    Morning all :hello:

Hugs to all who need it, especially Kyle.

Still not feeling bright and cheerful here. Could have done with a better nights sleep. Elderly cat needed company at 4:00 and 6:00 am, then kitten woke up and had major attempts to kill my hand before deciding that today he'd get himself off the bed and go exploring. Did that 3 times before I gave up retrieving him and got up. Now he's had breakfast he's fast asleep little so-and-so!

Must do something productive today. Feel like a whole week has gone by with no progress on anything. Must go plant out the courgettes at the allotment, but I'm a bit worried about being bitten by ants again. Stuff of my nightmares!

Also told my neighbour I'd see about the possibility of borrowing cat-catching cages from the cats protection league. She's been feeding the farm cats and kittens, and thinks the farmer is close to shooting some of them as he's overrun (due to not having them spayed). She's been talking about sneaking in cat-catching stuff for over a year now ... I think it's time to do something rather than prat about it. If she spent more time doing rather than fretting about it there might not be so many cats around. .....sorry rant over!

On a plus point - sold another book on greenmetropolis.com :j I think people must be buying for their summer holidays - that makes 5 in 3 days!

Hope people have a good day and get only good news!

Oh SO funny. Just did a loud pseudo-yawn and freaked out the kitten!

    Morning all :)

Big hugs to everyone but especially ((((Kyle)))) , (((Twink))) and (((lo))) here's to a speedy recovery, I'm sure lo will be right as rain in no time, sending all good wishes and hopes for a very speedy recovery, agree you need to write a letter of complaint to the baby gate people, they need to know that they should get babies to test the gates and not adults. Hey maybe a job for lo when he's better, get testing at ground level only though and a nice fat check for his services afterwards :D .

Well I did it, Saturday was super, I only had a very minor panic attack when I got stuck in the middle of a small crowded room with stalls with herby things on. Luckily DH saw what was going on and was by my side like a knight in shining armour and got me out of there. A cup of tea later and I was fine, no wanting to go home immediately :j The herb event at Ryton really was a huge distraction :) This weekend will be the bigger test cos I'm off to Gardeners World, still DH has given me some cash to spend on herbs as a treat so I reckon I can brave the crowds :T Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support and especially to Kyle who helped me realise I can tackle this problem :A

Sophie Grigson was at the event and she made a dead easy pud with strawberries, mascarpone cheese, sugar and lemon verbena, as well as other tasty recipes and there was a tasting session oooohhhhh yum! The pud was so lush I had to make it when I got home for afters on Sunday and it's inspired me to use the herbs out of the garden more in my cooking. So today some baking is on the cards again, yesterday I made some lavender & lemon biscuits, today it'll be orange choc chip cookies, some lemon balm & sultana scones and a nice lemon verbena cake, DH wants to take some yummies in for the guys at work as none of their wives do home baking.
Yesterday I made some lavender sugar, vanilla sugar and rose geranium leaf sugar for using in cakes, will take a week or so until they're ready but they'll be useful for baking and loads cheaper than buying from some of the 'cook shops'.

Got some work to do and need to put the WM on (although it looks like its going to rain!) and want to sort out the back bedroom so I can make space to use my sewing machine. Got some herbs to plant out if the rain holds off as well :) Hope everyone has a lovely day, for all those that are feeling under the weather get well soon.

    Hugs - Herby x

Herby - glad to hear you overcame things! I might have to start dropping hints to my DH - I'd quite fancy a trip to Gardener's World:rotfl: Sophie Grigson is fab - I got her vegetable book at Christmas.

Anyway, in work bright and early this morning. I love it at this time - the place is deserted and I get so much more done...Fingers crossed that stroppy co-worker has calmed down today!

DH is still away so I don't have much to do around the house - I put some washing on this morning and packed up my lunch and that was about it! He did make a vat of pasta sauce with aubergine before he left so I have plenty to keep me going - it feels quite lazy to get home, sling some sauce in the microwave and pour me a glass of wine - who said OS wasn't quick and easy??:T

Have a good day all, hugs to all that need them!

