@supermario64 I haven't had any such indication from it. I think I read a post from someone else  saying that it just blows cold air if it runs out. Not sure though.
I have had mine on until the unit is no longer warm when you touch it. But there was still some heat in the bricks so still some heat coming out.
I think I'd be more concerned if I'd planned to be out all day then ended up home all day with not enough heat.
With my old heater it just emitted heat all night and day regardless, unless I switch it off at the wall the night before. So it was always warm enough. Not so with this heater. If you don't programme it to be on during the night, the room is freezing on  a morning and takes quite a while to warm up.

Yes. I have one of their small panel heaters in my bedroom. They are silent, but do have the odd click when cooling down. Though only a couple and not loud. However I don't find them very effective. Just my opinion.
Mine works a treat but not sure on how much it takes to keep on overnight but the electric bill does go up. Its scary to think how we are all gonna charge our electric cars if we worried about a little radiator  :D
  • @paulhgc I'll be sticking to my classic mini as long as possible and being in a first floor flat there is no way to charge an electric car anyway. Lol.

The other half is a panel beater. He still couldn't keep the metal munchies at bay on a Mini  :D
  • Hello,
Just had a Quantum Storage heater installed in the bedroom and woke up to these metallic clicking noises which are quite loud! I can also hear the fan going on and off but that's fine and tolerable. Basically the fan goes on for some seconds, then it stops, then those loud clicks start. Actually had to turn off the heater because it's quite bad. Does this seem normal? Might be an issue with the fitting (was the first time the electrician was fitting one and they were struggling to fit the bottom grill...)
    Thanks!
I'm just going to add that my heater has been suffering the same issue, reported to Dimplex in early November but still not resolved as 'waiting for stock to become available'. The noise doesn't happen if the fan is on continually throughout the heating period but if the fan is coming on and off, then the noise starts up. Noise becomes less noisy as the heater cools down. I've recorded it and spent the video to Dimplex, need to chase them again as I haven't had an update for a week now.

I've also found the heater has started developing something that sounds like a vibration coming from the top of the heater where the vent at the back is. Seems to happen when the fan starts up. Not overly impressed with the quality control so far with the heater but at least it is working.

Sounds like it's not fitted securely. That's what the Dimplex told me was the issue with mine. Since he has been the clicking has been very much reduced. I think he must have tightened something up. I think I still need to get it refitted. But debating whether to put my old style storage heater back in since I refurbished it.
  • It may be, at the moment it looks like they will be replacing the fan strap? No idea how that part working within the heater but this is the part that's being sourced for the repair. Looks like I might be getting somebody out soon as it's now in stock so we'll see what happens. It will just be nice if they can eliminate the noises so it runs a bit more quietly.

Get them to check that it is fitted correctly to the wall and there's no movement there. Mine seems to have stopped clicking. I think the engineer tightened something. Although it could still be a bit tighter against the wall. I don't want to get the fitters in to refit it as I'm afraid they might undo something he has done and I end up with loud clicking again.
