:eek: My Mum is not well, and the freeholder's buildings insurance man is being difficult, so I've got to sort him out:j
Have a good day all!

I Believe in saving money!!!:T

:hello: Goooood morning hilstep and all fellow OS'ers :D
Oh your poor parents :( Hope you manage to sort things out for them. Oooh 7 young lads and a limo ... that'll be a sight for sore eyes :D:D
It's an embarassed Queenie this morning, found the 2nd class yesterday too much and left half way through :o No way could I keep up so I had to admit defeat. Today will be swimming instead  I can cope with swimming ;)
On the home front, need to have a quick tidy up of all my crafting stuff before the lads come home tonight. D13yo is in the middle of exams and the last thing he needs is a cluttered home - especially as he'll need to have his own work books out revising :p :shhh:
Bin men this morning, so all the black bags need to go out - I'll be glad of the day we get wheelie bins! Had them at my old house, but it's been black bags since I moved here. Now, it's not *that* far away from where I lived before, you would think they'd have caught up with modernity in 13 years!!!
Before that ... I need coffee!!! Catch up with you later :D

Morning. Not a drop of rain has fallen despite the forcast.. Pity the garden veggies look a bit pathetic. We have a visitor arriving today. the OH cousin from Australia. We have never seen him, but his Mum stayed with us last year, so should be an interesting few days. I am not sure what he will do as we are working all week. Perhaps pack him off on the train to Newquay to do some surfing. Must get some Foster's in....(All Australians drink Fosters beer, right??):rotfl:
Off to court today to watch a Burnley lad get some porridge for chasing someone around a pool table with a Samurai sword... Not a very nice thing to do... all because they taunted him because he was a 'Chav'.... what ever next. Is that Racist?
Well have a nice day. My anniversary yesterday was great... Everyone else around here forgot, like the kids... but no big deal. I have forgotten my parents anniversary for the past 40 years.:p

THANKS TO EVERYONE ON YESTERDAYS POST FOR SENDING THEIR ANNIVERSARY BEST WISHES

I will post the chicken recipe tomorrow, I have no time now
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

Hi, thought i had woken late today, time upstairs said 7.40, got down here and it said 5.40:eek: could have stayed asleep longer, now im up so cant go to sleep, worrying too much about lo and how he got on in hospital last night.

Thanks for the pm's and hugs, will go down once kids have been dropped off at school and give him loads of hugs from you all:D

No os for me today though, it is also open day at school later on, where the parents come in to look at their kids work, will try and get to it, if not mum has said she will go in.

Ds1 got a surprise yesterday at lunchtime, there was no one to do his insulin so the dr went to school and came back to the house to supervise ds1 doing it, that was so good of him to do it as i know how he is really busy.

Anyway got to tidy up a bit, didnt get shopping yesterday so think i will order online to get it tomorrow.

    Hugs to all

catznine - good luck today with the mammo!
kyle & twink - ((hugs)) hope the little one's arm isn't too uncomfortable for him.
Amie - enjoy your birthday chinese lunch :T :D
Aussielass - 6lb isn't too bad considering how long you've been staying here now ... not compared to people who go away for 1 or 2 weeks and put on several pounds ;)

Morning Kyle, Hilstep, Queenie, Amie and N9eav, and to everyone who follows

Kyle, I was so sorry to hear about your wee boy's accident yesterday, how terribly shocking for you. He'll recover of course (as will you), but your heart must have been in your mouth for a while. Big hugs!

Today's forecast is for a spot of rain, but fingers crossed they got that wrong as I still have a couple of loads of washing to do. Also fingers crossed for AussieLass & OH while they explore the northern & western areas of Ireland as it's not an awful lot of fun in the rain.

I've only had about three hours sleep for the second night running. I can't blame Teddy the kitty this time, I simply can't stay asleep this morning. It's so annoying, even the lavendar I bought specially hasn't done much to help.

Bargain Rzl - eeek, had to send you virtual hugs and sympathy for the shock you got when trying on the trews in T.K.Maxx. I've done that to ad finitum and it's a horrible feeling. Your plan of action sounds good (cutting down on beer & all things boozy also helps unfortunately, why can't someone invent the chocolate and wine diet?)

Catznine, best wishes for today - I know it's not the sort of thing that a lady looks forward to exactly, but aren't we so incredibly fortunate that such preventative and precautionary testing is there for us.

Going to lie down again - I might drift off again, but then I might not!

    Bye for now

    Snowy

    Good morning everyone,

kyle - hope LO has had a good night xxx

Frugual - Hope all went ok yesterday, have been thinking of you, take care xxxxxxxxxx

Catz - hope your test goes ok today xxx

Thanks for the wishes yesterday, my head still feels heavy today, but not as bad as yesterday. I do drink a lot of water during the day (need to get my 2 litres a day), i think im just getting over tierd at the mo (not sleeping) and with the hot weather etc, i will be fine tho!!!

Children back to school today, and i have 2 LOs here (one at nursery am tho) so not a bad day. Got quite a lot done yesterday as LO had an early sleep so not too much to catch up with today. Have an appointment later, have never taken the LO to anything like that before, so will see how he does, hope he will be ok, its only a quick thing, so should be able to distract him and talk at the same time (fingers crossed!!)

Right, better get moving before they start arriving,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good Morning everyone - I'm going to have to go read yesterday's thread to catch up on what's been happening here.
Have just exhausted myself with all of 5 minutes worth of exercise video! Also walked round garden - I wanted to eat the beans when they were ready - seems like the slugs have beaten me to it! Grrrh!
Am teaching all day today so will be very late as there'll be plenty piled up to do in my office at the end of the day and I'm still catching up on everything I missed being away last half term. Hope those unwell will feel better soon and hugs to all who need one.

    morning all

My sympathies to everyone who has children doing exams, my DS is now 28, but I still remember those stresssful days

Amie, does singing help your veg - I have three tiny tomatoes, but am worried if I sing to them, they might drop off :D

Very cloudy here today, but I'm kidding myself that it is heatmist :rotfl: Heavy thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon, so looks like the weeks with be knee high again by weekend.

Has anyone just seen that advert about prostate cancer with Bob Monkhouse - how clever is that - he died 4 years ago, but they have used some clever computer graphics.

mushrooms on toast for breakfast, spaghetti on toast for lunch, and sausages and mash with cabbage for tea. As my cake was such a success last week, think I will put the bm on and make a cherry cake.

Hope everyone has a good day x