    Goodmorning everyone

Bit drizzly here today. We are off to explore some caves (sigh) :D so it shoudn't make much difference. Had a disastrous night with my hair last night. My foils are growing out so thought I would touch them up and go to my h'dresser back home in about a month to get them done properly. Oh dear  the colour where I have done is really red. So now I have the skunk look. :D

DH thought it rather amusing :p During the night the Lentil soup I made for lunch had him on the go so while I sniggered it made for a restless sleep. Got a email from my brother this morning, my neice had a daughter yesterday. Mum & baby are both just dandy.

Kyle & Twink Hope today brings a bit of sunshine. ((((hugs)))) to Lorenzo. :D
Cat Good luck with your mammogram.
Amie Happy Birthday. Enjoy our day.
Frugal I hope everything went well for you yesterday.
Snowy How's the jam going? ;)
Well today I shall ponder what to do about my hair  while I trudge around underground. :D At least it will be dark. :rotfl: Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Hester, seems you've discovered that lodgers will often treat you as parent substitutes. If she will listen to you, that's not all bad. Have reached page 551 of TMWQ. Gerda is also in love with Ulrich. Son popped round unexpectedly at 8.30pm and found his Ma in bed with an attractive cough and pile of kleenex. Hated him seeing me like an old woman, would not have gone to bed if I knew he was coming.

Today I will do some writing. Two weeks ago for the first time I actually got PAID for performing my poetry in a pub ! £20 cash ! This has encouraged me no end, so watch out Pam Ayres. As soon as pubs are smoke-free - any day now - shall really hit the circuit.

Plan also to read 50 more pages of TMWQ and to report here every day till I finish the thing. This evening friend has tickets for Poets in the City at Lloyds of London, the only one I've heard of is Patience Agbabi. Hope I don't cough too much. My inhaler has virtually no juice left, but docs appt tomorrow so will get another.

Hope everyone's day goes well, bringing reassurance and unexpected joys

    Morning all

:grouphug: to everyone that needs it.

Well I woke up to rain this morning, quite refreshing and nice clean cool air! Was getting a bit hot and sticky yesterday. Least the bunnies will have a cooler day in their home.

Work today, bit boring but its my managers birthday so I am going to get him a cake. Hes had a string of bad luck recently so really want to treat him.

Stuck to my meal plan last night, and on course for tonights too! Going to try making some cereal bars which I saw on a TV show at the weekend so fingers crossed for a success!!

    Not much else going on

    Have a good day all

    Morning All

Kyle - didnt catch the end of yesterdays thread so lots of (((hugs))) for lo.

Aussie - have only been in a cave a couple of times but was fascinating. We went once to the ones in Majorca and listened to a concert in there - magical.

Well I have had one of those mornings where I dont know where the time has gone. Had now cleaned kitchen worktops, emptied DW & loaded wm. Am now in my office, need to make some phonecalls but am waiting for someone to turn up who is late and I dont want to use the phone till they come. Oh well better late than never.

Paperwork this morning, mystery shop around lunchtime and ironing this afternoon. I have a mountain and dont know why as I was keeping on top of it. Weather here was overcast this morning but sun keeps trying to come out - its also very humid. Hopefully will stay dry long enough to dry my washing.

    Best get on now.
    Have a great day.

Dh wasnt as mad as i thought although iv had the `told you not to smoke in car ect ect`
Hes just text me to tell me how much a new roof liner is....£200 arhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I'm now a tad upset. Just found out that our solicitor hasn't been able to do anything for our house purchase because of the lack of paperwork from the other side. Ahhhhh. We appointed them over a month ago! There have been a few tears.

Its a shared ownership house and now I'm worried that we're going to lose the house because of all these delays. There has been a delay on the mortgage offer because they had problems getting the keys for the property.

    This just isn't my year.
